Created for Zapp

Whether it’s loo roll for the hundredth time or the bottle of wine you were really excited for, we want to know the items you need, but always forget to buy at the supermarket.

  • Post your items in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice
Here’s what Zapp has to say:

“Run out of nappies at 3 in the morning? Haven’t had time to go to the shops to pick up dinner? Or simply just need a glass of wine after a long day? Zapp is here to save the day.

Choose from over 2,000 curated items, delivered in 20 minutes or less, with no minimum order value and free delivery over £30. You look after the kids, let Zapp look after you.”

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Keep meaning to do a top up and forgetting

Jaderice21 · 19/02/2022 13:14

always forget the thing i go for

butter , toilet roll and mouthwash are my most forgotten and often send me back out haha

Isaidagiantclock · 19/02/2022 14:32

Bin bags and cleaning supplies, usually washing powder and washing up liquid.

Bloatstoat · 19/02/2022 15:09

My eldest has a lot of issues around food, so will not make do with whatever is in the cupboard if i forget one of his safe foods. Inevitably, I don't realise I've run out of his cereal or bread or rice cakes till we're back home, so annoying!

Becclescake · 19/02/2022 20:03

Washing up liquid and loo roll 🤣. End up going to the corner shop for them 😂

Onceuponapotato · 19/02/2022 21:13

Descaler! Always need it, always forget it.

picklemewalnuts · 19/02/2022 22:13

@mayflower21 you should remember them next time Grin

Thinking back over my last few shops-

Sweet potatoes.
Condiments and herbs/spices- mint sauce, mustard, dill...

Eloise12 · 19/02/2022 22:41

Bin bags, double cream, eggs, sauces e.g. Worcestershire, dog treats.

nzborn · 19/02/2022 22:55

coffee pods and milk I always run out faster than l think

ButtonMoonLoon · 19/02/2022 23:58

In our household it seems to be milk, juice and bread!

foxlover47 · 20/02/2022 16:26

Always something that is for me
... so 9/10 it's Tampax 🙈
It's just me and DD 9 so it's not like I can borrow one either 🙈🙈🙈

Prettybowmumma · 20/02/2022 16:39

Mine was biscuits and I did it again after going back to get them, third times a charm!

Suja1 · 20/02/2022 17:39

I usually get the main ingredients then remember I've run out of olive oil or a particular herb or spice.

starlight36 · 20/02/2022 17:39

I always forget to buy olive oil or rapeseed oil. That or onions.- just the two basics I need for the majority of my cooking!

MyLastUsernameWasRubbish · 20/02/2022 18:03

I don't know why, but I regularly forget teabags, even though I use them very very regularly. It's a very sad start to a morning to discover there's only 1 teabag left for me and my husband to fight over.

Also herbs and spices, I remember we have run out of one of them but often forget which one so end up duplicating paprika and having no cumin for weeks (for example!)

shewhomustbeEbayed · 20/02/2022 18:34

Batteries ! I’ve returned again today without the specific one I need for a new toy.

Bignanny30 · 20/02/2022 19:57

Sandwich/freezer bags. Batteries. And I can never remember whether it’s cling film or foil that I’m almost out of - it’s always the alternate one to the one that I pick up !

CharliesMouse · 20/02/2022 20:21

It's the small things, for instance I have been out of mixed herbs and oregano for WEEKS but just never remember to put them in my basket. I could understand this if I was physically going to the supermarket - these things are small and easy to miss - but I shop online, they're in my favourites list and yet still I forget them!

I think it's because they are things I don't buy that often so my eyes just skip over them in my list. I'm going to write them on a post-it not and stick it somewhere prominent and hope I actually remember them this week for once.

Holidayenthusiast · 21/02/2022 07:35

I can never remember which herbs and spices I’ve run out of. I end up buying the wrong ones and forget to pick up the ones I need.

KittenKong · 21/02/2022 10:30

Me neither - that’s why I have a zillion peppercorns and chilli packets!

DoYouWantDecking · 21/02/2022 10:44

Used to be toilet roll but now we buy them in bulk from uk.whogivesacrap.org/

1969angep · 21/02/2022 11:04

Cheese, milk, butter, onions, kitchen towel and cleaning wipes. I'm as likely to forget the basics as anything else (because I think I'll automatically remember them so focus more on not forgetting the obscure items I need!)
