Created for Zapp

Whether it’s loo roll for the hundredth time or the bottle of wine you were really excited for, we want to know the items you need, but always forget to buy at the supermarket.

  • Post your items in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice
Here’s what Zapp has to say:

“Run out of nappies at 3 in the morning? Haven’t had time to go to the shops to pick up dinner? Or simply just need a glass of wine after a long day? Zapp is here to save the day.

Choose from over 2,000 curated items, delivered in 20 minutes or less, with no minimum order value and free delivery over £30. You look after the kids, let Zapp look after you.”

Lemons
Bin liners
Jam
Anything my husband or daughter have specifically asked for and reminded me to buy before I walk into the shop....

WarmHugs · 22/02/2022 21:16

Bin bags. My local supermarket has moved them around, and they are now in an aisle I never go down!

Merryweather80 · 22/02/2022 21:26

cornflour ~ it has to be Brown and Plosen though.

Kitchen roll is another regularly forgotten item and bin bags. I think it’s because they are in the last isle, and by then with three little darlings chatting at me I’ve lost the list, the plot and the will to live.

mrshoho · 22/02/2022 21:51

white vinegar for cleaning.

pigear · 22/02/2022 21:53

Always loo roll! Mostly anything I don't write down!!

BLISS2004 · 22/02/2022 22:06

Eggs.
I always think I will get it last because they are fragile, then I forget to buy them.

Daisymaybe60 · 22/02/2022 22:14

Any frozen stuff. Because I always think I'll buy it just before I go to check out. Then I always forget.

Stephgr8 · 22/02/2022 22:19

I always forget personal care items - mainly toothpaste and disposable razors. I never forget food!

WellLetsSayHesSquare · 22/02/2022 22:29

Tin foil. EVERY. TIME.

biscuiteer · 22/02/2022 22:46

kitchen roll
toothpaste
cat food

ChampionOfTheSun · 22/02/2022 23:13

Dishwasher salt/rinse aid, tin foil, milk.
(Me and DD drink oat milk due to dairy allergy so I don't think to pick up milk but my DH drinks it/has it in coffee/on cereal Blush fortunately he doesn't actually mind oat milk too much!)

Piplette · 22/02/2022 23:24

The "non regular" items that don't need to be purchased weekly - things like salt, stock cubes, bin bags - tin foil!

Joysutty · 23/02/2022 09:52

Yes, its got to be bin bags, whether from wilko, poundland or from the supermarket, it depends on the quality of the black ones as found some so very thin, but thinking of the plastic of all of them being dumped and cant someone make one thats bio-degradable that goes into the soil/ground. The other items is cottonwood balls, sometimes have been in short supply in wilko and most recently 4 pack of kitchen rolls short supply in wilko so been buying these in supermarkets depending on the price, thats when I can remember to pick them up. Another item I do tend to forget when I run low on constantly is the clear sandwich bags use such a lot.

merryhouse · 23/02/2022 10:38

I never forget anything because I have a printed list of everything I ever need to buy, and I check through it before I go every time.

DelightfulDinosaurs · 23/02/2022 11:28

Bin bags, small pots of spices and herbs than ran out in the week (always oregano and ground coriander!) and shower gel for me, which is odd because I always enjoy choosing a new one!

lovemyflipflops · 23/02/2022 13:18

Bin bags and washing up liquid

jacqui5366 · 23/02/2022 13:19

toothpaste, tomato ketchup and cat treats

ohdannyboy · 23/02/2022 13:20

cooking oil, butter and sweetener for my coffee

Tibtab · 23/02/2022 13:28

Milk, always milk. My toddler drinks loads and me and DH both WFH so plenty of tea drunk in the day.

Montydoo · 23/02/2022 14:02

Gravy granules, and oxo - a nightmare when it's Sunday and you have to go to the corner shop for this .
Oh and gin Wink when you fancy a snifter and find the bottle empty

Cookez · 24/02/2022 15:10

Vinegar, rice , salt and dishwasher salt! the silly little things that you need but always forget. Drives me mad that every time we have fish and chips there's no vinegar in the cupboard but I can't seem to remember it.

Carriecakes80 · 24/02/2022 20:39

Its always MY cravings,
The things I enjoy!
Like my bit of cheesecake
and not the snacks for my boys!
Like my sweet n salted popcorn
or my Angel Delight!
But never the kids crisps
or my husbands steak pies!
I even remember
the dogs chews and cat sticks,
so they get their treats
and something lovely to lick! ;-)
So there I am on a Friday
Nothing for me belly!
So I waddle down to Tesocs
For some Ben & Jerrys!
Nothing else gets forgotten
not usually.
Only the important stuff that
I want for me!

MixedCouple · 25/02/2022 11:46

Nappy sacks, Bin Liners, Loo Roll and dish soap. As we buy them in bulk we never keep tabs on how much is left. Oh and recently tooth paste. We aknowledge it's running out when we brush our teeth but somehow as soon as we step out the bathroom we forget. Hmm

lillypopdaisyduke · 26/02/2022 15:02

Usually things for me - shampoo, hairspray and tampons

Dovebird10 · 28/02/2022 02:30

Frozen items. I identify the products I need from the freezers, intend to go back for them after I've picked up everything else (so they don't start to defrost while I'm shopping) then, when I'm home, realise I've forgotten to go back for them - again!
