Created for Zapp

Whether it’s loo roll for the hundredth time or the bottle of wine you were really excited for, we want to know the items you need, but always forget to buy at the supermarket.

  • Post your items in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice
Here’s what Zapp has to say:

“Run out of nappies at 3 in the morning? Haven’t had time to go to the shops to pick up dinner? Or simply just need a glass of wine after a long day? Zapp is here to save the day.

Choose from over 2,000 curated items, delivered in 20 minutes or less, with no minimum order value and free delivery over £30. You look after the kids, let Zapp look after you.”

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

I'm really good at writing down things on a list when they run out...but my (teenage) DDs are not. So the things we run out of are the things they tend to use: baked beans, houmous, icing sugar (for those random cake making moments), their toiletries (they announce things are run out once totally empty), cans of diet coke. Oh the list goes on!

I nearly always forget to buy marigolds; I get through one pair a week as I wash dishes by hand. Sharp knives are forever slicing a hole in my right glove. Putting your hand in a cold, wet and soggy marigold is torture!

Ribeebie · 18/02/2022 15:45

Kitchen roll. Everytime 🙄

CatRatSplat · 18/02/2022 16:53

Bread always bread that gets forgotten in this house!

Itsyoouu · 18/02/2022 17:37

Milk, pasta and chopped tomatoes, happens way to often.

phoneybaloney · 18/02/2022 19:05

Ketchup
Dog food
Potatoes

MrsCocochannel · 18/02/2022 19:34

Dishwasher tablets

Narutocrazyfox · 18/02/2022 19:41

Pepper. Every time. Arrrrrrrrgh bloody pepper!

And Worcestershire sauce.

spiceagent11403 · 18/02/2022 22:41

Milk because we often have some in the fridge that is gently mouldering past its natural life span

Red chillies . For some reason they are on the top shelf of the vegetable section in my local supermarket , and for something so small seems crazy they are tucked up away there.
It doesn't help that I'm not very tall so I pass them by more often that not !

NotAllItsCrackedUpToBe · 18/02/2022 23:11

Deodorant
Baking powder
Herbs and spices
Washing powder

But really I'd use this service when fancying a quick top up shop during the week when I forgot to finish my main online shop. I'd probably order some food, wine and most of the above!

SadLittleLife · 18/02/2022 23:20

Always forget cornflour for crispy roast potatoes when I'm doing a roast...or olive oil.

CatCatDog · 18/02/2022 23:59

It's often cans of coconut milk or sweetcorn, items we use regularly but not often enough to buy them every week. I use it, forget to put it on the list and then think I've replaced it! I hate realising I haven't got a key ingredient after deciding what to have for dinner and I was so sure we had a tin...

Sarah84848484 · 19/02/2022 00:35

Always shampoo!

prettybird · 19/02/2022 00:39

Matches.

MaebeaorNot · 19/02/2022 01:41

Ketchup (or buy too much and end up with 3 bottles);
Eggs;
Soap (because I have really problematic dry hands and am very fussy, so can’t get what I need in most supermarkets);
Bin bags - agh! Always!

CoffeeAndEnnui · 19/02/2022 02:09

Rice and tinned tomatoes. I always assume I have a good reserve built up. I am always wrong.

georgarina · 19/02/2022 04:34

Toothpaste
Dry foods - rice, lentils
Vitamins
Olives

Things that aren't pressingly essential like bread and milk but we still need.

TraceyLacey · 19/02/2022 07:33

I forget chocolate! I think while I'm in the supermarket I am trying to be virtuous and healthy and not buy any, but later at home I find I can't do without it!

Imgettingcheesefries · 19/02/2022 08:01

Bin bags, everytime

FoggySpecs · 19/02/2022 08:24

Bin bags

Mumofboys1 · 19/02/2022 09:09

Always the really normal stuff like bread, milk or fruit! Although my husband laughs as I normally end up forgetting a key part to a meal so he gets a text to grab something on the way home 🙈 usually quark or natural yoghurt!

MumC2141 · 19/02/2022 10:27

Usually it’s something different every time. Not usually the stuff we buy all the time like bread and milk, it’s the stuff that we buy less often that gets forgotten.

KittenKong · 19/02/2022 10:30

Quite often it’s the only thing I actually needed (and I come lit with bags of stuff I didn’t). Like custard.

littlese · 19/02/2022 10:45

Always forget bin bags!
