FritziGreenEyes · 15/06/2011 08:05

.... Agnes

petitdonkey · 15/06/2011 08:08

red - fab price on the Earharts, I would order some but I have no idea what size I would be. (12-14 normally). Might try them on at Donna Ida next week and then order. Wasn't taking the mick at all - In the second photo you look like you've got lovely, slim legs. I am also 5"4 and certainly don't look like you!!

Clevery - Great links, I like that handbag.

Pickled - I like both pairs of Agnes on you, Khaki best. I also Love your top!!

WAN - hope you feel better but your comment about weightloss made me smile!! Is it Devil Wears Prada - 'I'm just a stomach flu away from my goal weight'?!!

Apuski - I would just go for fab dinner then random wandering around soho picking up drinks/coffee as needed but that's my idea of heaven in London. The Woman in Black is a good play if that's what you fancy.

wideawakenurse · 15/06/2011 08:12

Hmmm, I'm more of a "I'm just a two week spell of dysentery in a climate of 40c away from my goal weight".

Stomach flu wouldn't even touch the sides, petit.

OllieinOrange · 15/06/2011 08:26

Pickled - I agree with Petit, the Agnes's really suit you in both colours (and fab top to wear with them btw!) God, I'm now tempted to get some grey ones. If I'm a 30 in Gap, would that be the same in Agnes?

Wore my grey WC tunic for the school run with Kew scarf and leggings and got some nice compliments - only ever happens when I wear English-brought stuff which says a lot about Dutch fashion I think! Am so pleased with my wedged desert boots too.

Homework awaits - last lesson tomorrow tho - whoo hoo!

OllieinOrange · 15/06/2011 08:27

Joules sale starts today online if anyone is interested.
Wonder when the Wrap sale starts?

redllamayellowllama · 15/06/2011 09:03

WAN hope you manage to do lots of napping today. I find old films and camomile tea to be the tonic when feeling awful.

Petit it says more about my leg paranoia then anything else. Must be more gracious. The Earharts are meant to be a looser fit, but run quite big anyway I think. A 30 would probably be just right, I reckon.

Pickled the Agnes' are my firm favourite - gorgeous in both shades, but if you were going to keep one pair over the other I'd go with Khaki. Lovely blouse too.

Apuski I know the EXACT feeling. We saw the perfect place online which I knew would go and DH stood firm on me not going down ahead of him (which is fair enough - family home and all that). Don't be disheartened though, this happened because the perfect place is round the corner. My idea of a perfect evening with DH would be a Saturday matinee at the Theatre (loads and loads of brilliant stuff on at the momen;t In a Forest Dark and Deep, One man, two guv'nors and Betrayal are all ones I'd like to get to), followed by dinner somewhere fab (Launceston Place maybe) and then on to a bar somewhere to get a bit pissed and giggly.

Monkey Music and a 3rd birthday party today. Am looking forward to getting my shop on tomorrow, I keep on writing lists in different places.

notyummy · 15/06/2011 09:22

Oh yes, One Man, Two Guvnors has had incredible reviews and I reckon would be a real hilarious, feel good thing to go and see.

pickled I also like both pairs of the Agnes ones the best. Looking good!

red I'm sure I've seen your pics before on here but can't see now. Strange!

Lots of shopping going on at the moment on here. Exciting! I have been inspired by bloss and have very sensibly picked up a pair of Hunters in the MW sale, pewter ones although they just look charcoal and not metallic from the picture. If they're too sparkly then they're going back - I just wanted something that would work with black, grey, khaki or indigo jeans for school/playschool run. Have also ordered some other bits and bobs but will link to any keepers when they arrive.

Who was it who mentioned stretchmarks? I have them all over my stomach (DS was a whopper) but as it was pretty much flat I wore a bikini all the time on holiday last year and actually felt pretty good. I think you notice them more than anyone else. They certainly didn't show up in the photos whereas I think they're glaringly obvious. So I'd say go for it.

pickledsiblings · 15/06/2011 10:15

Red, you have fab legs.

Thank you for your feedback ladies Smile. Ants and WAN, I have added you to mates.

I am sooo avid you will not believe it - I am currently sitting in a pair of Worn Onyx Agnes (black, gotta love the names). I sized up from 29 (which the Khaki are) to 30. Ordered these yesterday from Selfridges for £120. I am going to keep these and the Khaki ones.

Ollie, I tried a pair of jeans size US8 in Gap recently and they fitted perfectly. Is that a 30? NAP US have the Agnes on sale for $60 but for some reason (taxes + duties + ??) they come out at about £125. They don't hang around for long in the sales so you'd better get a move on.

If anyone would like any of the following J Brands, I'd be happy to forward them on and you could Paypal me:

Sharkskin Agnes, 29, £147

Vintage Pendelton Earhart, 29 (feel more like a 30), £159

Vintage Olive Houlihans, 30, £147

They may go on sale at NAP UK so keep an eye out.

Annie, I have added you.

Clevery, I'm sure you could cycle in kitten heels - you might end up on The Sartorialist. Good thinking on the jeans for every occasion. My thinking goes like this - fat day, Onyx Agnes, thin day Khaki Agnes Grin.

wideawakenurse · 15/06/2011 10:40

Thanks pickled. I think the Agnes Khaki look great on you, although I also like the olive Houlihans too.

Fleecy I agree with you about bikini wearing - if your happy to, then go for it. Strangely, I did not get any stretchmarks despite DS being a whooper too, but I have a pot belly instead. In certain clothes, I could easily pass for being 4-5 months pregnant. (Secretly wish I was as well Grin).

Well, I knew all this staying indoors would start driving me to think about shopping. I am taken with these.

DH has just left, he has packed for 30c weather. He made me laugh trying on his clothes last night! Anyone needing inspiration for Fathers day gifts, these Reiss polo tops are excellent, DH has a white one, and they are very good quality.

blossoming · 15/06/2011 10:42

I'm too late! I prefer the Agnes on you though pickled. Is your top cream? Maybe that's why it looks better with the kakhi (HoC etc).
ollie, what size did Trilogy put you in? Go up one from there I would Wink.

I have no stretchmarks at all. But I look 3 months pregnant at all times.

Well done on the Hunters fleecy. Isn't this a great week sales wise!

clevery, didn't realise you rode to work. I'm impressed.

I just had a stroke of luck. My kitchen downlighters are the bane of my life, and the 2nd bane of my life are local electricians and gas registered people. I just managed to nab my parents' electrician as he was leaving, he came in, did the job, I gave him £20, and he said it was too much, but promised to come when required in the future. I cannot tell you how happy that has made me.

OP posts:
pickledsiblings · 15/06/2011 11:03

Bloss, I know what you mean about the Electrician. I was so pleased when I eventually found the gardeners phone number after weeks of looking. A few days later he had mended the broken fence panels and fixed the pergola. It makes you feel so much better when you get those niggly jobs done.

Back to J Brands, those NAP ones look nice WAN, great colour.

AllBuggiedOut · 15/06/2011 11:13

Loving the voting on jeans! Wise choice pickled I think the houlis looked to casual on you.

apuski I love petit's suggestion of dinner and a wander round Soho. My idea of London heaven too. In fact it was doing that over two decades ago with my parents that made me want to go to uni in London, and I still love doing it now.

Delighted about your electrican bloss Grin

Have completely lost my shopping mojo; I can't get excited about the sales at all. I really need to do a good-old wardrobe audit. Or maybe I should just skip SS and start thinking about autumn's boots...

But while I ponder that, what cover-up layers are people wearing at the moment? I love wearing dresses at this time of year, or denim skirt with vest topw. But it's too chilly in the mornings. I have a denim jacket which I like but it's not good with the denim skirt. And I haven't found any cardies which I like. Any suggestions please?!

carciofi · 15/06/2011 12:26

Hi all, quick hello from me.
Pickled, I really like the khaki agnes on you.
Red, good buy on the Earharts!
Fleecy, I was thinking of buying those Hunters as well, must check if they still have my size.
ABO, I bought this cardigan recently, it's very nice on.
Baby waking back later.

blossoming · 15/06/2011 12:31

abo, this week I have had to resort to my Pure merino polo neck on 2 occasions!
Seriously though, I wear lots of cardigans this time of year. I'm sure you could find one that suited. I wear summer tops, but with a Hanro vest underneath, then a cardigan and a summer weight scarf to go out, then a light coat.
My best cardigans are a Boden boyfriend cardigan from last year in slate; this year's chiffon trim caridgan BTW J Brand sharkskin owners, the grey one goes lovely with mine! I have a 'favourite' cardigan in fuchsia, obviously not for you but.. and then for smarter occasions I have the bennett cardigan.

I do find skirts and dresses difficult in this climate and so am wearing, on rotation, J Brands in dark vintage, black and my new grey Agnes.

Question for you. I am having lunch with 2 friends from forever on Saturday. Celebrating their 40ths. Would the bobbi brown make up book and a voucher for a 45 min make up lesson suit for each do you think?

OP posts:
wideawakenurse · 15/06/2011 13:02

ABO I am wearing my blazer a fair bit at the moment, and if it's really chilly in the mornings then a scarf too. Slightly rolled up sleeves to make it a bit more casual.

Nice to see you carciofi, hope everything is going ok for you.

Bloss I think that's a good present idea, especially if they are into make up. Good thing about bobbi brown is that it is very easy make up to wear, suits everyone etc.

FritziGreenEyes · 15/06/2011 13:19

wan Hope you can rest today and will feel better by this afternoon!

bloss I would so love that as a present for my birthday!

abo I always wear my trenchcoat in the mornings.

All this talk of JBrands make me want a pair of Earharts Hmm.

So lovely to see you carciofi!!!

ollie I think you had on a 28 in the Houlis at Trilogy, so a 29 should be fine.

apuski Good luck with house hunting. Please do something for your birthday that you really want and that feels like a proper treat! I think I will have a really big party and have started researching locations although my birthday is in November Blush. Come autumn I will all drive you crazy with finding the right outfit Grin.

Where is vin?

blossoming · 15/06/2011 13:20

Thanks wideawake, we really are body twins you know!
I'm not sure they are that into make up really, but both work full time, so can't go to waste can it?

OP posts:
redllamayellowllama · 15/06/2011 13:29

Thanks for legs feedback, will learn to love them.

Wise choices pickled - much better to have 3 £££ pairs you love on rotation (a la Bloss) than 6 pairs that are all a bit meh, I think.

Fleecy - not that strange, just me being gormless. I switched from having pictures viewed by everyone to mates and forgot people. You're on now. V. Wise on the Hunters front, they'll get used loads, I reckon.

I'd be thrilled with that as a present Bloss. Lovely.

Good to see you Carciofi, hope your gorgeous bubs is feeding well and giving you some rest. The Malene Birger wrap is so lovely.

ABO it's cardigans here. I took the blazer I bought back as I just don't feel right in them. My cardis that I live in are from Zara and Uniqlo, but I quite like the look of this Kew one. Would be really useful I think.

Am spending longer and longer getting DS to have a nap these days. He's exhausted, he's playing up, but refuses to sleep. The days he goes without, he is foul beyond 5pm. He fannied about in his room for 45 minutes today and as soon as I lay down with him, was asleep in 3 minutes. It is a battle of wills, I think.

FritziGreenEyes · 15/06/2011 14:03

red Maybe take it as a sign that you should have a nap too? Wink

roary · 15/06/2011 14:14

Hi all,
My event dress shopping has been very depressing, I hesitate to write about it because I don't want to whinge but I think the issue is that I am not particularly happy with my shape just now and that has more to do with it than what's out there. But honestly it's probably not that bad and I am just being a bit oversensitive about it and I probably don't look that different to others. But I do to me. So more exercise for me!

But, hilariously, was trying things on in Phase 8 at lunch and saw the bloss maxi and then thought: Bloss is a spider. I am a spider. But Bloss looked good in Janice and I didn't. What the heck, tried it, and it's FAB. I love it and it's a keeper. Think I will wear it to the lounge suit fundraiser on Tues and my J Crew to the drinks tomorrow as that's an afterwork affair so most people will be in business attire and the maxi will stick out too much. What do you reckon? And what accessories do you wear with it Bloss?

AB0 I have been living in leather jacket which is great over dresses and this with everything. And a scarf.
