Congratulations Carciofi!

Anniemac look on sale Derek Lam

This a great big bundle of no chance Derek Lam but I did love it.

PORTIA4 · 13/06/2011 21:37

loobylu3 · 13/06/2011 21:39

I haven't been at all good at keeping up recently but running in quickly to say a huge congratulations to carciofi. Now you have two gorgeous girls! You must be relieved to have had a nice quick labour second time around!
Will try to finish reading the last thread and this later.

AntPants1 · 13/06/2011 21:45

ABO you look lovely. Particularly like the dress with the gold shoes. I love a bit of bling!!!

zembo glad redundancy has worked out. Yay for summer days in the park

rufus101 · 13/06/2011 23:28

Hi all!
Carciofi, whew! 30 mintues after arrival! No pain relief! (ouch!) Welcome to the world baby girl. Wonder how long it will take to have you back on here?
Lovely dress ABO, you look gorgeous. I love Milly.
Glad to hear your first day went well Cleverly. (How great is your new name?)
Zeembo great news on the redundancy. I agree with you about Bloss' look, even though I haven't met her. ( I aspire to your style Bloss! Uncompromising, pared down chic, very EA (a style heroine of mine))
I have been very avid, and bought lots of stuff but I can't find any links online to link to.
Bought this Sandro dress for 80 euro in Brown Thomas. Looks like a sack in the pic, but it's very well fitted and looks lovely on. Very French. Was very tempted by this dress, but it was only 30% off, and I practically have a rule, that I will only buy 50% off in sales. Fabulous jacket, and again very tempted, but as only 20% off, I declined.
Got a lovely DVF dress (can't find a link) and DVF trousers which are definitely not boot cut and are flared. Again both half price.
Must not leave the house tomorrow or turn on my computer.(Although I am justifying all, as can be worn A/W, and dress as potential wedding outfit to my DB's wedding in August. (I'm good at this aren't I?)

OMG I am finding it very hard not to get overexcited in the sales. Must be wise. Must be wise. Far too avid here and need to pay for holiday so really have no funds. ABO if I remember correctly that's the Milly navy dress you have - I think it's gorgeous.

So many lovely links here!

notyummy · 14/06/2011 08:09

Zembo - so pleased to hear about the redundancy as I know it was what you wanted. 9 weeks is a looonnngg holiday - 6 seems bad enough to me!

ABO - you look fantastic in those pics and it looks like a good night was had by all.

Gorgeous buys there Rufus.

I am in my stripey Oasis dress with fitted jacket and wedges. Am being interviewed by a journalist today amd am not sure whether photos are needed or not, so thought i would make a bit of an effort. If photos are needed I may regret wearing not foundation, but time is such an issue for me that I resent the extra 3/4/5 mins it may take in the morning. Foundation gets worn about once a month on a big night out....

blossoming · 14/06/2011 08:29

I'm sure you look great notyummy. I have run out of moisturiser, and I have dry skin. I'll be in Chester on Saturday, so not too long to wait, but I'm finding the Bobbi Brown moisturising foundation fantastic. I am tempted not to buy another daytime moisturiser.
Thanks for lovely comments ants and rufus and everyone else too. You are all lovely and very kind. I wish you were all my RL friends!
Great photos abo, looks like you had a whale of a time.
Good luck with the dress hunt roary. I have the computer today so will be able to look at more links (dangerous indeed).
It is sunny, so the Agnes are coming out to meet the public! Can't wait.
Have a great day everyone.
Hope things are going well for you carciofi. The time I bought dc3 home were some of my happiest times. She was such a lovely baby, still is in fact.

wideawakenurse · 14/06/2011 09:46

Congratulations carciofi. Hope that you are home now and enjoying life with two carciofi-ettes. Smile This is a lovely time of year to have a newborn, bringing DS home on Christmas Eve, was a bit dark and gloomy.

Well, I am sick and off work. Cannot swallow anything, high temperatures etc. Have just organised for DS to have an extra day in nursery tomorrow as DH off on his golf trip, so hopefully I'll be on the mend soon for solo parenting. Keep focusing on the potential weight loss of flu.

notyummy · 14/06/2011 09:51

Oh dear - hope you feel better soon WAN - but I do understand your 'every cloud has a silver lining' approach to illness and weight loss Wink.

DD has a cough and sniffle and after two hospital trips with pneumonia (both of which started as a cough...) I get a bit twitchy!! Realistically I think she has a summer cold - I hope she is well enough for her school sports day tomorrow, as she has been looking forward to it.

carciofi · 14/06/2011 09:52

Hi all, thanks so much for the congratulations. I read the thread in hospital yesterday but couldn't reply. We came home last night. Dh and I were in shock at how quickly she was born, I thought I'd have hours to go and be sent home again. If it had been like this the first time, I'd have 3 or 4 by now! We went with Rosanna after all. I think it suits her. I put some photos on Fb.

Maybe LK Bennett can track down the dress you liked, Roary?

ABO, hope you had a very happy birthday. I was wondering where you were only last week!

Rufus, I like your sales rules! Lovely dress.

Sorry, have only looked at a few links.

Red, if you really love the Alexa and you have the money, go for it! I am in the market for a bag too. I am not buying any more clothes until I fit into the ones I have!

Bloss, hope my text didn't wake you yesterday morning. Sorry you didn't enjoy the races. You looked great. I want Hunters now.

Zembo, congrats on the redundancy.

carciofi · 14/06/2011 09:52

Wan, thanks and get well soon.

pickledsiblings · 14/06/2011 10:20

Hello Carciofi, how lovely to see you Smile. How is DD1 doing? This is a great time for her and DH to strengthen their bond. I remember how much I loved watching that.

Oh WAN, hope you feel better soon.

NY I hope DD isn't too affected by her cough and sniffle and that she gets to enjoy Sports Day tomorrow. Is there a kids equivalent of lemsip?

Bloss, what are you wearing with the Agnes'?

The sun is shining again and I have numerous things winging their way to me, including my new book group book and a hundred pairs of jeans.

Have a lovely day all.

blossoming · 14/06/2011 11:14

I'm wearing 'our' m&s breton pickled. I love them also with pretty tops: offsets the 'toughness' of the zips etc. So the Kew pintuck blouse, WC top and Jigsaw slouchy T.

Great to have you back carciofi. Will head off to FB when dd naps.

ooo...new thread Smile

Back from Cornwall, weather was meh but we did manage to go to the beach pretty much every day bar one (we went to the Eden Project to escape the rain Smile). So all in all, a very good holiday. The best thing about it was the holiday flat. It was just amazing! It's called Polmoor in Carbis Bay and if any of you are ever in that part of the world and looking for a stunning flat to sleep six, THIS IS IT. The flat came with a cupboard stacked with toys, so dd1 was over the moon. Also came with every possible thing you could need...wetsuits, bikes, picnic baskets, surboards, windbreakers, beach toys, even a fish pond. Seriously, it was just breathtaking. I would go there again.

Right, off to catch up on the thread Smile

pickledsiblings · 14/06/2011 11:41

Nice nude patent courts selection presumably put together by the lovely Lara.

Bloss, my M&S breton is currently stuck in the washing machine which I had to turn off mid cycle due to a loud high pitched sound emanating from the boiler.

dolceebanana · 14/06/2011 11:45

Congratulations Carciofi! Well done and welcome baby!

I agree re Mulberry mrscb...have been hankering after new one, but also put off on price, and the emblem is rather large. And, dare I say it, despite all those factors, they are getting a bit ubiquitous. I prefer discreet luxury. I would love the Chanel, still, of course. I love Tods bags too.

madammecholet · 14/06/2011 11:54

Carciofi that sounds like the best birth experience ever, you should have more!

pickled I am trying to lick the screen as those nude courts are so delicious..

Welcome back nan, that place looks amazing, always on the look out for somewhere nice....

I have blinkers on this week, as there are too many sale handbags out there which should really belong to me, and not someone else.

Off to cardiff now to see Robbie Take That....tickets only arrived today so no time to sell for sale handbag....Angry they had BETTER be good!

Emo76 · 14/06/2011 12:08

carcioifi there is a pink AH gracie in the matches sale!!

redllamayellowllama · 14/06/2011 12:15

So pleased it was a positive and quick experience Carciofi. Enjoy your first day together as 4! I hear you on the Alexa front, but think I have talked myself out of it. We'll see what happens on Thursday... Hunters on sale My-Wardrobe, as highlighted by Mmecholet yesterday.

Hi Looby, hope you're well.

Rufus some lovely buys there.

Clevery hope you enjoy your first day in new role; it must seem really weird.

Sounds a lovely outfit NY - hope the interview goes well.

Good to hear you had a lovely holiday Nan, may well check out your suggested flat as DHs brother and family live in Cornwall and we should really visit, but I'm incredibly reluctant to stay with them.

Enjoy Mmecholet, try not to daydream about handbags during the ballads.

Courts are exquisite Pickled - looking forward to the Jeans report in full.

I happened to pop into Whistles today (may have made the world's biggest detour to do so) and bought the most beautiful dress. As usual, it looks rubbish in the photos, but is so lovely on, will pop some pics on in a minute. I also bought the stripy top I was coveting and have decided I musn't buy anything of the breton/stripy variety for at least a year. Please disapprove of any future links.

blossoming · 14/06/2011 12:19

Don't worry, carciofi, your text didn't wake me. I was hoping it was you though and not Orange with my bill ready to view text!
It's great you had such a positive experience. Your picture on FB is just amazing. You look so fresh and glowing. After your first experience you really deserved a good one this time!

Welcome back nan. Wow, that apartment sounds amazing. It is lovely and warm here today but it's not to last apparently. Were you there on Sunday? What a grim day it was here!

Enjoy Take That mmecholet. Can you do some shopping beforehand? Nice shops in Cardiff these days.
