Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

Tell me about jumping the broomstick...

Please

NotActuallyAMum · 27/10/2005 16:43

I'm intrigued about that too Squirrel....

tarantula · 27/10/2005 16:57

Its a pagan 'marriage' rite and is done every year as it only lasts for a year and a day (the day being Samhain which isnt counted as part of the year)

NotActuallyAMum · 28/10/2005 09:02

That's lovely tarantula, never heard of that one before

Got 2 pictures of my monster outfit but can't load them in the member profiles!! Keep getting a message saying I can only upload image files (gif/jpg/png) - I don't know what that means!

How is everyone today?

tarantula · 28/10/2005 09:46

It means that the format that you downloaded the pictures in isnt one that can be uploaded to the web (probabaly a .tif file or somethig like that). If you open the picture and go to file - save as - up the top it will show you the folder it is saving it into and near the bottom will be the file name and under that the SAVE AS TYPE. you need to change the SAVE AS TYPE to JPG - Jepeg files. Then you should be able to upload it.

tarantula · 28/10/2005 09:51

Morning eveyone BTW

NotActuallyAMum · 28/10/2005 12:52

Mmmmmm, done that - now it's telling me the file can only be 100 something-or-other (!?) Don't know what that means either tho I've assumed it means the file is too big, not very bright when it comes to computer technicalities me....

So how is everyone today?

It's Friday AND we get an extra hour in bed tomorrow night

tarantula · 28/10/2005 13:11

yep the file is too big. what program are you usig to open it and Ill explain how to reduce the size of it.

Yippeee for Friday. So glad its the weekend. Ill be having the extra hour in bed too as Sunday is dp's day to get up with dd

NotActuallyAMum · 28/10/2005 13:24

Erm, program??

Sorry MsT but I really am buggered when it comes to things like this it opens up on Microsoft Photo Editor and I think the format is actually OK cos it ends in .jpg

Hope that's what you needed to know. Wonder if Squirrel can find a picture of a dunce hat for me There's a challenge for you Squirrel...

Looking forward to an extra hour in bed, although I always have a lie-in at weekends anyway

tarantula · 28/10/2005 13:32

cool gimme two mins and ill work out what you need to do.

Squirrel3 · 28/10/2005 13:33

Someone mention a pic of a dunce hat

Hello, don't worry NAAM, I'd be confused too!

Squirrel3 · 28/10/2005 13:34

Tarantula, oooooh you are a tech!

NotActuallyAMum · 28/10/2005 13:37

LOL Squirrel! I knew you'd be able to find one

tarantula · 28/10/2005 13:41

Damn aint got Photo Editor on my machine.

But what you need to do is go to the menu at the top (the one that has File, Edit, view etc on it). Click on each one in turn and look for an option that says resize or resize/resample. Once you have found this you can start playing around with how small you want the picture to be. I generally reduce by 25% at a time till its small enough.

Hope that makes sense

NotActuallyAMum · 28/10/2005 13:54

I've done it!!!

MsT you're a genius

I'm sure you'll find it without any pointers

tarantula · 28/10/2005 14:06

Hurrah!!! you look cool.

I used to be a computer Helpdesk Administrator so would be a bit if I couldnt explain stuff. Helps if you have someone like yourself with a bit of cop . Had a person once on the phone nad I said 'go to start then programs' and she said 'start? Wheres start???' Knew that was going to be a long call

Squirrel3 · 28/10/2005 14:17

Tarantula, think that pobably was me a few years ago!

When I was working in a Estate agents, it was my job to produce, run and up-date the web-site daily. Everybody complimented us on our web-site [proud emoticon].

When I left the company I decided to do a course at the local college and part of the course was basic eletronic mail (email). All I had to do was compose an email, send it and open one that was sent to me!!! To this day I don't know how I managed to fail it twice!!

Squirrel3 · 28/10/2005 14:25

This is my outfit, do you like it?

NotActuallyAMum · 28/10/2005 14:34

MsT - lol at "where's start?" Even I'm not that bad

Squirrel your outfit is wonderful. Still can't believe you found that dunce hat so quickly....

tarantula · 28/10/2005 14:40

thats soooo you Squirrel Where have you hidden your bushy tail.

tarantula · 28/10/2005 14:44

I do daft things on my computer all the time too esp if I ahve to use word or Excel. I tie myself in knots over it.

Squirrel3 · 28/10/2005 15:05

I hate Excel, it took me soooo long to learn it, Still can't remember how to do if statements, never really got the hang of them, don't know how I passed the exam!

tarantula · 28/10/2005 15:10

If statements? emmmmm not sure Ive ever messed with them yet.....

Squirrel3 · 28/10/2005 15:22

Excel uses the IF word for conditional logic. You can test what is in a cell, and say what should happen if it is one value rather than another. For example, suppose cell A1 has the number 6 in it. In cell A2, you can enter an IF function to test whether cell A1 is above 5 or below 5. IF it is above 5 THEN one thing happens; IF it is below 5 THEN another thing happens.

I hope that clears it up for you, lol

Like I said "I hate Excel!"

Squirrel3 · 28/10/2005 15:30

Enough of Excel,

Its halloween on monday.

Its better with sound BTW.
