Sounds like a really good plan and so much better than replacing it with flats. Women’s football is certainly on the rise - Chelsea where I am do get good attendance for the Stamford Bridge matches and the academy is growing - our local school has a contract with the academy

good match last night love the playoffs (Mondays was a disappointing one way affair for the neutral)

and big La Liga night we could get this week with only the Serie A to fight for

and have removed all Liverpool players from my FPL as clearly a 4 day trip to Dubai is not going to make a good performance

Whilst obviously Liverpool have won the league and therefore can celebrate and kick back however they want, it’s a bit frustrating for those teams who would like them to remain competitive in order not to sway the race for champions league. Absolutely no way both Chelsea and Arsenal would have taken points off them if they weren’t already on the beach.

MaybeNotBob · 15/05/2025 00:11

Well, we took a point off them in October, so I'm not sure that's entirely honest...

Tiswa · 15/05/2025 00:25

I think Liverpool Arsenal was probably always odds on for a draw. You can’t blame Liverpool either there is so little downtime with the Nations Leagie let them enjoy it experience it so they want it again

Newcastle have it in their own hands and can’t see them falling out

maybe Aston Villa can be aggrieved but they are playing Spurs before the Europa League ditto Chelsea against Man Utd

which leaves Notts Forest and personally I think for them Europa or Conference League is a much better option for them - they can go far in them next season

there will be a few clubs wanting City to win the FA cup though so 8th get Europe

Cuwins · 15/05/2025 00:41

Good news for us as we have Liverpool on Monday and need the points to stay in the European race.

I guess you will be supporting Man City on Saturday to get that Europa League place into the league or Chelsea dropping down to 6th/7th

i guess both of those things could get 9th? Place European football

Honestly I haven’t worked all the maths etc out. Just focusing on as many points as we can get

The easiest way for 8th to get Europe is Man City winning the FA cup and putting the Europa League space into the league.

Crystal Palace winning it takes that out

then the only other way 8th gets Conference League is if Chelsea finish 6 or 7th and win the Conference League and get Europa League that way. If they win and finish top 5 that place disappears

if both of those things happen 1-5 Chanpions League 6-8Europa (with one being Chelsea) and 9th Conference League handed over from Newcastle winning the Carabao Cup

if neither happens then 8th won’t get Europe!

At least I think so!

DuncinToffee · 15/05/2025 12:21

I would like Crystal Palace to win

Relying on City to win the FA cup was not a great tactic for us last season 😂

Tiswa · 15/05/2025 15:14

True but I will get a lot more joy from Crystal Palace winning then Manchester United.

Either way seeing one of Crystal Palace/Brentford/Brighton/Bournemouth in Europe will be great

I absolutely do not want this to happen! However I have a feeling it will

enjoy the day out, everyone who's going. And yep, supporting Palace here too.

Weren't they in the final a few years ago? it used to be that the German women's cup was on the same day as the men's (different location) but in the afternoon. So we went to Cologne to watch that, then into the pub to watch the English men's FA cup final, then the German men's cup final. And i'm pretty sure one day the Coppa del Rey was the same day too. Good times.

Tiswa · 17/05/2025 09:59

Good luck - it has been lovely this season to see teams for whom winning a cup means everything Newcastle/Bologna even Whitstable are doing a bus for winning the FA Vase

Man City winning it is just meh - boring and is just another trophy to them

burblish · 17/05/2025 16:15

Come on Palace!

DuncinToffee · 17/05/2025 16:47
