Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

Mine was good thank you, DP worked mornings (his shifts are awful!!) so he was home by half 1

This weekend we're going to Manchester on Saturday to watch the England match - can't wait

How was yours?

tarantula · 03/10/2005 10:49

Hello all ( and goodbye too as Im off home in a few mins ). Hope everything goes really well for your dgd today NNN. Ive got everything crossed for her. oooooo a new computer wow how posh is that!!

glad to hear you had a good weekend NAAM. Mine was ok too. We had dss over. Its his b'day on Thrusday so I made him a cake nad we had a nice tea on Saturday evening. Im trying to presuade him to buy a new bike and Ive said Ill put in his birthday adn Xmas money and a bit extra towards it if he saves up the rest from his other b'day money but he doesnt seem at all keen. ~sigh~ Dunno why Id have jumped at the chance to get a decent bike at his age. Still if he doesnt then I wont have to pay out the extra so I guess thats the good side.

Anyway better get back to work and Ill hopefully login tonight so let us know how things go NNN

NannyNooNoo · 03/10/2005 10:54

It was ok thank you NAAM, we had the s.kids, took them to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Sat, then we has dp's mum and dad over for Sunday lunch.

My DS's girlfriend has gone off to university in Southampton (we live in Kent) and he decided to go there for the weekend. He managed to get to southampton ok (in under 2 hours) but when he got there (Southampton)he got really lost and spent another 2 hours trying to find the halls of residence!!!

There was me on the computer with the street map up, trying to give him directions, but he kept on taking the wrong turns!!!! Landed up telling him to go to a garage and buy an A-Z!!!! When at last he found it he realized that he had almost gone past it several times!!!!! Bless him, he's only 19 and he only passed his driving test a few months ago!!

The good thing is that he intends to spend every weekend there so dp and I get to have every other weekend on our own, which has never happened!!!

Talking of dp he is really trying soooooo hard now, he is being really affectionate and loving again, think he realized just how close he came to losing me.

NannyNooNoo · 03/10/2005 10:55

Hello tarantula,

Bye tarantula.

Talk to you later.

NotActuallyAMum · 03/10/2005 11:22

I could really eat that breakfast....just had some toast at break that's made me feel a bit better

LOL at your ds

Glad your DP is trying hard - I think you're right, he probably does realise how close he came to losing you. It's nice that you'll have some time on your own now, I don't think I'd cope if we didn't get some time to ourselves! We're quite lucky like that cos with me not having any children we do get quite a lot of time together even tho DPs shifts are a pain in the rear!!

NannyNooNoo · 03/10/2005 11:33

AAAAAArgh!

Just phoned DD because she is late bringing DGS round and it sounds like her and her DP (the D standing for drop-kick!) are having a row! DD is in tears couldn't get much sense out of her, I hope he is still taking her, DD will not get a train (to difficult with her back and a baby etc)

Why are men so stupid!?!?!

Why couldn't they just sort it out just for one day for Lea's sake!?!?

NotActuallyAMum · 03/10/2005 11:44

Surely he must realise they HAVE to make this hospital appointment! What an idiot!!

for you, he really does sound like a complete tosser! Have they split for good now or is still on and off?

I'm sure dgs will be with you soon x

NannyNooNoo · 03/10/2005 12:29

DGS just arrived, (thank God)!

DD and her DP have been on/off about twice a week since Lea was born!!!!

DD has got PND caused by the situation and his attitude. They have been together since DD was 13 and in all of that time they must have split-up got back together at least a thousand times, they are off more than they are on. He has even got another girl pregnant whist they have been together!!! He is violent too!!! What a waste of space, but DD has been brain washed by him onto thinking that it is her fault and she couldn't get anyone better than him anyway!....

And there is nothing I can do apart from keep picking up the pieces and to try to give advice (which she takes no notice of as far as he is concerned). Every time they get back together she says "but, he has changed!"

I get so worried about her sometimes.

Anyway, after the rant I've got to go for a while the Cbeebies web-site is calling to DGS. I'll try to look in ocasionally (when he lets me!)

NotActuallyAMum · 03/10/2005 13:28

No wonder you worry about her NNN!! You're right tho, there's nothing you can do except be there to pick up the pieces for her. What a shame, she deserves better than that - hope she sees sense one day and walks away from him. No-one should have to live like that

I'm feeling a bit better now - hangover going, albeit slowly tee hee! Still really hungry tho, got to do my own dinner today too cos DP has gone out for a drink this afternoon with his friend - how dare he?? Only kidding of course, he doesn't go out very often, I've got to pick him up later which should be quite funny, I like it when he's drunk and I'm not cos he talks for ages about nothing and laughs at everything

I want a job like tarantula so I can go home at 11

NannyNooNoo · 03/10/2005 15:36

NAAM, It'll be your dp with the hangover tommorrow then!!

Glad yours is getting better.

Here is something that might help, if you don't need it give it to your dp tommorrow morning!! lol

NotActuallyAMum · 03/10/2005 15:50

Lol NNN

Has your dd come back yet?

NannyNooNoo · 03/10/2005 20:08

NAAM, yes she is back, came back around 10 mins ago, and they have said that Lea is going to be fine!!!!! Her hip joint is growing nicely, they want to see her again in 3 months just to make sure!!!!

Its a bloody miracle!!!! She has gone from being the worst case that had been seen in the local hospital to them being quite confident that if it keeps on growing like this it will become normal!!!!!!!!!

I can't stop

I'm a happy, happy , me

tarantula · 03/10/2005 22:35

Yes 11 weeks and 3 days - and counting! But only cos I get almost 2 weeks off work Must get a home computer sorted cos I don't think I can manage 2 weeks without MN [worried emoticon]

Ninah are you really due on Christmas day??? Hope you're OK, remember we're here if you need to grumble

ninah · 06/10/2005 13:27

yup, Chrismas Day for me!
thanks NAAM!

Squirrel3 · 06/10/2005 13:34

Ok, you can have a small but unusual glass!

Sorry to hear about you and DP, hope you can sort it out, you will always be a step-mum, honorary or other wise.

This Christmas will be a busy one for you this year!!!! Funnily enough DP and I were talking about what we would do about birthdays if one of our kids had been born on Christmas day. Would be one big celebration or two smaller ones, would it be christmas pressies in the morning, then birthday pressies after lunch. Have you thought that far ahead?

Squirrel3 · 06/10/2005 13:36

Thank you NAAM, sorry I wasn't around to drink it though!

I'll have a couple (or three) glasses now!

NotActuallyAMum · 06/10/2005 13:55

Hope you enjoy them Squirrel

Funnily enough DP and I had a conversation about birthdays around Christmas a couple of months ago - mine is early December and that's close enough! I used to work with someone who's dd was born on boxing day - they used to buy her presents on June 26th so that the two were evenly spaced out and there was a definite distinction between birthday and Christmas presents. Don't know if I'd do this tho but it's certainly different

Squirrel3 · 06/10/2005 14:05

We (dp and I) came to the conclusion that we would have a big party in June, a sort of a happy unbirthday party!
