I'm good thanks Naam. Hen night was brill on Saturday. Got in at 1.30, and had dsd's trying to wake me up at 8.30 by shouting 'cock-a-doodle-do' at the top of their voices! Bless them! It didn't stop me going back to sleep until 10 after dp had took them downstairs for breakfast . Unfortunetly I've got another one coming up this Saturday too, how am I going to cope?

NotActuallyAMum · 11/07/2006 11:27

Lucky you

Glad you had a good time. Blimey, 2 nights out in a week?? Can't remember the last time I did that. Mind you, we'll be out every night while we're on holiday so I'm not grumbling

mummyno2 · 11/07/2006 11:37

Dp owes me. He's off to Germany for a couple of nights on business in the next few weeks, and is going to Holland to see his footie team play a friendly which involves an overnight stay in August. So I think I deserve it. Hehehe.

Squirrel3 · 11/07/2006 11:55

Can't remember the last time I went out!

Luck you Mummyno2

Don't think I will be able to get on MN at work

Where are alligator and reflection?

I can see I am going to have to do this!

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 11/07/2006 12:30

You definitely deserve it mummyno2 What football team does he support? [nosey emoticon]

lol Squirrel Must get my computer at home working again, I only have to make a phone call [lazy emoticon]

Yes good question, where are alligator and reflection? Loopy hasn't been on for aaaaaaaages either

mummyno2 · 11/07/2006 12:50

Charlton, so he's harmless really!!! . The most exotic (sp?) place my team play friendlies is Harefield and not Holland and Spain .

Going to a meeting now and won't be back until tomorrow. Have a good un.

Squirrel3 · 11/07/2006 12:58

Football! Zzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Squirrel3 · 11/07/2006 13:29

Somebody please come and do my housework, I can't be arsed today!

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 11/07/2006 13:38

PMSL

I can never be arsed to do housework, it's always a real struggle. Got loads of ironing to do tonight, I'd rather do that than cleaning. Come to think of it, DP can clean whilst I iron - I think that's fair

Squirrel3 · 11/07/2006 13:41

Ironing? Whats that?

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 11/07/2006 13:46

It's that hot thingy that gets the creases out of things and reaaaaaaaaally hurts if you accidentally touch it. And it'll break your toe if you drop it onto it, as my sister once found out

Squirrel3 · 11/07/2006 13:49

No sorry, I don't understand.....

Ouch! that must have really hurt!

If you like ironing you can do mine if you like...

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 11/07/2006 13:57

Wouldn't exactly say I like it, just rather do that than any other form of housework LOL

It was years ago my sister dropped the iron on her toe - must be 20 years ago but me and mum still tease her about it, she did a kind of 'jig' around the house it was so funny. Not for her no doubt but she'd have laughed if it had been me

Squirrel3 · 11/07/2006 14:07

You've gone and made me feel guilty now, I might have to go and get the ironing!

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 11/07/2006 14:34

Nah - too warm for ironing. Well it is here anyway

Giving out a lovely weekend here too, hope it holds on for our holidays you go the day we come back

Squirrel3 · 11/07/2006 14:50

I'm looking forward to the weekend then.

I hope it stays nice for our holidays!

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 11/07/2006 15:02

Not looking forward to trying to get all our luggage in the car, you know what teenage girls are like! We've told them all to only take what's necessary but I can hear them already "But I really do need 10 pairs of shoes, 20 pairs of jeans and 35 tops!" We've asked the two friends to bring their stuff by next Wednesday so that we've got time to tell them they can't take it all

Squirrel3 · 11/07/2006 15:11

You have just reminded me, one year when we went away BM packed 32 tops for dsd but only 1 pair of socks!

Yes I did say 32 tops! and 27 skirts/jeans/shorts! But only 7 pairs on knickers!

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 11/07/2006 15:20

dozy mare!! Ought to have been the other way round if anything - plenty of underwear but not too much of anything else

The first time I went away with DP and dsd, BM packed 14 carrier bags in the suitcase all labelled

Saturday - day outfit
Saturday - night outfit
Sunday - day outfit
etc. I reckon she thought DP and I were bloody thick!

A work colleague has offered to lend us a roof box. Don't know whether to take her up on it or not, part of me thinks it'll just make the girls think they can take more! The caravan is 3 bedroomed but as with all caravans there's not a lot of storage space

alligator · 11/07/2006 15:35

PMSL at all this luggage 32 tops Squirrel? I dont even possess that many tops I dont think.

I know dss will be packing light for the hols. Out trouble is to get him to pack enough. He came over last weekend with 3 pairs of heavy trousers and 2 long sleeved t-shirts with the weather that was in it.
Sorry to hear you have all had stress this weekend. I've not been too well. Reckon I had a dodgy pint cos everyone else was ok (and it certainly wasnt a hangover not on 2 pints unless I'm becoming a total lightweight )

Squirrel3 · 11/07/2006 15:46

Hello alligator! Hope you are feling better now.

Yeah we all know BM is mad! Last year ds turned up with 1 pair of jeans, 2 pairs of shorts and a few t-shirts. Don't know about the underwear, I've only just though about it, he didn't give me any to wash, don't tell me he wore the same pair for 2 weeks! [yuk emoticon]

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 11/07/2006 15:51

Hello alligator

Think this is definitely a teenage boy thing. When my brothers kids came to stay on Saturday night the two girls both brought enough for a week and their eldest brother brought a tiny 'school pump bag' type of thing - and even that wasn't full
