Just used some for the first time today, and OMG! It has taken 5 years off me, at least.

Yay! Grin

I managed to score some lanacane gel for £3 (another line I never expected to write Hmm) so I shall experiment with smashbox down one side of my face and lanacane anti-chafing gel down the other. Then I shall run around with DCs, stand over boiling pasta etc and see how it lasts ...

OK so I put a layer of the No 7 Primer on my face.

It's certainly made quite a startling (to me) difference.

When it's dried, it sort of smoothes everything out. Made my skin ridiculously smooth and soft to the touch and it's lasted through a windy and lightly rainy hour walking the dogs.

With no makeup, I'd say it's definitely made my skin look fresher and younger.

Kate I am very excited. I was going to take all my make up/sudocrem off and give it a whirl but I will wait til the morning and see if my friend notices. Grin Please tell me you don't need to put much on.

....watches avidly for outcome...MAC prep and prime is my current primer and v happy with it. Tend to put moisturiser, primer and foundation on in fairly rapid succession. Wouldn't have time to do anything else

DH did come into the room this morning and asked 'Are you putting bum cream on your face?'. I said the people on MN told me to. He was Hmm. He will be relieved I have proper stuff now. Grin

smashbox is a thing of wonder. It's like I would prefer to imagine I look all the time (bit of a shock when I don't have it on!)

Has anyone tried Nanoblur?

I used the No 7 one today with the garnier BB cream and not such a good result as with the foundation but have to agree to above post - I out it on about half an hour before I put my makeup on and my skin just looked fresher and smoother.

Yesterday evening when dc's dad brought dd back he said 'are you wearing lipstick?' I always wear lipstick/gloss etc that and mascara wouldn't be seen dead without either. He said it looked different which I am hopefully thinking was my skin looking so much smoother and fresher!! He is not known to say anything nice to me so am hoping he was just stating a matter of fact Smile

HomeEcoGnomist I'm not sure but I have heard that Nanoblur is a swizz.
There was another thread on S&B by someone who is a chemist (or had the training) and they were recommending some pretty basic sounding chemical based ingredients instead of moisturisers, I think it was in that thread that Nanoblur was mentioned as a waste of money.

I haven't tried nanoblur but the reviews aren't good. And I think it bobbles.

Tried the sudocream base this morning - stung a bit ? is that supposed to happen ?, I did put on a bit to much though and looked like a clown before the added extras lol - anyway wiped it off and rubbed it in - I was very greasy and my foundation just sort of slid on top - my whole face was just shiney for a couple of hours ( I normally have very dry skin) - anyway to cut a long story short, my foundation is still on but I'm kind of sticky !

I'm watching the sudocrem experiments with interest (I don't know how it's a primer when it doesn't have any of the usual primer ingredients? so this is all very exciting).

Have tried the old sudo for the last two days as a primer under lily lolo mineral make up. Used Liz Earle sunscreen first then the sudo and the mineral foundation.

Well it works well. No need for any buffing or additional blending with flocked sponge. It went on, looked flawless (as flawless as you get at nearly 40 with two under 3 and feck all sleep) and stayed the same all day.

Unexpectedly good.

I have tried primers in the past and found most gave me spots rashes or redness.

Am interested to hear how others got on with sudo. Not trying the lanacane tho as its ingredients are too much like the regular primers I react badly to.

Grin and thanks so much

Vicks. It works because of the eucalyptus in it.http://www.cure-nailfungus.com/eucalyptus-oil-to-treat-nail-fungus.html
Tea tree oil also treats nail fungus well.

Weeeelllll....

I don't like it.

Don't get me wrong; I really do think it makes a difference without any makeup - blurs lines, evens skin tone and leaves skin incredibly soft and smooth.

HOWEVER when I come to put my foundation over the top, the foundation seems to "stick" and I can't get a nice, even finish. In fact it sticks so much that the pores on my nose are even MORE noticeable with the primer!

I know I could probably apply makeup when the primer is still wet and has more "slip" but what's the point of that? It would be like putting a layer of paint on a wall before the first is dry; they'd mix to a certain extent.

It's a lot of money for something that only makes you look better without makeup - if I haven't got makeup on, it's because I'm not that fussed how I look!

So it will be going back.

Are there any better ones, or are they all much of a muchness?

Well I had an hour to kill today after taking dd to ballet so I wandered into Boots to buy some make-up (find a cheaper version of the lovely colour I tried on at the Lancome counter)

So I saw the number 7 primer and sampled it. Couldn't see any difference at all. Nice lady from Boots found me a brush to try the blusher on with. The only other thing I was wearing was a little bit of lip gloss.

When I got home I looked in the mirror and I am now a fan. My skin is so smooth and so even. Looks lovely with a touch of my new blusher and lip gloss. I have only recently started wearing foundation simply to try and disguise some of the lines that are developing.

Am going to go back next week to treat myself.

Incidentally she said another brand (she was just fromBoots not no 7 so could reccomend any brand) can't remember whether it was Loreal or Revlon is bringing out a new primer tomorrow that is going to be slightly cheaper than no 7. She said the staff have all tried it and its good.
