Just used some for the first time today, and OMG! It has taken 5 years off me, at least.

Yay! Grin

I can recommend body shop primer

I've been wondering about using primer too. Doesn't it sound like something you'd get in a DIY shop though for walls though? Actually that's probably what I should be looking for.

I don't have sudocrem but I do have a tube of bepanthen - do you ladies think that do the trick?

Report
Sparklingbrook · 16/03/2012 11:18

Yes Boom I may pop down to B&Q for primer and Polyfilla. Grin

I use the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. Is a primer better then that? Or, is that a primer?

I'm a bit confused about the Sudocrem solution. Once a midwife told me it was a wonder product and that it was particularly good if you ever get zits as it dries them out. Doesn't the sudocrem dry out your face? I'm too scared to try. My skin is already on the dark dry side.

I mix laura mercier primer with a darker foundation and it looks like a natural glowy tan v realistic and smooth

Now you are all confusing me. Grin

Do you use Flash Balm in the same way, after moisturiser and before foundation?

Report
bigkidsdidit · 16/03/2012 11:35

Ok I have sudocrem primer on and I do smell a little like bum Grin

Not sure about it - it looks good but not amazing. I love clarins so might buy myself some of that for mother's day

Oh I have beauty flash balm! Is it a primer?? Confused

And then foundation etc on top of that Alibaba?

So is it: cleanse, P&P serum, moisturise, primer, foundation, rest of makeup

I desperately neeed to start looking younger than I do currently. I've not long graduated from counch to 5k (stealth boast) and I'd just been for a run with one of the school mums I'm friends with. We were talking about ambitions and I said Ive always wanted to do a marathon before I turn 40, 'oh,' says she, 'did you do it?'.... I'm only 35....

The sudocrem did go on better than I expected, but it was a bit 'bummy' and my youngest is 9, Grin

has the sudocream made any difference to the foundation staying on all day and not seeping into the cracks?

apparently lanacane (spelling?) anti-chafing gel has the same ingredients list as urban decay primer/mac primer (according to reviews) so I am having a go at that. I ordered some on ebay for about 3 pounds so I will report back ...

Blimey some brave people putting creams meant for bums on their faces. How do these things get found out in the first place?Confused

I tend to stick to the region suggested on the tube rather than living dangerously. I wonder how many 'experiments' go wrong that we don't get to hear aboutGrin

apparently the Lanacane anti-chafing gel (not the cream which has a painkiller in it!) is a well-known cheap primer solution- I think there are review on MakeupAlley. However, if my face falls off I shall tell you.

MrsGuy - really? DH has one that needs attention, I will tell him.

Well I put my makeup on over my primer at just before 9am, and I've just checked in the mirror and it is still in place and looks as good as it did this morning. I am truly converted!

So glad to have this thread - have been wondering for some time what primer is. Now can someone please explain what concealer is too, and how it relates to the whole primer/foundation/moisturiser/serum show ??? It's bewildering, and too expensive to find out by trial and error ....

Right, well I read this earlier and was about to go out so I got 'sudocremed-up ' and then applied make up as usual and blow me but I definitely think it made a big difference. I was completely amazed at how well the sudo goes on- I had imagined it would be like thick ,white gloop but no it went on really nicely and disappeared into the skin. As far as I know, I didnt smell like a baby's bum, and I think it gave me a glow/radiance I didnt have without the sudo. I will be doing it again! Thanks to whoever recommended itThanks

I tried sudocreme today as still trying to get the coveted Barbara Daily primer and I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised by the results - 10 hours later my foundation is still on and I'm not shiny at all!
