How did it go Naam? Did you tell dd what the school councellor said?

OP posts:
Squirrel3 · 22/06/2006 12:52

Sorry I meant dsd of course.

Very tired, had step-children last night, dp snored like a drain so no sleep.

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 22/06/2006 12:55

Hello squirrel

You just beat me Had a busy morning

She already knew. Apparantly DP got it a bit wrong (as per bloody usual!! he is so useless with words!!!!) What happened was, dsd had a talk to the councellor then she asked dsd to ring her dad and ask if it was OK for her to talk to him, so dsd phoned DP, he of course said yes - dsd then passed the phone to him. So she heard the conversation, well, she heard what the counsellor said anyway obviously she couldn't hear what DP said. What the counsellor actually said was that she is going to ring BM and talk to her and depending on what her response is then she may have to ring social services but she hopes it won't be necessary. So I predict that she won't ring SS but she'll ring the men in white coats tee hee

How are you?

And where's everyone else?? Hope everyone's OK

Squirrel3 · 22/06/2006 12:58

lol at the men in white coats remark.

Apart from falling asleep at the computer I'm ok, how are you?

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 22/06/2006 13:05

I'm OK thank you, bit tired too but I've been permanently tired since dsd moved in lol. I sooooo miss my lie-in at weekends

I really would make DP sleep on the sofa if I were you, honestly no way would I go without sleep because he is snoring

Meant to say, I do realise that BM is still going to go loopy...not a lot we can do about it though except wait for the eruption

Squirrel3 · 22/06/2006 13:20

Of course BM is going to go loopy and you are right you just have to wait for the eruption, then go from there.

Do you have to get up early at the weekend? I know my stepkids will sleep in until 11am if you let them. Why do you have to get up when dsd gets up anyway? she is old enough to get her own breakfast and amuse herself for a while. Have a lie in this weekend - go on I dare you - dsd will be fine I promise you, if anything happens you are only just upstairs - If my dsd wakes up early she just goes downstairs and puts kids TV on until we get up and she hasn't managed to burn the house down once.

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 22/06/2006 13:42

I should stay in bed if I want to, I know, but I just don't seem to be able to get back to sleep when I know she's up. Once I wake up I just lie there restless. I'm hoping it gets better in time, she's only been with us 2.5 months so I hope I'll be able to do it in time. The annoying this is though that when she's anywhere else she stays in bed till at least 10 o'clock!! Wish she'd do it all the time

But I will try on Saturday morning....

Did you get a present sorted for your brother?

alligator · 22/06/2006 13:42

Hello everyone Mega busy today. Was away on a conference yesterday. Hope everything goes ok with BM NAAM. thats not a good situation.

Hope that it was just a blip with dsd Squirrel. Fire pits a fab idea BTW.

Might get back on for 5 mins later to chat. If not have a good w/end all. I'm off tomorrow thankfully.

Anyone read the thread on boys clothes BTW and not dressing them in camo. PMSL.

NotActuallyAMum · 22/06/2006 13:42

We have decided on a fire-pit for my bro, will have to go and get it tomorrow (dp is having the day off).

Got a driving lesson tomorrow morning with the new instructor (the good one) I will tell him I 'sacked' the other one, and ask him to give me some practice tests. If I do well I will put in for my test. [nervous grin]

Hello squirrel hope the party goes well and the weather's in your favour

I've just done my first ever Tesco online shop, it's being delivered between 6 and 8 on Saturday. If it goes to plan I will very rarely go food shopping again what a lovely thought

Surfermum · 23/06/2006 14:24

Hi everyone, just popping to wish you all a great weekend. I'm on a bit of a high as I managed to lose 2.5lbs last week despite eating loads of naughty things. And I won the raffle at slimming world!

NAAM, that's a real worry about your dsd, I hope she's OK. Poor thing, but at least she has found someone she can open up to.

Squirrel - where are you going in Cornwall?

NotActuallyAMum · 23/06/2006 14:53

Hi surfermum Big congratulations on your weight loss - I've fallen off the wagon big time, yet again....

dsd is OK - she was just a bit upset last week because she fell out with her nan and DP and I were away so she spoke to the counsellor, she's said she doesn't need to see her again - although the counsellor said she'll see her to update her after she's spoken to BM if there's anything to tell. The counsellor actually said to DP that dsd said she's very happy with us and it's good that she's in safe hands, so that was nice - we must be doing something right LOL

dsd is going out all day tomorrow with her friends, she's getting the 9 o'clock bus into the town centre to go shopping then going off to some fete type thing. We've told her she has to be back by 5, we were very reluctant to let her go all day tbh but....she is 13....and the fete is only in the next village, we can be there in 5 minutes if need be. Seemed unfair to say no because both of her good friends are going and they're meeting up with some girls who they went to primary school with but haven't seen for ages. I'm sure she'll be fine [hopeful emoticon]
