Just used some for the first time today, and OMG! It has taken 5 years off me, at least.

Yay! Grin

I really want some now but DP's got the car and it's pissing down with rain! :(

My skin isn't bad - I've got some very fine lines at the corners of my eyes and on my upper lip. Will primer really make a difference?

lookingforgrip · 17/03/2012 11:31

i am a self confessed make up/cleansing virgin lazy arse

but...i do use frizz ease on my free range hair

and then give my face a good rub with whats left over on my hands

its made such a difference to my skin, but im guessing anything would be a bonus on it Blush

shinecrazydiamond · 17/03/2012 11:34

calamity - It kind of sets I suppose - forms a smooth base for foundation.

I wish you would all stop putting sudocrem and anti chafing gel on your face though Hmm Grin

shinecrazydiamond · 17/03/2012 11:35

OH MY GOD lookingforagrip... Shock Don't put a hair product on your face!

carrielou2007 · 17/03/2012 11:43

For heavens sake, why do I look at these threads?

I look at morrocan oil for hair and now I have some.

I look at No.7 ripoff Chanel foundation and had to buy some.

I look at BB cream and now I have some.

I look at a footfile and now have supersoft feet.

I am scared about putting sudocream on my face though always have the little squeezy tube in my bag for chaffing and a huge pot still I use for ds so will doing that later.

I don't even wear foundation (only on my work days to keep up the groomed look) and now I am thinking I need to go out to Boots RIGHT NOW and get this primer stuff...

carrielou2007 · 17/03/2012 11:45

oops pressed enter too soon...

I have supersoft feet, shiny flowing hair and supply of gorgous leather handbags and a cuboard full of BB/foundation/other recomended face creams yet I am itching to whip out and buy some more!!!

carrielou2007 · 17/03/2012 11:49

ooh can I add there is a lovely No. 7 box that prob you all know about, it is the intense protect and whatever is it called, serum, day and night cream half price at 32.50. You can't use the voucher with it but you can use it on the 3 for 3 and then use one voucher also. It is my mother's day pressie from my dc Smile

GetOrfMoiiLand · 17/03/2012 11:50

I think the Loreal professionals primer is brilliant. Only £12.

I am going to give the lanacane and sudocrem a go. OH if only I knew someone with a newborn baby and I could nick the mini-tub that comes with the crappy bounty packs.

shinecrazydiamond · 17/03/2012 11:54

getorf - please DON'T put lanacane on your face. Have I entered a parallel universe here?

I am using YSL's primer at the moment and it's very nice.

Re the Benefit thing.... I really believe that, as a brand, it's all style over substance and very much aimed at teens/early 20s.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 17/03/2012 11:55

I think the same - benefit is make up for people who know nowt about make up. All that inane and childish packaging. I feel the same about Soap and Glory. It's for teenagers.

What is lanacane actually for properly? Is it for bee stings or something, or am I confused and befuddled. Grin

shinecrazydiamond · 17/03/2012 11:59

Lanacane is anti chafing - so I suppose for your inner thighs if they rub together to create a barrier. I have Lanacane powder for the kids

brighthair · 17/03/2012 11:59

I am using Philosophy The Present primer at the moment. TK Max had it for £3 and I went back to buy 3 more tubes as I really like it. Think it is usually about £20

carrielou2007 · 17/03/2012 11:59

I think it is to soothe/clam itching?

Not a fan of soap and glory so felt a right twit at my age hovering looking for that bloomin foot file the other day in Boots but it was worth the shame for the results!

GetOrfMoiiLand · 17/03/2012 12:02

My SIL bought me great vanity case of soap and glory one Christmas. It was all utter shite.

What would cause your thighs to chafe? exczma excema exzema ecxzema-- dermatitis?

shinecrazydiamond · 17/03/2012 12:04

Chafing thighs mainly being due to being overweight. My legs have always been fine. My tummy on the other hand Hmm

Pantone363 · 17/03/2012 12:04

Nobody mentioned the mac primer? It's fab, slight glitter/shimmer to it.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/03/2012 12:05

GetOrf it is shite, and it stinks as well.

I buy it for teen DN and she loves it.

OP posts:
Chandon · 17/03/2012 12:44

chafing is a side effect of obesity.

About Benefit, you are right! it IS for people who don't really have a clue about make up. That is why I am a fan, as it enables me to enter the land of grooming and make up. The "grown up" counters are too intimidating and serious :)

Sparklingbrook · 17/03/2012 12:45

I had thigh chafing when i was heavily pregnant. Had to start wearing DH's Boxers. Blush

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 17/03/2012 12:46

I own 2 benefit products the rest are shit.

I have the mascara (fake lash effect) and highlighter.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 17/03/2012 12:47

Sorry - that was ignorant of me re Lanacane, no offence meant. Blush

southeastastra · 17/03/2012 12:52

i loved my smashbox primer, but only really used it occassionally now, it's too greasy for everyday imo and the no7 one was awful, same as tesco make up one, didn't do much but add a bit of glitter which isn't what primers are for!

don't think they're really needed if you have a good foundation or even good skin to start with

Sparklingbrook · 17/03/2012 12:53

Well I am going out to look at all this later. What shall I buy for a primer? I have a £5 No7 voucher.

duckdodgers · 17/03/2012 14:00

Im a bit mixed up re primers and BB creams and dont know whether they would suit my skin because its oily with open pores. Ive got the Benefit porething but Im not sure if it works. Can anyone recomend a primer then that would help? Ive tried the sample of BB cream from Loreal but Im not sure if it will make my skin greasier.

latrucha · 17/03/2012 14:52

I tried the sudocrem today and I am imagining a good effect Hmm but I dont think it would be good long term.

I looked at No7 but as I couldn't try it I didn't. It's too expensive for a punt. I might try Getorf suggestion: it's a much more reasonable price.

I bought myself a lovely big powder brush with my No7 voucherwhich will probably have no effect transform me into a slick and polished goddess.
