Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

NAAM, you've got to do it!

Go on, I dare you!

NotActuallyAMum · 26/10/2005 15:37

Tee hee - hadn't thought of that, definitely going to do it I'll try to get a pic when I'm standing near a doorway so that it gives an idea of the size of the thing

I've told DP he has to be the monster till I get in at half past 5 - he's having none of it! Says he's not as daft as me!! Don't know what he means...

Squirrel3 · 26/10/2005 15:46

Looking forward to seeing it!!!

When my kids were small I got them to draw little pictures on pieces of paper of anything halloweeny (about the size of a playing card) with the words "thank you" somewhere on them, and when they went trick or treating and they were given some sweets they gave the 'givers' (even those that didn't sometimes) a pic to say thank you.

NotActuallyAMum · 26/10/2005 15:56

That's a nice idea Squirrel, be nice for going carol singing too

Going to hunt my camera down later and get DP to take some pictures of me in my outfit so that I can get them developed in time for Monday then I can get our computer man to scan it and put it on my desktop Haven't got a digital camera - I'm not quite that technical!!

FruitAndNutcase · 26/10/2005 17:06

Hi all, soz been away for a couple of hours. Squirrel, yes we are still going to try for a baby after Christmas

All this talk of Halloween makes me love, I too would love to see your costume NAAM. We havent got the kids for halloween this year, so we will have a quiet one, although we will get loads of trick or treaters, so will get loads of sweets in!!! One for them............... five for me....... lol

FruitAndNutcase · 26/10/2005 17:06

lol.......... makes me "laugh" not love! soz, been a long day, been in work since 7.30am!!!!!

NotActuallyAMum · 27/10/2005 11:35

Couldn't find my camera last night ... but I've borrowed a digital from work for tonight

Just need to fathom out how to work the thing now but I'm assured it's not difficult. So my monster photo should be on tomorrow, tee hee can't wait

How is everyone today?

Squirrel3 · 27/10/2005 12:14

Hello NAAM, can't wait to see it!

Squirrel3 · 27/10/2005 14:04

Specially for you NAAM

Squirrel3 · 27/10/2005 14:34

OK what about this

NotActuallyAMum · 27/10/2005 14:42

They are so funny!! Told DP about them at lunchtime, said I'd show them to him when we get our own laptop. Took me ages to tell him cos I couldn't stop laughing. Think he's still getting used to my sense of humour....

Only 8 weeks to Christmas, hmmmmmm. Means I'm another year older in 5 weeks When I turned 30 I started going backwards so I'll be 26 this time tee hee

Squirrel3 · 27/10/2005 14:47

Well, I'm younger than you, I'm 20!

NotActuallyAMum · 27/10/2005 14:50

Don't quite know what I'm going to do when I get back to 18 - might start going back up then go back down when I get to 30 again

Squirrel3 · 27/10/2005 14:52

If that's what we are doing I expect a really big 21st party next year!

Squirrel3 · 27/10/2005 14:55

Dont think I'll pass for 18, 20 maybe (in a bad light... to a blind man who has had half a bottle of Jack Danniels!)

NotActuallyAMum · 27/10/2005 15:04

Talking of age....

My sister works in a small local shop in the village where she lives and last week a customer said to her "are you who I think you are - you're xxxxx's wife aren't you?" xxxxx being my Dad!! Oops!!!! She said "you cheeky git, I'm his daughter!" Apparantly he couldn't get out of the shop quick enough...

When she told me I was laughing so much I nearly fell off the sofa

Squirrel3 · 27/10/2005 15:16

I've been mistaken for my step-childrens sister before

But then again the same person thought that dp was their grandad not their Dad!

NotActuallyAMum · 27/10/2005 15:18

Bet that went down well with your DP

Bought my pumpkin last night so I'll be carving that on Sunday and I bought some sweets to give to the trick or treaters. Trouble is I've made the big mistake of opening them....bet I'll be buying some more on Sunday or Monday

Squirrel3 · 27/10/2005 15:21

Think I'll get DS to carve the pumpkin this year, he is very artistic (as well as being an excellent musician etc) [proud mummy emoticon]

NotActuallyAMum · 27/10/2005 15:27

I'm not artistic at all - I cheat and copy my pattern out of a book It works though, they look really good

I'm really looking forward to Halloween, and the day after - DP is having dsd, we're having fireworks and I'm going to do hot dogs/burgers etc. Looking forward to Christmas too. I could never enjoy these occasions properly when I was with my exP cos he was such a miserable git! Think that's why I'm such a big kid now

Squirrel3 · 27/10/2005 15:35

Sounds like a good time will be had by all!!!

The step kids go home sunday evening so it will be just us, ds's a bit to old for halloween now he will probably be at his band practice anyway.

Just found this thought you might like it!!!!

tarantula · 27/10/2005 16:19

I love halloween so much. It reminds me of my childhood. Really hope its fine cos might have a bonfire

Squirrel3 · 27/10/2005 16:23

Hello Tarantula, you and NAAM are making me feel as if I should really do something for halloween this year now, maybe I should get dressed up and scare the local kids.

tarantula · 27/10/2005 16:34

lol with me its a cultural thing tho as Halloween has always been celebrated in Ireland with all the kids dressing up and going out on the 'pooka' and carving turnips and snap apple and ducking for money and of course bonfires. It was always quite a low key event but great fun too.
Am also very interested in the Paganism (hence dp and I jumping the broomstick together) and history in general and how customs develop.

NotActuallyAMum · 27/10/2005 16:38

Got the digital camera DP says he'll take some photos later so should have them on member profiles tomorrow but I'll let you know on here. Tee hee, can't wait

Just hope you don't all think "huh, is that it?!"

Go on Squirrel - do it! It's so good when you see their faces cos they think they're the ones who are going to do the scaring!

Tarantula I said earlier if it's like this on Tuesday (we're having fireworks for dsd) I might get the barbeque back out of the shed
