Dd 10 has had a massive verruca under her big toe for over 3 years. GP said it would go of its own accord... it hasn't gone.
A few weeks ago she said it was hurting when she walked so I have decided to wage war on it.
So far we have tried soaking, filing and covering with a plaster, then soaking, filing and covering with duct tape for more than a fortnight but it made no difference.
Next weapon... Bazuka.
After 3 days, it look absolutely hideous....

Banana peel cut to size and put on with a plaster worked for ds. I had tried everything else. Nothing could stop the thing growing on his foot. A couple days of banana and it just disappeared.

Have you tried Spirularin, it’s supposed to be amazing. We have had some success with Bazuka but the Extra Strength. It takes ages, I found applying for a few days to get it hard and crusty then peeling of the crust before applying more works well. Sometimes the whole thing comes out, it’s bloody but it’s generally gone! Good luck

Zinc Oxide Tape is better than gaffer tape for staying in place

lurker2003 · 01/03/2021 05:28

Superdrug sell ‘Witch Naturally Clear Blemish Stick’. This was very effective for me, think the witch hazel in it dries it up. Smile

IHateCoronavirus · 01/03/2021 05:32

The sap from dandelions worked for us. We’d pick them on the way home from school and rub the white liquid on DS’s foot. It worked a treat, but his wasn’t as glorious as your DD’s.

BerylCook · 01/03/2021 05:34

That does look painful!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 01/03/2021 06:13

Boots do a freezing spray, that sorted DDs out in days.

LovesToBeInFrontOfTheCamera · 01/03/2021 07:44

Both DH and Ds have had verrucas that were determined not to go - we tried everything - duct tape, bazooka, banana skin, tea tree oil etc.

What worked in the end for both of them was nail varnish - I used a really dark coloured one to stop any light from penetrating (not sure why - maybe I read or heard somewhere that that helps?)

In both cases after a week or two of varnishing every evening, the verrucas quite literally fell out.

Sometimes I wish one of them would grow another one so I could have that satisfaction again!

PubicMenace · 01/03/2021 10:06

@devuskums Bazuka just made a mess of the whole area. She had 3 massive black veruccas after weeks of trying and someone on here mentioned freeze spray. One application and 4 days later voila! they left as quickly as they had arrived. Good luck Smile

Hereslookingatyoukid · 01/03/2021 13:14

Apologies for jumping on the thread but does anyone have any recommendations for a freezing cream? Or another type of gel? I've suddenly got several warts on one hand and have used the Bazuka extra strength several times but they keep coming back and I've now got more than when I started the treatment. They are not painful but really unsightly as near my knuckles on one hand so I'm desperate to get rid. Thank you!

Whyisitalwayssocold · 01/03/2021 13:52

I constantly get verrucas and have done since I was a kid. The only thing that get a rid of then for me is a few days at the beach. I assume the salt water and sand do it. Not so helpful at this time of year though!

Logoplanter · 01/03/2021 21:41

DS has two on his foot at the moment; one on the heel, one on his toe. We are currently using the Superdrug freezing spray.

He's had them before and this has worked for him but it took a few applications (it says no more than three) so I'm hoping we can shift them soon.

I think the gels like Bazuka just make a huge mess of them. DS's heel one is quite big but the surrounding skin doesn't look anywhere near as sore as your DD's. Hope it goes soon for her🤞🤞

devuskums · 02/03/2021 19:36

Day 5. Dd reports no pain.

It's not infective the research is now some get them some don't so you can't pass it on, and it will go on its own Treatments are expensive and not required

WithASpider · 02/03/2021 20:26

DD1 is 17 and has had them almost constantly for 5 years. We're now on the silver nitrate having tried absolutely everything else including freezing. Glad your DD's doesn't hurt too much OP.

Oh you can see the edges coming away now!!!! Keep going op.

DS had two this summer. He was DELIGHTED with the craters they left in his feet.

He is a 7 year old sporner and watches all the videos with me

moanieleminx · 03/03/2021 17:49

Just saw this on YouTube and thought of this thread

How have you had the willpower not to just pull that off!!

I’m jealous!

lunar1 · 03/03/2021 23:07

I'd have to just pull that off at this point!

SirSamuelVimes · 03/03/2021 23:13

Ooh good luck!

Hope it works. I had an awful one on the ball of my foot for ten years. Tried everything. In the end I found a podiatrist who could do the swift treatment (microwave). It's meant to work in three sessions, mine took ten. £300 and eleven months of treatment but it was worth it!

Jamboree01 · 03/03/2021 23:14

And me! One or two pulls with the tweezers and that fella will be Straight out!

devuskums · 03/03/2021 23:20

Trust me, if it was on me I would have ripped it off by now but dd can't stand me touching it so...softly softly catchee verucaee (hopefully!!)
