Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

PMSL

Squirrel3 · 25/10/2005 06:04

Its 6.00am and I'm still ROFL at the "large pair of pants".

NotActuallyAMum · 25/10/2005 09:21

So how was everyone's weekend? I had an extra day off but I don't feel like I did....

Squirrel3 · 25/10/2005 09:25

Why? What did you get up to then?

NotActuallyAMum · 25/10/2005 09:45

Nothing in particular, had a very idle day yesterday - we did absolutely bugger all
But I feel worse than if we'd been working all day!! They do say that doing nothing makes you tired...

How are you? How was your weekend - have you heard from your dd?

Squirrel3 · 25/10/2005 09:45

How is your boss, dp's friend in Mexico (even though he was evacuated to a safer area) phoned and asked him to get in touch with the British Consult, because at the hotel that they were evacuated to the first two floors were under water and thier were British/Canadian/American people in there with broken arms, legs etc. Don't understand why there wasn't more on the News about the destruction in Mexico.

He had to write all of their names and details down and pass them on, sounds terrifiying.

DP's family are ok, the front and back doors were ripped off, the garden totally wrecked and a tree fell down on top of his brothers truck, but no injuries thank God.

NotActuallyAMum · 25/10/2005 09:47

Glad they're OK - I was thinking about them over the weekend when I was watching the news

My boss is OK but not back home yet. Bet he's really fed up!! But at least he's OK which of course is the main thing. Think they're travelling back today

Squirrel3 · 25/10/2005 09:48

Posts crossed, no I haven't heard from dd I have written a letter to her (she wont answer my calls).

Its really difficult to explain it to her as ATM she is very easily upset, but I don't want her to "hold a gun to my head" every time she doesn't get her own way.

NotActuallyAMum · 25/10/2005 10:10

Quite right too - and she certainly is trying to hold a gun to your head at the moment

Totally agree about the lack of news coverage about the destruction in Mexico. I started to think over the weekend that it can't be that bad because hardly anything had been mentioned but then I caught a sentence - just one - from a newsreader saying something like "Mexico's tourist resort of Cancun has had a direct hit" and that was it!!

Squirrel3 · 25/10/2005 10:50

Its lucky that dp's friend is a fireman and used to dealing with emergency situations, kept a level head (while others were panicking around him) and took control.

Our firemen are heros aren't they?

Squirrel3 · 25/10/2005 16:27

Where is everybody?

NotActuallyAMum · 25/10/2005 16:46

Had a busy day today - that'll teach me to have a day off!!

Wonder where everyone else is, perhaps they're having to do some work too. It's not on expecting us to work, how dare they???

Squirrel3 · 25/10/2005 16:48

No, don't they know that it cuts into MN time?

Squirrel3 · 25/10/2005 16:51

Dont know where Tarantula is usually the mere mention of this usually gets her attention!

FANC is probably working hard again

NotActuallyAMum · 25/10/2005 16:58

FANC works far too hard - bless her!

I'm going to look for a carpet for the stairs now, I HATE SHOPPING!! DP is at work till 10, he's left it in my capable hands to choose one on my own (that means he hates shopping too so he's wormed his way out of going!!)

See you all tomorrow

Squirrel3 · 25/10/2005 16:59

Bye, happy carpet hunting, talk tomorrow.

NotActuallyAMum · 26/10/2005 10:49

Morning all

Didn't find a carpet, fed up of looking now... but I refuse to just buy one for the sake of it so I'll keep at it

How is everyone today??

FruitAndNutcase · 26/10/2005 11:43

Morning all, morning NAAM, sorry to hear you didn't get a carpet, go for wood flooring much cheaper and easier! Lol (unless its for the stairs that is [wink).

Sorry I havent written on here for a while, been sooooooo busy, but have looked in from time to time to see that you are all still here. Im always thinking about you all though and love it when I do finally get a few minutes (like now) to chat!

tarantula · 26/10/2005 12:03

Hello people Hows everyone today. glad to hear all the friends/rellies in Mexico etc are safe. Am also amaxed how little there was in the news about it all.
I was off yesterday as had a wee accident on the way into work. Large dog jumped out on me while cycling down a dark and muddy lane and I crashed into a gatepost and fell into a very large and muddy puddle. . Got a lovely bruise from the gatepost.
How the carpet hunting going today NAAM?
Too much work isnt good for you y'know FANC

NotActuallyAMum · 26/10/2005 12:04

Hello FANC

Unfortunately it is for the stairs (boo!) but I don't really like wooden floors anyway - fussy git me

Me and Squirrel reckon you work too hard and you should have more time to come on here and chat

How are things with you?

NotActuallyAMum · 26/10/2005 12:07

x posts MsT

How are you today?

My boss is still not back from Mexico yet - bet he's really p*ed off! He is OK tho which of course is the main thing

Not going carpet hunting now till the weekend - DP can come with me then, don't see why he should get away with it

FruitAndNutcase · 26/10/2005 12:12

Hi Tarantula and NAAM, Lol @ your biking accident Tarantula, I would sue the dog if I were you lol!

NAAM glad to hear your boss is okay in Mexico, its terrible isn't it? Im fine thanks, very busy (for a change) but will try and keep popping on here throughout the day

NotActuallyAMum · 26/10/2005 12:43

Wonder where Squirrel is today? It's not like her not to come on all morning, hope she's OK

I finish for Christmas 8 weeks today

Bet you all really wanted to hear that....

Squirrel3 · 26/10/2005 13:26

Someone mention my name?

Squirrel3 · 26/10/2005 13:32

Tantantula, I hope you are ok after your accident, are you sure that the dog wasn't BM in disguise?
