Well, they've announced the calendar so we can have a thread now Grin

2015 races

Live on the beeb

Congrats Jenson and Jessica!

Will Lewis and Nico snipe at each other all season? Will little Verstappen (must stop calling him Jos jr) impress in his first race? Will Ferrari and McLaren improve or still be a bit shit? Can't wait for Melbourne!

I love Kimi. And agree re Rush being a great film.

Hope it will be a good race today. Montreal was unusually boring.

OberonTheHopeful · 21/06/2015 12:12

I like Kimi's general air of coolness :)

I'll be watching the highlights of today's race later. I'm also hoping for it to be a bit more exciting!

GrouchyKiwi · 21/06/2015 15:09

Highlights for us too.

GrouchyKiwi · 21/06/2015 17:06

The Chain is the best music for F1 coverage.

GrouchyKiwi · 21/06/2015 21:16

What a terrible race for McLaren and Ferrari. That crash looked scary; so glad they're both OK.

Not a great race for Lewis either. I've firmly decided that I don't like Rosberg.

So pleased for Massa and Williams, though.

EauRouge · 21/06/2015 21:21

Im the opposite, I don't like Lewis Grin I thought he was unnecessarily sulky about coming second.

That Alonso/Raikkonen crash looked terrifying. Bet they both needed clean undies after that.

Also very pleased for Massa and Williams. Massa Jr is adorable!

It seemed a bit of a strange race to me, but some of that could be watching highlights because it compresses the events!

I like Lewis but thought Nico drove a good race and deserved a win. Lewis never seemed to be entirely happy at this circuit this year, even in practice.

And agree that Fleetwood Mac is the sound of Formula 1 Grin

Just a massive SILVERSTONE BUMP!!!

Love love love the British GP. My sister lives near to a tiny airport in Northants and has helicopters and light aircraft ferrying the rich and / or famous back and forth to the airport. I'm a bit further north so don't get woken at 5.00am by it, but do have the pleasure of living just down the road from the Mercedes HPE factory Smile

Ohfourfoxache · 02/07/2015 12:17

Going to be an interesting one I think - isn't it supposed to rain?

EauRouge · 02/07/2015 15:51

I read that Silverstone helipad is the busiest in the UK on GP weekend. I'm a good hour away from Silverstone but we're forecast heavy rain for the weekend- there is a yellow warning in place from the met office. Good thing too, my front lawn is almost completely dead.

Ohfourfoxache · 02/07/2015 20:26

Under normal circumstances that would bode well for JB. With this season's McLaren? Not so much.

OberonTheHopeful · 02/07/2015 22:24

I'm really looking forward to Silverstone this weekend; rain will most probably make for an interesting race!

I also wanted to share a pic at took at Battersea (Formula E) on Sunday because I don't know anyone who's interested Smile

Fab Oberon - was it worth going? We would've liked to go but had something else on that was subsequently cancelled at the last minute.

FadedRed · 03/07/2015 11:00

According to the BBC and Met office websites, the yellow warning for possible thunderstorms and heavy rain is for the evening/night time, not during the day, which is forecast as sunny and warm c23 degrees. And it's lowest (1) for possibility but 3 out of 4 for impact.
Mind you, having said that, it is England and Silverstone so the rain gods might decide to have their little bit of fun.......

OberonTheHopeful · 04/07/2015 13:56

It was great GaryBaldy, definitely worth going. The organisation wasn't amazing (though easy enough in the end), but we had a good viewpoint at one of the faster corners and it was an exciting race, all the better because Sam Bird won Grin.

EauRouge · 05/07/2015 22:31

So disappointed about the Williams after that epic start. Someone must have stuck a rocket up Massa's exhaust.

OP posts:
Ohfourfoxache · 05/07/2015 23:20

Massa did so well - it was an incredible start. Such a shame he couldn't hang onto the lead (I also do not like Lewis and am actually a bit disappointed that he won - in fact I've just de-friended him on FB Grin )

Gutted for JB. Absolutely gutted Sad

GrouchyKiwi · 18/07/2015 09:32

So sad about Jules Bianchi.

Ohfourfoxache · 18/07/2015 15:50

Awful news Sad

1 death in 21 years is 1 too many. Just should not be possible Sad

EauPea · 24/07/2015 13:59

Fingers crossed that the rumoured move to Williams really is on the cards for Jenson. About time he had a decent toy to play with.

magimedi · 26/07/2015 17:56

What an amazing race - so emotional & lovely words by Vettell as he finished.

If only all the races were so action packed.

Maldarnado really covered himself in glory! Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 26/07/2015 18:57

It was an exciting race.

Can't quite believe how many penalties Maldonado earned! Stewards were a bit unkind for one of them, I thought, and also didn't think Lewis deserved his.

OberonTheHopeful · 27/07/2015 14:15

Definitely an exciting race, and good to see a break in the usual 'procession'. I think Lewis didn't manage the start well at all.

It would be great to see Jenson at Williams; I suppose it all depends on whether Valtteri ends up at Ferrari? There have been some rumours that McLaren are planning to drop Jenson from the team anyway, and I would hate to see him without a drive next season.

magimedi · 21/08/2015 10:10

Really looking forward to Spa this w/e. Seems like an age since Hungary.

GrouchyKiwi · 22/08/2015 14:57

I'm really looking forward to the race too.

Did you see that McLaren got a total of 105 grid place penalties?! Starting from the back again.

Nice to see Lotus doing well today. Hope they can keep it up for the race.

Must admit I'm glad that Ferrari had a bad day today.
