New thread here!

News flash - Kate Moss's wedding dress here. I like it - very her.

Am also loving the pics of Wills and Kate in Canada - she really seems a natural in her new 'role' (can you tell I've just had my DM fix?!)

Carciofi so glad you got it.

I'm exhausted, must have end of term blues as well! Boys and I had take away pizza for tea - huge treat for them and me. Now planning on vegging on the sofa with Friday night wine and either a curly wurly or ice cream for company!

blossoming · 01/07/2011 19:12

The older bridesmaid was in horrific blue chiffon though ollie!

I'm off out to resign as chair of the mother's group. End of season buffet in the pub. Feel sorry for me.

Have a great holiday apuski, and well done on getting your house ready.

carciofi, well done on surviving your first day alone. It will get easier. Lovely gift to your aunt.

God - didnt realise thats was a bridesmaid Bloss - terrible dress - made worse by having to stand next to a zillion cute little girls!

blossoming · 01/07/2011 19:40

Oh no, I'm first to arrive. Sitting in pub on my own. I am so not coming next year!

Evening all, what a glorious day. Style kind of went out the window here as it was nice and hot so dug out trusty white very short shorts (look better than they sound, and maximising leg tanning ahead of party tomorrow night Grin) with this Johnnie B racer back vest and flat sandals.

Kate Moss wedding - absolutely beautiful dress and veil just to die for, but thought she looked a bit disshevelled and in need of spanx! Grin Agree with Bloss about the dreadful older bridesmaid's dress too.

Grin Bloss re the full price sharkskin Agnes - always satisfying! I've ended up with black ones from NAP for £122.50 so pretty pleased with them. Had to send my sharkskin HoF ones back as decided they were too big. If anyone spots a bargainous pair in a 26 please do shout. Also quite tempted by the coated black houlis - could work well into Autumn do you think?

Love all the bag avidity. Very Envy of the cream AH and Alexas LTEC and Plum. Did anyone snap up the stone Gracie that Emo spotted back in stock at MW?

Amber I am also liking the Freya. Quite fancy it in electric blue but kind of hoping it will get reduced at some stage.

Clevery loved the drunken posting, and hope your knee is sufficiently recovered for the red hasbeens to make another appearance tonight. I also have them and love the bright colour, and actually find them incredibly comfortable if I don't have to walk too far. Shame about the Pure bag, it looked lovely online.

Carciofi the first few weeks are the hardest when DC2 comes along. I can remember DH going abroad for work when DS was 10 days old, leaving me with DD 2.5 and a newborn to contend with. It was absolute hell as I'd had a horrific birth followed by a bad haemorrhage and I needed a blow up rubber ring just to sit down! Weirdly my mum didn't give me anywhere near as much help second time around as first even though I could've done with it a lot more....You sound so calm and relaxed though, and it sounds like a great decision to have a babysitter so that DD1 still gets lots of attention and quality time in these early weeks. Think I should have done the same.

Quick colour analysis question as I know there are a few experts on this thread. Would it be at all possible for me to be an Autumn, but still look good in cobalt/royal blue? It's my absolute favourite colour to wear, and one I nearly always receive compliments on when I am wearing, yet I am almost certain I am not a Winter. Am naturally mousey-mid brown, brown eyes and warm skin which tans easily. I should probably take the plunge and have my colours done but any advice gratefully received.

WAN hope your DH is on the mend and sorry to others Petit, Portia and Nan who've had sad news this week.

Well done to MrNY and hope you're having a lovely evening tonight NY

Time to refill my glass with Villa Maria Sav Blanc - lovely lovely wine and just the thing for rehydrating after my spinning class tonight Hmm. Have lovely evenings all.

Thanks Clevery, gosh the colours thing really isn't as simple as you might think is it? I'm pretty sure I am warm toned. Lavender not a good colour on me. I do look good in orange I think, not sure about olive. I have trousers that colour but not sure about close to my face. Shall I be brave and post a pic for a while?

OK have added a pic Clevery, you should be able to see it. Hair is highlighted but naturally mousey-mid brown.

Annie - hope you got some sleep last night and can have a relatively relaxing weekend.

I have to ponder what to wear for Laser Rush this morning with 20 7yr olds.... Is that on the official W&A list of events???

I sent back my entire enourmous HoF order. My replacement AH bag still hasn't arrived over a week later and still no Jalouses which is beginning to annoy me.

Please can I ask who posted a great shortbread recipe before I can't be arsed to trawl through the threads can't remember who it was. If it's not a hassle, please can you post it again?? We went to a fab coffee kiosk yesterday and DH and I had shortbread which the children nicked despite having their lollies!!

OllieinOrange · 02/07/2011 07:29

Morning. DS1 up until gone 10 last night and DS2 woke up at 5.30am - am feeling tired and irritable already. Poor DH got short shift from me when he phoned last night and banged on about how lovely the hotel he is staying in was - oh dear!

Petit annoying about the AH and Ash boots. Its me that bangs on about got the shortbread recipe - really easy. Here it is:

Ollie's Shortbread

125g of butter
175g of plain flour, sieved
50g of castor sugar

Heat oven to 150c

Rub margarine/butter into flour and sugar until it resembles breadcrumbs. Knead/squeeze together until mix forms a smooth dough, leaving bowl clean.

Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead again until dough becomes smooth and silky.

Roll out using rolling pin and use a cookie cutter to cut shapes (rounds/hearts/stars etc). I usually make mine quite thick.

Prick with a fork

Place onto baking tray/baking paper

Bake in pre heated oven for 30 to 45 mins. It should still be quite pale in colour and I prefer mine a bit underdone.

Sprinkle with castor sugar then cool on wire tray.

Happy baking!

petitdonkey · 02/07/2011 07:39

Thanks so much Ollie, I thought it was you!! Copied and pasted Smile

Loved the photos of Kate Moss' wedding but I did think that she looked a bit knackered! I'm sure that the photos will be amazing though, if only I had 'close friend Mario Testino' on hand on my big day!!

I'm shamefully devouring photos of Catherine in Canada - she looks amazing but really, really thin [jealous? moi?]

PlumSykes · 02/07/2011 08:01

Me too petit! Love the purple Isaa, and the cream Reiss on her. She is terribly thin though-great figure, but face looking too drawn, I think.

OllieinOrange · 02/07/2011 08:46

How annoying - Great Plains have put their A/W collection on their website but I can only see the lead picture on each page. Love the look of the bird dress shown on the dresses page tho!

wideawakenurse · 02/07/2011 08:54

Good Morning.

Well, what a week! DS is much better ans back to his cheeky self. DH is doing ok but still needing lots of pain relief. Although I have to say that things are somewhat tense round here, major argument about getting a cleaner this am. Apparently, "We are coping". Er, are we? I'm on the brink of exhaustion Mr wideawake!

Been lurking on the thread though when I can, Bloss hope you had a good evening last night and annie lovely to see you, you are doing an amazing job holding everything together. Hope you have a good time with DH next week.

cleverly wise as ever, being in the early stages of pregnancy maybe would not be that great in terms of everything else to content with.

Ollie I feel your pain on the late night and early waking. When is DH back?

Right, off to hang washing out and change sheets. Total rock n' roll.

roary · 02/07/2011 08:57

HI all
COuldn't resist a sneaky morning post to say KATE IS WEARING MY ISSA!! Except hers is purple. . I said to DH that I would have to tell the imaginary friends and he said to make sure I also told you that he thinks it looks better on me, very sweet of him but I am not sure he is right (just probably being sweet)

My Canadian pride was quite touched yesterday by her maple leaf hat and brooch. And she does manage to make the brooch look young and cool. Perhaps they'll make a comeback!

AntPants1 · 02/07/2011 09:00

roary and chance of a pic of you in said Issa dress?!!Grin

AntPants1 · 02/07/2011 09:01

Oh and ollie thanks for shortbread recipe. Am all inspired. May make with the kids now!!!!
