Well, they've announced the calendar so we can have a thread now Grin

2015 races

Live on the beeb

Congrats Jenson and Jessica!

Will Lewis and Nico snipe at each other all season? Will little Verstappen (must stop calling him Jos jr) impress in his first race? Will Ferrari and McLaren improve or still be a bit shit? Can't wait for Melbourne!

Hello fellow petrol heads didn't know you were here.

Can't wait for the season to begin. I'm a merc fan since they were lowly BAR.

GrouchyKiwi · 04/03/2015 20:29

Oh yay, a new thread. So glad we've only a week and a bit to wait.

McLaren looking rough again. Wonder how the Button-Alonso pairing will go.

Have been a McLaren fan for years, but also support Lewis and love Ricciardo's grin. Would also be really happy if Williams does well this year.

Sistedtwister · 04/03/2015 20:43

I think Williams will be major contenders this year, they were very strong towards the end of last year

EauPea · 04/03/2015 21:21

I would love it to be William's year (do worry though that it might be too much for Frank).

JADS · 04/03/2015 21:23

Hello and thank you for this thread!

Massive Lewis and Jenson fan here. So glad that Jenson is back, I sobbed at his BBC bit at the end of last season. Just hope Alonso gets better soon.

Can't wait to see how all the team switch overs work. I reckon Riccardo has a very good chance this year.

BeeRayKay · 05/03/2015 16:57

I cry way too much at driver interviews.

I've got a big big thing for Raikonnen.

Last year I got a signed photo from Ricciardo for my friend, she loves him.

I'd love to see Bottas do well again this year.

PersonalClown · 05/03/2015 17:08

I've just read a BBC article about Alonso's crash. There is someone in the comment section called The Nest Of Vipers.

Is it someone here??? Wink

EauRouge · 09/03/2015 08:31

Not me, I tend to avoid forums because there are so many knobs on the internet. Not on MN though, obviously Wink

The drama seems to be kicking off already with Giedo van der Garde taking Sauber to court because they won't let him race. Story here.

4 days to go!

BeeRay, that won't make you cry.

Ohfourfoxache · 09/03/2015 10:07

Love Mika Grin

I don't get it re Alonso's crash. DC on the BBC website seems to think that there is more to it than meets the eye - along the same lines as the article I think you're talking about PersonalClown. Seems like there are a few conflicting statements/opinions Confused

So excited! I'm due on Wednesday, if it's a boy I'm tempted to name him after Sunday's winner Grin

EauRouge · 09/03/2015 10:18

Ooh, good luck with the birth. I hope the baby shows up in time and doesn't make you miss the race. I was meant to be induced with DD1 on the day of the Japanese GP but luckily she arrived a couple of days before and I was home in time to watch the quali. If she was a boy then DH may have pushed for Felipe as a middle name Grin

Yes, the whole Alonso thing is very mysterious, isn't it. I bet there will be a lot of speculation in the pre-race build-up on Sunday's show.

OP posts:
EauRouge · 09/03/2015 21:52

Oh look, speculation about Alonso's crash. We don't even have to wait until Sunday.

OP posts:
Seff · 10/03/2015 07:01

DS was born last year the night before Melbourne, and I woke up on the Sunday morning at around 5am so came down with my newborn and watched F1! A good reason to have a homebirth Wink

He's not called Nico though!

EauPea · 10/03/2015 11:05

I love a good conspiracy theory me!

As we know Ron and Fernando have a rather chequered history. Well...... allegedly Ron signed Fernando as an act of revenge, to stop him racing.

Seems to be working so far Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 10/03/2015 11:12

Signing in, biiig, big Kimi fan here, saw him win at Spa in 2005, one of the best days of my life.

EauRouge · 10/03/2015 11:24

Hello, Brillo. I'm also a Kimi fan, I saw him win at Spa in 2007- also one of the best days of my life :) Isn't Spa amazing? I couldn't get over how massive it all is.

Loving the Ron stopping Alonso from racing theory Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 10/03/2015 11:52

I couldn't believe how steep Eau rouge really is!

EauRouge · 10/03/2015 11:59

I know! My legs were aching by the end of the weekend. DH wanted to walk around the entire circuit at the end of the race, until I told him how far it was. Grin Amazing that the cars only take a couple of minutes to get around, it would have taken us about an hour.

OP posts:
EauRouge · 10/03/2015 12:08

ANother thought about the Alonso crash; maybe they found he had other health issues when they were checking him out for concussion. I really hope that's not the case though.

BBC Season Preview on iplayer for those that haven't seen it Smile

EauRouge · 12/03/2015 08:40

I couldn't get my iPlayer to work last night, I'll try again tonight.

Has anyone had a go at this quiz? I'm good at recognising tracks but couldn't remember the Lotus drivers' names ('that guy' and 'you know, her' are not permissible answers). I could name one of Lewis' dogs though, embarrassingly.

Looks like Sauber are going to have a tricky time allocating seats this weekend. I reckon they should have a game of musical chairs to decide it.

OP posts:
CMP69 · 13/03/2015 14:07

Wow all sorts of dramas in practice. Another crashed McLaren Sad Jenson hoping for anywhere on the grid other than last and Manor/Marrussia going to court/jail over driver's. It's never quiet in F1 Grin

GaryBaldy · 13/03/2015 20:32

Finally got round to signing up for Fantasy F1 - thanks EauRouge.

So glad F1 is back Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 13/03/2015 20:35

EauRouge I only knew the answers to that question. Both dogs. Blush

EauRouge · 14/03/2015 16:23

I had loads of insightful things to say about quali but then I saw jenson's tache and now I can barely even remember who is on pole.

Good to see Williams have kept their momentum from last season. And Verstappen did a pretty good job for a rookie who probably has to fit practice sessions around his maths homework.

GrouchyKiwi · 14/03/2015 16:25

Lotus must be delighted they switched engine suppliers.
