Hi Ollie! Birthday was fab thanks, and kind of got in the way of computer time for ages. Have put a couple of pics on my profile - should be visible only to MN mates so if anybody would like to see and can't, let me know. The Milly was perfect, and has already had another outing last weekend for two 40ths in the same evening :)

AllBuggiedOut · 13/06/2011 18:46

And am touched I was remembered bloss :)

roary · 13/06/2011 18:55

Abo so nice to have you back. I do like that Reina dress and MmeC's project d dress (the others are lovely but not in stock in my size).

I had a very dis-spiriting trying on session after work! The Reiss dress made me look like a well-upholstered Dallas matron, a few others in Reiss no good (whatever the body shape there is not mine). LK Bennett had some options, but nothing great (the Wilding dress I think Pickled or Petit linked to was also thickening around the middle on me). That whole ruching at the waist thing is not good for me. (see the Janice) It may be that I am very self conscious about my belly at the moment but I really think that for me tailored dresses that nip in at the waist are where it's at. The best one at LKB was this one but I thought I might be able to do better and their sale dresses are final sale. I am slightly kicking myself for not buying the Davina in red which was fab on me.

The DVF Bec is great too but is sold out in my size!

Anyway, it's been great virtually shopping with you ladies. Mwah.

I wondered about some from Karen Millen?

VW Anglomania

LOVE the last KM one....Gooooorgeous...

blossoming · 13/06/2011 19:35

Have just been prancing about in my new Agnes, channelling EA and noticed that, while HoF call them grey ollie, mrscb, they are in fact sharkskin. Love them so much. I will be wearing them for lunch with the girls on Saturday. I may even wear heels, and keep flats in my bag!

Oooh roary, I really like the last KM one too!

Zembo · 13/06/2011 19:45

Evening ladies!

Firstly Congratulations Carciofi! Wonderful news and pleased to hear of minimal time spent in hospital.

Secondly, I'm going to become a full-time SAHM soon, yippee my redundancy application has been approved!!!! Grin I do feel a bit jittery about giving up my fairly well paid job though! It's definitely the right thing for me at the moment, will now have to negotiate reducing my notice period from 12 weeks so that I can be there for DD during her mega almost 9 week summer hols Shock

Bloss you look fab in your pics and even better irl! I chickened out of telling you when we met, but I think you've got a very sophisticated, sexy, self assured look about you.

NY that owl party sounded amazing

Some lovely links - esp all the cobalt blue ones. I ordered the cobalt topshop Jamies but I think they're a bit too tight on my thighs so will most likely be going back. Still hankering after the JBrand cobalt ones but not sure I'll get enough wear out of them to justify the £££.

Pickled hope I haven't missed your JBrand report!

notyummy · 13/06/2011 19:47

Hi Roary - sorry to hear that the dress didn't quite work for real!

I personally like KM, although some of the stuff slightly tips into wagdom. I have a few dresses from there however that I love, and I do like the last one you linked to.

redllamayellowllama · 13/06/2011 20:11

Sorry to hear nothing worked out Roary. I too like the last KM one. There's something a bit Strictly Ballroom about it, but I admire it more for that. Also really like the Project D one, but mig be a tricky colour (btw Mmecholet you are on bloody fire with the links at the moment).

Bloss, so pleased the trousers worked for you - I'm prancing in my new Nudies at the moment. Good times.

Brilliant news Zembo; hope you can negotiate for a shorter period successfully. I have worn my cobalt trousers to death - they really go with everything and are so easy to dress up/down.

ABO good to see you and glad you had a good birthday. You look goregous in the pics.

DH has very, very kindly offered to top up the handbag fund a shade, meaning we are now in Alexa territory. Do I/don't I? I love, love them and would use it constantly but it seems such a lot of money. Any other suggestions? Am going to head to Selfridges on Thursday and see what comes of it. It'll be like the shop scene in Pretty Woman.

blossoming · 13/06/2011 20:28

Thank you so much zembo. Really pleased you got your redundancy. Hope you get to finish soon.

redllama, bags have gone through the roof in terms of expense. You have the money so you could get the Alexa. If you think it's too much you could try Russell & Bromley. All my every day bags come from there. They cost around £250/£350 and are very well made imo. You may even find an Alexa homage! My first bag from there was an homage to the balenciaga lariat. I still use it 9 years later.

pickledsiblings · 13/06/2011 20:49

Roary, two dresses from Jigsaw that would look good on you for another time: here and here.

Zembo, great news about the redundancy, keep working on them. Just noticed today that SAHM is an anagram of sham Grin.

Red, take your time looking for the right bag, there are lots of lovely ones out there. You could perhaps start a thread asking folk what their favorite bag is.

pickledsiblings · 13/06/2011 20:50

Great pics ABO Smile.

MrsCampbellBlack · 13/06/2011 20:50

Zembo - I had to size up in the cobalts from tosho and the reviews said lots of people did [delusional]

Red - I'm a bit put off mulberry bags at the moment as think their pricing is crazy. According to local boutique owner they're pricing to compete with YSL etc which I think is a bit off. For me personally once it goes too much over £500 - I keep thinking hmmm I could be buying jewellery that I will wear forever when even the nicest bag gets boring after a while. I'd have a look at Anya Hindmarch too. Or actually had email from mulberry today saying outlet sales start soon so could be worth waiting and giving shepton mallett factory shop a ring if you find a style/colour you like.

Zembo · 13/06/2011 21:00

MrsCB what size did you get - I ordered the 26's and thought it was just my thighs!

notyummy · 13/06/2011 21:02

zembo- your thighs are small and perfectly. The jeans are obviously cut completely wrong!

redllamayellowllama · 13/06/2011 21:05

Oh how wise you all are! My problem lies in the fact that I am fairly unsuccessful (or have been) with shoulder bags. Cross-body works best for me. DH just told me he'd rather I spent £££(£?) on a 2.55 (admittedly he didn't know the name) rather than buying something which everyone would look at and know its name and price (should I hold him to this?!). And how much wear will I really get from it after, say, 5 years? Will have a look around R&B, as you suggest Bloss. LK Bennett too as I liked the Anna you linked to a while ago. Anya Hindmarch too I think MrsCB - I like the look of a couple online. What a lovely dilemma to have; I realise I sound completely self-absorbed and shallow. Will go and read something high-brow to counteract.

MrsCampbellBlack · 13/06/2011 21:05

I got the 28's and they are a little big on the thighs but ok round my waist but as they're higher waisted thats good on me as being an apple - I don't really have a waist

notyummy · 13/06/2011 21:07

Perfectly formed!
