I can't remember ever watching a better pair of matches in a two-legged tie - absolutely bonkers and absolutely brilliant! I hope Acerbi won't regret taking his shirt off, though, if he has to now play extra time on a yellow.

DuncinToffee · 06/05/2025 21:59

He looks exhausted

This is as mental as last week!

DuncinToffee · 06/05/2025 22:40

Wow, well done Inter Milan!

I was hoping for penalties and lots of cards (just on the off-chance we get past PSG tomorrow)...

burblish · 06/05/2025 22:42

I'm glad Inter won that and that it didn't go to penalties. Fair play to Barcelona, though - they showed real character to come back from 2-0 down in both ties. What a fantastic watch that was for neutrals!

kiterunning · 06/05/2025 22:55

Fantastic match! Could you ever have imagined Inter scoring 7 against Barça?

Brefugee · 07/05/2025 09:25

can i just mention: in the normal course events that would have been the battle of 2 ex-Gladbach goalies? but Ter Stegen is just back from injury and wasn't playing.

We have a good line in goalies, especially out of our academy. Everyone needs to be watching our U19 goalie now.

Sorry i missed the match it sounds as though it was thrillling. I was cheating on footie with my first love, going to a gig.

Tarkan · 07/05/2025 16:13

DH and I were out for a meal last night but ended up on a bit of a pub crawl around Dundee afterwards and managed to watch quite a bit of the match in different pubs. The bits we saw were brilliant. 😁

MaybeNotBob · 07/05/2025 19:50

Not feeling very confident tonight, we were easily second best last week...

DuncinToffee · 07/05/2025 19:57

Good luck!

Well, we've been a lot better so far, but now we're 2 down...

burblish · 07/05/2025 21:28

That penalty given to PSG for Miles-Skelly's handball wouldn't have been given in the Prem. Feels like justice has been done with Raya saving the spot kick.

JasonTindallsTan · 07/05/2025 21:50

The PSG pen given against Tino Livramento for handball is still a sore point…

PSG have been great though, Donnarumma is such a big game player and Kvaratskhelia is absolutely world class.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 07/05/2025 21:55

Oh well, we gave it our best shot. Their goal keeper was just too good.

MaybeNotBob · 07/05/2025 21:57

Fine margins and all that. I reckon Donnarumma has been the difference. If we'd got an early goal that would have been game on, but PSG really punish any mistake.

Frankly, we shouldn't have got this far given our injuries.

I'm a bit sore about that yellow card for Saka - that was ludicrous!

MaybeNotBob · 07/05/2025 22:01

And they VARed to give PSG a penalty, but I never even saw a replay of what looked like a penalty for Saka just before!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 07/05/2025 22:02

PSG have had a good run against the English sides this season!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 07/05/2025 22:08

And still keeps us the only London club to win it for another year

Tiswa · 08/05/2025 08:56

Why didn’t Arsenal sign a striker though WHY!

Summer transfer window ok maybe but in January when it was clear that it was the difference between glory and not. Yes they had been the wrong side of 50/50 decisions in quite a few matches but a goal would have made them footnotes of the match not the main story.

Ivan Toney - personality didn’t fit well make it fit manage him so it isn’t a problem
Victor Osimhen too expensive - well you know Liverpool spent £80million on Darwin Nunez and yeah maybe he hasn’t been the greatest but he has created enough this season to put the distance. Even a fairly flop of a season here could have been the difference

So that Sunday match would be as exciting and on a knife edge as el Classico is looking to be

DuncinToffee · 08/05/2025 09:47

We have been waiting for signing a striker ever since Lukaku left Grin

DuncinToffee · 08/05/2025 09:55

I watched the highlights from the game, that the penalty was given was ridiculous but the penalty itself was even more ridiculous.

OP posts:
Tiswa · 08/05/2025 09:57

The penalty was hilarious!

MaybeNotBob · 08/05/2025 19:42

Just seen this elsewhere; if you have Alexa, ask it "what is the worst football team?"...

Oblomov25 · 08/05/2025 20:00

We are watching Spurs.
