Created for Zapp

Whether it’s loo roll for the hundredth time or the bottle of wine you were really excited for, we want to know the items you need, but always forget to buy at the supermarket.

  • Post your items in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice
Here’s what Zapp has to say:

“Run out of nappies at 3 in the morning? Haven’t had time to go to the shops to pick up dinner? Or simply just need a glass of wine after a long day? Zapp is here to save the day.

Choose from over 2,000 curated items, delivered in 20 minutes or less, with no minimum order value and free delivery over £30. You look after the kids, let Zapp look after you.”

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Tbh I dont think there is one regularly forgotten item, its usually the thing I have told myself NOT to forget!!

Most recently chick peas because I looked for the cheap ones in World Foods but they were out and I forgot to look in the pulses place.

AnotherMansCause · 14/02/2022 13:29

Olive oil & tinned tomatoes. I always think there is just more in the cupboard...
Also bread & cheese - I don't eat them so I don't always notice if they've run out.

Goldenbunny · 14/02/2022 13:41

I always forget eggs

wheresmyshoe · 14/02/2022 13:41

Dog dental chews and human toothpaste! Clearly a mental block about teeth.

emphasisofmatter · 14/02/2022 13:45

This week I forgot;

  • cheddars
  • shower gel
  • cling film

It's generally the things I don't buy very often that I forget!

HelenaHandcart0 · 14/02/2022 13:52

Kindling
Green food waste bags
Tinned tomatoes
Kitchen roll
Kettle descaler

HelenaHandcart0 · 14/02/2022 13:54

Oh and I forgot that I forget shampoo!

Silversprinkles · 14/02/2022 13:59

Dishwasher Rinse Aid. Not a frequent purchase but that blinking red light on the machine annoys me when I've forgotten for the third shop in a row!

Have also forgotten oil for cooking and guacamole for Taco Tuesdays recently.

frogface69 · 14/02/2022 14:03

Ds(17) has passed his test recently and it is great I can ask him to pop down to local shop to pick up things I dont realise ive forgotten until half way through making dinner!

Toilet roll
Dishwasher salt
Toothpaste

DottyHarmer · 14/02/2022 14:18

Eggs

The number of times I think, “I’ll make a cake” and then realise I have no eggs…. I never learn

Mrsweasleysclock · 14/02/2022 14:25

Basic things like salt, sugar, flour, washing up liquid. I always assume I have them so don't buy any. Then I get home and realise it was the main reason I even went to the shops in the first place so have to go back out.

Bleach!! 4 times I have been to the shops and still I have not bought any bleach. Popping out again later today for bleach, hopefully this time I actually come home with some.

nothappytobeheretoday · 14/02/2022 14:34

Zapp sounds like a fantastic idea!

I am always forgetting milk and my husband always forgets biscuits - this would be a lifesaver.

Thanks Smile

PolytheneRam · 14/02/2022 14:38

Fabric conditioner - no idea why. We used to forget more but now we have a whiteboard in the kitchen and lists get transferred from there straight to Google Keep.

jeepjeep4 · 14/02/2022 14:48

Toothpaste and tinfoil

CatNamedEaster · 14/02/2022 14:55

Everything that's bathroom/kitchen 'stuff' so toothpaste, soap, washing liquids, sponges and bags/foil.

Comedycook · 14/02/2022 15:10

Cooking oil

HappyBackHome · 14/02/2022 15:21

Milk
Pasta
Cat food
Bread/wraps
Chocolate/crisps

gillybean2 · 14/02/2022 15:24

Have the opposite problem. I always have spares of everything and pick up more if it’s on offer when I already have a spare (or ten) in the cupboard already. I shop from a list so unlikely to forget anything as a result.

janedani · 14/02/2022 15:53

Granulated sugar for my tea and coffee

Olinguito · 14/02/2022 15:55

I have an ongoing list in the kitchen that everyone updates when things run out, so we don't tend to forget food items. However I can easily fail to buy things that are needed upstairs, as I forget to add them to the list when I'm next in the kitchen. For us it would be things like shampoo, soap, bleach, toothpaste etc.

Wannabangbang · 14/02/2022 15:59

Bin Liners most definitely as half the shops in my area never have any in stock and by the time i reach the 3rd shop i have forgot what i went out for.

dizzydizzydizzy · 14/02/2022 15:59

It's stuff that we use all the time and can't manage easily without But only have to buy occasionally- cling film, ketchup, yeast (we have a bread machine), toothpaste. And then there is the stuff with a short shelf life, like
Salad and sliced meats for sandwiches.
