New thread here!

Well done fritzi! love those shorts. What did you wear to see your friend in the end?

I was sorry to read that about your Dh notyummy. Jillian will make you strong physically and mentally. Essential for everybody as none of us know what's around the corner. I used to worry how I would cope with dc2 when she got older. It's hard not to, but as it turned out I should have just enjoyed every day as it was with her.

Talking of bags again Amber, I'm considering not getting the lkb anna now and using my old briefcase, and getting dh to contribute to the Chanel 2.55 instead.

MarshaBrady · 30/06/2011 11:02

Ollie I love yellow. Great dress! Colour is fabulous.

Pickled the bag is going back, it is some sparkly Sonia Rykiel number. The six year old girls at ds' school loved it. So I think probably need a more grown up one. Grin

Quick post as am enjoying the most peaceful day doing some work at home. Really enjoying it, I tend to dread it then get into the idea and flow and the peace is wonderful.

And a delivery of top from TheOutnet, a lovely aqua blue loose knit. Bit of working, shopping, painter doing the F&B, fab.

Amber agree, shop shop and walk.

Ambernj1 · 30/06/2011 11:30

Well funnily enough, my plans for the afternoon do involve both walking and shopping (just packed hospital bag and feeling sorry for my little girl as am recycling a lot of blue sleepsuits, so will nip out for some pink ones - if I happen into matches/DVF/LKB etc I'm just a victim of circumstance...)

bloss I have the Annina and find it very useful, but DH has been informed I expect a 2.55 for my 30th (though now thinking this is a bad strategy as have 3.5 years to wait - our wedding anniversary is coming up though, do we think I can somehow convince him the paper for year 1 should be a large cheque? :) ) Depends really on whether you can bear to keep using the briefcase...

Anyway, have to give the house a good spruce now because DH has invited people to stay tomorrow night (the night before my due date, thanks for that) and there are raisins scattered to the four winds...

blossoming · 30/06/2011 12:10

There is also the problem that DH uses the briefcase! Anyone know of good, cheapish ones, so I can keep saving?

OP posts:
redllamayellowllama · 30/06/2011 12:27

Running in without thorough perusal of links/posts. DH is striking which roughly translates as coming to Monkey Music and doing the gardening in preparation for Saturday, which I should be assisting with.

Nan hope to see you soon, we'll be thinking of you.

Carciofi lovely that you have someone to share fond memories with.

WAN hope DH isn't in too much pain and that your parents step up at some point soon.

Hi LTEC! how was Oooh? We completed today and are moving at the end of July, so lots of time still. Just let me know. Moreover, the drink that never got organised (largely my fault) would be very much appreciated. My Mum is here from Monday, so am free as a bird.

blossoming · 30/06/2011 13:39

I am looking at workwear. I tried on my cap sleeve black dvf wrap dress and realised that if I shorten it, it will look great with my pewter flats. My lkb cropped cardigan is also good with it, and I decided that £56 was a good price for cashmere so I just bought the boden silver sparkle cardigan which will look good over black dresses for the future I think.

OllieinOrange · 30/06/2011 15:09

Back from a nice day out with DH. A neighbour/Mum from school was getting married this morning so we waved them off. She looked amazing - column shaped dress cut on the bias with a v-neck and capped sleeves. Very Pippa Middleton'esque. Gorgeous.

DH splashed the cash and brought a very expensive sports jacket thing from Gant - very preppy, v him! I picked up a lovely white with navy striped linen jumper from Zara for 10 euros! Have made a mental of the amount he spent tho for future use Wink

Back later. A neighbours daughter has asked me to proof read her thesis to check its English grammer - said yes without realising its 500 pages long and on a v boring topic. And she wants it back within 2 days!

AllBuggiedOut · 30/06/2011 15:43

Anybody need a bargain Anglomania in small?

VerityBrulee · 30/06/2011 15:50

bloss live metalic cardigans, so versatile!

ollie how was the fiat? I dream of driving one, they are so cute in comparison to the mammoth 7 seater I drive. I paid extra to have a navy blue car, but for the fiat i think i'd go for redGrin

Low point of my day was sitting in said car this morning sobbing as i left my eldest boy to primary school for the last time Sad He is totally cool about it, but I'm a wreck. So what else could I do but go shopping? Got a great Maje navy cardigan which will get lots of use and new nail polish. Feel a bit better now! We are on school hols now, phew.

blossoming · 30/06/2011 16:26

ollie, you're having some week! I think the answer to the next request should be N.O.!

You poor thing verity. It must be hard for you. Doesn't time fly when you have kids? Hope you have a lovely summer holiday.
I am excitedly hemming my dvf. It will be much more wearable if I can wear flats with it.

OP posts:
ReineDeSaba · 30/06/2011 16:46

Currently waiting for kitchen floor to dry post mopping so popping in to post.

nan very sad to experience sudden loss, glad your husband is being supportive.

verity it is terrifying how quickly those early years race by..I saw my friend's preteen today after a year and she is practically I woman..very hard to imagine my own girls all grown but it will come

marsha glad the outnet came good in the end..still very curious about the bag which could not be linked Grin

ltec that bag will be perfect for Sydney and you will look very moggle off duty in those shorts!

WAN you are having a bad time of it...really hard to think of a good reason why a mum wouldn't want to help out her son and grandchildren Shock

ollie everyone needs a friend like you..you are such a generous spirit.

ABO great price.

carciofi and dexter still awaiting the madmax jeans..am tempted not to answer the door!

bloss clever you to do your own hemming..I am scared of the stretchy fabric!

ReineDeSaba · 30/06/2011 16:48

notyummy I love NMTZ when I have the time!

every I can't control my sweet tooth at the moment..keep blaming my hormones but not even getting pmt as ongoing breastfeeding has halted everything..

mrsjuan · 30/06/2011 19:03

Hi all, sorry have had trouble keeping up as always so apologies if I've missed anything.

Portia, Petit & Nan - sorry you've all had sad news. Take care of yourselves.

Verity ahh - I bet it's gone so quickly! Is he looking forward to secondary?

Ollie Goodness - what a lot of responsibilities you take on! I quite like those Fiat 500s. A friend has one in black - v chic. I used to have a mini (new one) and loved it but sadly swapped it for a more boring sensible one when DD was a few months old.

NY I like the sound of your dress and hair - can we see some photos?

Bloss you look fab - ignore the widescreen.

Terrible twos seem to be kicking in here - not fun!

blossoming · 30/06/2011 19:39

I'm surprised (and a little pleased) to see the sharkskin Agnes still on at full price on NaP.

Hello all. Just a quick post to ollie to thank you for the link to the new look sandals. Have bought two pairs. One for me and one for my sister. At that price couldn't resist!!!

blossoming · 30/06/2011 20:50

I may be joining you in raising a glass any minute clevery! I love that paperchase bag so much you can't believe. The strap is a great long length too!
Another thing about mil is I keep finding broken toys everywhere after a visit. She keeps toys from when her other grandchildren were small (eldest now 21), and gives them to mine, and they're broken, or dangerous, with parts missing, and jigsaws with pieces missing.. And I find dd playing with some monstrosity. DH pretends its not happening. If it was my parents though it would be such a different matter.
Anyway, happily, if you're around, the capris are back in stock in Zara here.
Off to open that wine.

emo, was this Beatrice's swimsuit?

OP posts:
blossoming · 30/06/2011 21:03

That was a great website, found by morag on another thread. I think I may have to have <a class="break-all" href="http://www.simplybeach.com/products/Seafolly/MattSeparatesHalterMaillot-Cinder.aspxwww.simplybeach.com/products/Seafolly/MattSeparatesHalterMaillot-Cinder.aspx" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this one.
Now I really am going.

OP posts:
happilyeverafter · 30/06/2011 23:16

Oh bloss you star, thank you. DD's head was looking super in navy capris and a green layered top yesterday, both Zara.

Can not tell if the instock option is black or navy, will order none the less as a good price. Do they size up pretty standard? Am still umming and ahhing over Reiss Minna, I do have lots of good tops but a further reduction would swing it.

Wore flesh sheer tights for first time since my teens today. Teamed with a pencil skirt that is too static/clingy with bare legs and was fine. Was questioned many times on if I was wearing tights as "it looks like you are not but your skin looks so perfect". Good testimony to Falke nudes!

nan. Sorry to hear of your loss.

clevery congrats on new job!

carciofi · 01/07/2011 06:58

Happily, it looks like the black capris are in stock. I think I might get a pair also.

Bloss, are they true to size?

My aunt left yesterday, I was sad to see her go. The baby had bad wind for most of the day so it was busy on my own and DH is not getting home before 9 though he promised to try to leave earlier. On the plus side, DD2 slept from 11.30-5am so that is pretty good! I am watching The Heartbreaker now, with Vanessa Paradis. I want to live in Monaco and carry an Hermes bag! Both very unlikely.

We went out for bread yesterday and was drawn by the sale sign into a local boutique. They had a massive box of toys so DD1 played happily while I tried on clothes. I bought a pair of Vanessa Bruno Athé grey cargo trousers, similar to houlihans but long enough that I can wear them in winter. And they are a size 10. :) Quite stretchy though.

Verity, aww, my niece has just finished primary school too. The Maje cardigan sounds fab.

LTEC, very cool shorts and I like the bag too.

Fritzi, are the Goldsign jeans really worth the money? I do love jeans.

I love this Whistles broderie top. I bought this top in black when I was pregnant, it is too big so need to ebay and buy the Whistles top with the proceeds.

Reine, don't bother to answer the door for those jeans!

Wan, hope your DH is ok. And you too.

I am still pondering bags. I think I prefer the Bayswater but can't really use it for a while so no rush to buy it. I think you need another Chanel, Bloss! I wish I'd bought one when I was still working.

Clevery, Pure should definitely refund you the postage. Congrats on the job.

Ollie, that is very cheeky of your neighbour!

Shred experts, will shred tone my stomach??

carciofi · 01/07/2011 06:59

Amber, good luck!

notyummy · 01/07/2011 07:15

Yes, good luck Amber!

Well done on the inprompu shopping trip Carciofi. Shred will def help with the tummy- plus 6W6P is good. And Pilates.

Am most put out because my hay fever woke me up at 0550 on my MLB-working day when I could have slept until 730. Now feeling tired and gave a long drive this afternoon. Grr!

AllBuggiedOut · 01/07/2011 07:18

Aargh, DS3's sports day. There will be a mother's race, and lots of Joules. What to wear please?!

notyummy · 01/07/2011 07:36

ABO- I went for fitted shirts (kind of cargo/combat style- with pockets etc) plus a Mango printed tee and bronze flat sandals. Took the sandals off to run in! Oh dear to all the Joules....Fine in moderation (although not my thing tbh) but scary prospect en masse. Not that much Joules in Lincolnshire apart from a few prep school enclaves! Think we are quite lucky in that the schools in general are pretty good, so not much need for private schooling, and intakes are quite mixed and diverse. Makes for fashion variety at sports day!
