Black Belstaffs anyone?. They also have Trialmasters with heel for small sizes.

WAN - Really feel for you and your DH. My DH has a degenerative back condition that may eventually result in him using a wheelchair in the longterm (hopefully not for some decades) and is sometimes in a great deal of pain with it - it is awful watching someone suffer. I am Angry on your behalf with your mother.

Rufus - I really fancy seeing Bridesmaids! Probably wont get to the pictures, but will add it to the Lovefilm DVd list.

Carciofi - lovely that you can share such lovely memories and spend great time with your Aunt.

Well, I have not managed to stick with the lo-carb stuff properly this time round. (MrsCB - I feel your pain!!) I am actually at a weight that I can maintain quite easily and fit into all my clothes, so the motivation isn't really there. The couple of times I have done it in the past I had put on 3/4 pounds and so felt I 'needed' to drop it. I don't drink much, so can't cut out booze, and don't actually eat that much in the way of pasta/bread/rice - with me the only things that can go are my once daily slice of cake....and the cheese that I sometimes grate over soup or scrambled egg. The main things I miss in the lo-carb regime are veg and salad stuff - I dream of it!! I have cut out the cake and am doing 'no carbs after lunch' (i.e porridge for breakfast and chicken salad for lunch) and we will see if I am any leaner by Saturday....

blossoming · 29/06/2011 09:47

Morning everyone! I can't wait to see Bridesmaids. It may get to the local cinema by Christmas!
Lots of avidity. Looking through Boden for work appropriate clothing. Palazzo top is good happily, but not great colours for me.
emo is right petit. A list of occasions is great to sort out wardrobe. In real life we need smart and casual which is why I think skinny trousers and crops work so well as they suit flats and heels so help to keep things stylish.

carciofi, glad you've got such a lovely aunt. Are things settling?

I'm off to the 6th form college this afternoon for training and contract signing! All very exciting apart from my Mil coming over again for babysitting. And I have to make dinner for her after rushing back, taking ds to piano etc etc.
My parents phoned from inside their tent in the rain fritzi!

I'm popping in very quickly just to say that I'm going to be off this thread for a while. Real life is getting to me at the moment. My grandmother died...she was 75 and in rude health, so this has come as very much of a shock. And this is on top of unsuccessful job-hunting, friction with dh (which, ironically, has stopped now due to grandma's death), and stupid things happening like the boiler, microwave and washing machine all packing it in in a single week.

I know each of those things in isolation is trifling, but all together and finished off with my grandmother's death it's quite overwhelming.

I will be back, avid as ever, once I've sorted my head out Smile

We'll be thinking about you nan. Come back soon.

Just running in as we're in the middle of the last week of school, 2 class picnics down, 1 to go! V glad parental involvement doesn't go as far as in the Netherlands!

Lots of avidity here, v v Envy of all the Alexas, Carciofi I think it would be a great bag for you, the fact that is has a cross-body strap would make it much easier with your girls, rather than trying to keep the Bayswater on your shoulder. Your Aunt sounds lovely, hope she can stay a while longer.

I stumbled upon a great site yesterday. Just before Christmas I battled through a blizzard to get a pair of boots in the sale. I love them so much, but don't wear them as much as I would like to as I don't want to wear them out. I googled them to see if anyone was selling old stock in the sales and found Shoeaholics. I bought another black (really charcoal) and a brown pair for 25% or the price I paid in the sale. Lots of party/wedding guest shoes on the site, so might be useful.

WAN hope things get better for you soon

OK, off to the park with 26 6 year olds!

VerityBrulee · 29/06/2011 10:41

Sorry to hear that Nan, take care of yourself.

blossoming · 29/06/2011 11:41

carciofi, I've been thinking. I think you should buy the Alexa because:
a) you love Mulberry
b) as Verity said, you need cross body
c) you're going to buy it anyway!

Blossoming, you know me too well! I am going to think it over for a while and maybe take a trip with the baby to Westfield in the next week or two. It is a lot of money but I do have plenty of clothes and I can always ebay something to raise the funds for my next pair of jeans or whatever. Congrats on signing the contract!

Nan, really sorry about your grandmother.

My aunt leaves tomorrow night, :(. She said she will come back over soon and we will go to Dublin in September. The baby is very easy and DD1 seems to have adjusted (I did catch her putting a blanket over the baby's head this morning but she was trying to help!). She is downstairs building a lego town with the babysitter while my aunt has taken the baby out for a walk so I have perfect peace!

That website sounds great, Verity. Enjoy the picnic.

carciofi · 29/06/2011 15:45

Wan, glad your DS is better and hope your DH will be ok soon. Sorry also, NY to hear about your DH's condition.

blossoming · 29/06/2011 16:29

OMG. How can I convey the horror that was 90 minutes on wide screen, high definition. I am going to have to lose weight and buy form fitting clothes for this job!!

OP posts:
notyummy · 29/06/2011 16:50

That widescreen adds many pounds Bloss!! Even the shredded ladies on my dvds look wide on our TV.

Nan - hope to see you back son. Take care.

Cant believe Ihave to tear myself away from the tennis to go and get my only child. Gah!! What with Feliciano Lopez and Rafa I am spoilt whatever match I choose Grin - imagine me grinning in lascivious 'older ladee' type way and you've got it about right....

OllieinOrange · 29/06/2011 22:12

Quiet on here this evening.

Had a nice facial this morning with a lash and brow tint. DS1 noticed something was different - unlike DH!
No other news - DH has taken tomorrow off and we are going out for a nice lunch and possibly test driving a Fiat 500 for me. I just think they are so cute (and easier to park!!!)

LTEC · 29/06/2011 23:09

oooh, lots of lovely bag buying going on, food to see. Here's my contribution - this Anya bag which I picked up on Monday. Am still not convinced that cream was the wisest choice for me/ my dc etc but one can't always be practical.

Keeping up the tradition of SE London A&W encounters, I ran into Ooooh at the park the other day, which was lovely. Red we were wondering when you are off and whether we have time for a park date before you go?

My other sale purchase has been these shorts which do perky things for the derriere. On which note, I gather lots of summer eating plans and whatnot are going on - am right there with you, ladies. Right there with you.

LTEC · 29/06/2011 23:10

good to see, the bag buying. Food to see? Food to see but not to eat?? is that the summer eating plan of which I speak??

FritziGreenEyes · 30/06/2011 07:48

LTEC "Food to see but not to eat" would be a great title for a diet book Grin. Love your cream AH bag!

ollie I adore Fiat 500s! Around here all the "yummy mummies" (hate that expression) drive Minis but if my old battered car has to be replaced I would love a Fiat 500. Hope you can test drive one with a fold back roof and the sun will be out. Enjoy your day with DH Smile.

nan So sorry to hear about your grandmother Sad. Take care and do come back. Maybe some light-hearted talk about clothes and bags can be a welcome distraction?

bloss Your poor parents! I would hate to be in a tent in torrential rain and thunderstorm, but I am not a tent-person... If your parents would like to continue their holidays here in the years to come, I would be happy to put them up in our guest room for a week. We live in a nice spa town (with concerts on Sundays in the park) with lots of great wine! Smile.

blossoming · 30/06/2011 08:15

That's lovely fritzi, thank you. As I said before though, I think their days of driving in Europe are numbered. My dad is so forgetful right now. They're having a great time though!
Have a great day today ollie. Sounds perfect.

I'm getting quite fed up with Dh and his work load at the minute. Also it turned out he was wanting to see Mil before she left last night. As it was she'd gone about 20 minutes before he arrived. If he only knew! She does nothing to help out at all, just wants to play with the kids, so I end up with tons of extra work because the toys are everywhere, there's more washing up as I've had to cook dinner. Normally Ds has a 'picnic' tea on Wednesday because of timing of piano lesson. Then I have Ds and Dd doing simultaneous poos in the bathroom, and up she comes wanting to 'play' with them in the bath..
I managed to shred her out of my hair by about 8pm though.
I went to bed early and I'm reading When God was a Rabbit. It's getting quite good now, but was slow to start.
Lovely bag ltec. Also Reiss is really working for you isn't it? After my experience of seeing myself in wide screen yesterday, I may be moving away from slouchy tops for the forseeable future!

Morning all - great to hear from you LTEC.

Fritzi - meant to say, wasn't ignoring you when you asked what I was wearing for the Ball this weekend - just kept forgetting. Can't link due to tiresome new work IT system, however I am wearing a Miss Sixty maxi dress with black heeled sandals. Hair down and done in a big/bouncy/beachy/dishevelled way (poor hairdresser will have no idea when I tell him what I want Grin.) Had to be a maxi ladies....there's a dress code!!

OllieinOrange · 30/06/2011 08:39

Wrap sale on now.

OllieinOrange · 30/06/2011 08:46

Hmmm - not v impressed with it tho - not much reduced - but the Bloss shorts are!

blossoming · 30/06/2011 09:52

Talking of bags, let me link you to the lovely bag I carried my files in yesterday bargain £6.50!!!

Ambernj1 · 30/06/2011 10:05

Morning all,

2 days till due date and still no baby!

Went to Bicester yesterday - got a few bits from Petit Bateau/White Co for DD when she deigns to make an appearance, a blush pink leopard print top from LKB and a very un-S&B waterproof jacket from North Face! Also got some bits for DC in Boden sale and the chiffon trim cardi, cropped jeans and a cami for myself. Had a good old drool over an Alexa in Mulberry outlet at Bicester, couldn't justify as have had 4 new bags in last month, but I think it will be next on my hit list (just need DH to forget about the others!)

Very bored of clothes without a fixed waistband now - living in my IO maxi and wrap dresses atm, just want to get into my Agnes and feel human again!

FritziGreenEyes · 30/06/2011 10:31

notyummy Your outfit for the ball sounds lovely and you will look gorgeous with your beachy hair! I had missed your post about your DH from yesterday Sad. That is awful and I hope that being as much into exercise and healthy eating as you both are, will help to ease his pain.

amber Just keep walking and shopping Wink.

FritziGreenEyes · 30/06/2011 10:43

Oh dear, I need to step away from the computer! I have been lured into the Wrap Sale and ordered the bloss shorts plus a couple of tops Blush.
