i have to STOP myself taking blusher up to temples to stop that mad " just done aerobics perma flush" thing we used to be told to do.

the highlighter above the lipstick - i still do it on a night out, in the cupids bow Hmm and Im sure i look demented

I had that tin, too, Cod.

I have two friends who use very 1980s blue eyeliner and mascara. It's a sort of electric blue colour as well. One of them has frosted pink lippy too. Not a good look. Someone once told me that you tend to continue doing your make up as you did when you were at your peak, rather than moving on. My Auntie June uses lots of frosted pale blue eye shadow and liquid flicky black eyeliner, and has her hair in a sort of bouffant pink mess. She looked fabulous like this in her 20s, from photos, but now she's 80, she looks like a cheap Barbara Cartland.

KandyBarr · 19/12/2011 12:34

Brown eyeshadow: loved it in the 80s, love it now.

But I've kicked the frosted highlighter.

noddyholder · 19/12/2011 14:03

Highlighter in cupids bow and on brow bone oh yes! And a hint of blusher on temples really wakes my face up I am not giving it up.

cocolepew · 19/12/2011 14:24

I used to use matt white highlighter. I thought it gave me a lovely sculpted brow until I saw it in better light and it looked like I'd been playing with chalk.

Selks · 19/12/2011 14:28

Smoky kohl pencil under eyes. Every day the same - just can't get my head around a different look. Do do it quite lightly though.

Pseudonymity · 19/12/2011 14:43

I saw someone at a wedding with a completely glittery face. What was it? Main suspect Beauty Flash Balm. It was v. v. bright sun but did basically look like tiny glitter particles all over her face. Even DP noticed.

Pseudonymity · 19/12/2011 14:44

Oh, by the way. Mine is red lipstick, everyday without fail since the early 90s. Never going to stop, have pale skin and v. dark eyes/hair, need the colour and look dead without it.

Lulumama · 19/12/2011 14:47

black liquid winged eyeliner and lots of mascara. every day, without fail, even if I'm not leaving the house. right now, it's quite fashionable but i am in style for approx 1 season every 10 years, i can live with that though

southeastastra · 19/12/2011 14:51

hey i love you too!

i still wear pale purple lipstick like it was 1985

namechangerbat · 19/12/2011 14:54

I still straighten my hair until it looks like a lamp shade. Can't help it.

startail · 19/12/2011 14:57

How do I find out how do my make up. I just stick on what feels right about once a month. Else I don't bother. Probably not much different to 1984Blush
You can't just stair at people to study theirs. Mums at school don't wear enough to study at a distance. I'm 44 magazine styles would just look silly.

Becaroooodolf · 19/12/2011 14:57

Is electric blue mascara a no-no now, then????

Becaroooodolf · 19/12/2011 14:58

Heather shimmer, anyone???

startail · 19/12/2011 14:58
