New thread here!

OK, the jeans have arrived and I kid you not, they are all potential keepers except the Earharts - how funny is that Red.

The thing is, that even though I am really short, the whole zip thing works as you just open up to the desired length, tuck under and voila!

Bloss, those zips aren't even pockets Shock. They are a bit 'look at my hips' don't you think?

This is funny, the cropped J Brands fit perfectly. They are just like my TS Marthas that you can't buy anymore but that I still love.

Arrrrrgh!!!! DH will be the decision maker on this one. I will report back later.

ApuskiDusky · 14/06/2011 12:50

Hello! I'm trying not to look at links just yet so I don't get distracted. Marking place for later - am currently dressed in my 'decorating' clothes - so a very old pair of Levi 501's (nostalgia!) that I'm chuffed I can still fit into two babies on. Just been painting the bathroom (but hope to cheat, the decorator is coming round later to quote for the kitchen and hallway).

Off to look at a couple of rental properties tomorrow - a little premature for us, but these seem to good to pass up.

Carciofi, I'm about to FB request you as I am desperate to see photos! (I'm the one 'babywearing', initials DH). So glad to hear it went well.

redllamayellowllama · 14/06/2011 13:01

Pickled - can you keep them them all?! I too am a short-arse so am wondering if I've been misguided on the Earhart front . Am about to order them from Revolve, having given up on them going into the sale in my size here. Talk us through the other pairs!

Good luck house-hunting tomorrow Apuski!

Pictures up, let me know if you can't see them.

notyummy · 14/06/2011 13:11

I can't Red!

Good work Pickled - what are you going to do??

redllamayellowllama · 14/06/2011 13:12

Have just had an e-mail about DSis's hen number this weekend. I need to find a Spanish-themes outfit (thinking of doing this with accessories - hooped earrings, red lips and a flower in hair and then wearing black). More worrying, however, is the need for a swimsuit/bikini. I only own a maternity one, so have no excuses here. Links and links I think. What does anyone know about Violet Lake?

redllamayellowllama · 14/06/2011 13:14

Odd, you're on my Mates list and have set the photos to only be viewed by mates. What could I be doing wrong?

wideawakenurse · 14/06/2011 13:15

pickled sounds like the J brand order was a success. Tell us again exactly what you ordered and we can convince you to keep them all. Grin

nan sounds like you had a lovely time, where did you go whilst you were away. We were supposed to be going to Cornwall in a fortnight, but decided to postpone and put the money towards the moving fund. Am very envious though of the thought of clotted cream, and glasses scrumpy etc.

apuski am impressed with your DIY'ing. We have loads to do before we get the house on the market.

wideawakenurse · 14/06/2011 13:16

pickled, I can't click on your name at all.

redllamayellowllama · 14/06/2011 13:20

All fixed.

redllamayellowllama · 14/06/2011 13:29

MrsCB if you're around, is this the bikini you recommended? I remember you doing lots of research into them, so wondering if I can utilise it.

notyummy · 14/06/2011 13:34

Looking good in those pics Red.

What are you looking to emphasise/distract from in your bikini? I have ordered a few recently but not entirely successful!

notyummy · 14/06/2011 13:40

I also have another question for you ladies.

I am off to a ball in a couple of weeks. I have this dress that frankly I think looks a bit dodgy in the pic, but I love it on me [modest emoticon]. What shoes?? It is a formal event (as in there is a dress code of mid length or lower plus black tie for gents), but also it is effectively a big party. I was thinking of black wedges of some sort to allow me to dance the night away but would they look too clumpy? Am I better in heels, or would they odd with what is effectively a maxi?

I will have the option of popping back to DHs accommodation to change shoes if necessary Grin.

redllamayellowllama · 14/06/2011 13:41

Thanks NY. Everything is ok - it's more of a can I wear a bikini full stop. Although it is flat, I've got quite a lot of stretchmark scarring on my stomach, so I need to gauge how happy I feel exposing them as I haven't worn one since having DCs. Have checked that the Seafolly one is in stock and am going to pop along on Thursday - I don't want to risk ordering and it not arriving in time.

Annie this is the dress, although it's navy rather than black. It's not on the Whistles website, but was in my local one.

Will try the bikini and see. I'm ok with the way in which child-bearing has impacted upon my body, but it's a childless crowd and I'll be a little nervous. I now kick myself for not listening when my Mum warned me not to pierce my bellybutton...

blossoming · 14/06/2011 14:33

red, all I know of Violet Lake is that I love it love it love it

NY do you want to wear heels? I think you could wear a nice pair of flats with that dress and be comfy and do lots of dancing. I have the cheyne flats from Hobbs (annoying hobbs site, you will have to seek them on page). They would look great with that maxi! But then I am of the view that if you can avoid heels at a party they should be avoided because my feet hurt and I like dancing :)

I must leave work early again today to try on the KM dress. Will probably wear my trusty JCrew to drinks on Thurs and new dress on Tuesday to give me time to sort something out. Lots of the same people at both events so will want to wear something new. BTW I do think that NY's Reiss find would be spectacular on someone else!

Zembo glad redundancy worked out (feels strange to write congratulations on redundancy, doesn't it!)

Red I can't see your photos. Am trying to think of my other really good book recommendations. Nothing I've liked as much as Every Last One for ages but I did enjoy A Discovery of Witches ENORMOUSLY - great fun trash. And I really enjoyed this one too http://www.amazon.co.uk/Love-Always-Harriet-Evans/dp/0007350228/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1308059480&sr=8-1. Looks like vapid chick lit from the cover but was great read.

notyummy · 14/06/2011 14:59

I do have a pair of silver sparkly flats that might fit the bill Roary but because I know everyone will be in their best bib and tucker (that phrase just doesn't get used enough Grin) then I kind of feel that some heels would be making more of an effort (and more of an entrance...) I may have to change later though, especially because it is free flowing drinks all evening. Wink

Red - I am sure your tummy is nowwhere near as bad as you think it is. I guess you have to go with what will make you feel the most confident - if that is a swimsuit then there are plenty of cool ones out there.

OllieinOrange · 14/06/2011 16:45

Carciofi - can only repeat whats been said - you looked amazing in your FB pics. Effortless post natal chic!
ABO great pics - the Millie really is a great dress - its the detailing on it which lifts it as a LBD don't you think?
Rory am interested to see how the KM is on you. Like the look of it from the website - it def doesn't dip into WAGdom unlike some of their range. (Says she the owner of 2 KM coats!)
Zembo thats wonderful about your redundancy, hope you can cut the notice period.
Rufus the Sandro dress is lovely. I like your approach to sale shopping - v wise!
WAN so sorry to hear you are still ill - sore throats are horrible. Hope by resting tomorrow you will get better quickly.
NanAstley great holiday accommodation - I'm going to bookmark.
Red that dress really suits you.
Pickled I was only joking about keeping all of the jean! Seriously, I think if they fit you, why not. Sell it to DH by muttering about cost per wear, time saved not jean shopping for the next 3/5/7 years etc etc!
Fritzi I need to make up my mind re the LE dress - its fits nicely but not sure if I look too little girl in it! Still debating getting the P8 one tho...

Popped to the supermarket near my Dutch lesson and saw the shoeshop which had the wedge desert boots I linked to the other day was having a special one day sale - 25% off everything so took this as a sign and brought myself a pair! Seemed v comfortable from my little trot around the shop!

blossoming · 14/06/2011 18:31

I am at rugby. The only parent who has stayed to watch.
Thinking about pickled and her j brands. Glad you like them. I feel a bit 'raunchy' in the Agnes. They also need a thong underneath. DH won't know what's hit him! Or maybe not, I'm still not too sure how to explain them to him. I may pretend they're the gap ones and he's seen them before!!

OP posts:
AllBuggiedOut · 14/06/2011 18:32

Thanks for the compliments ladies. You definitely inspired me while I shopped for the Milly :)

zembo great news on the redundancy.

red I can't see your pics.

J Crew sounds like a great choice roary. I covet that dress of yours Wink. Does anybody know when they're going online in the UK btw?

ny would you have length problems swopping between flats and heels in a maxi? Wouldn't want you to be treading on your hem whilst dancing [been there, done that emoticon]

redllamayellowllama · 14/06/2011 18:45

Roary, ABO you should both be able to see now.

I have to say Bloss, you're selling these jeans! From the sounds of things, DH won't care where they came from or when they arrived.

Ollie that has got to be fate. Look forward to hearing what you put them with. Has been skinnies or flares for me, haven't been brave enough to wear with a dress.

Speaking of shoes, what were thought's on the Ash Jalouse boots here. I know they've been linked to before, but did anyone get them. Have seen some at a good price and thinking they could work for Autumn as well.

God, the list of things to look at/buy on Thursday is growing and growing; bikini, underwear, handbag, father's day present (what are other people doing?). Not that I'm complaining.
