With so many different products to choose from and conflicting advice available for every skin type, for some people, it can take a lifetime to find a skincare routine that’s simple, affordable, and most importantly works wonders for your skin. With this in mind, The Nue Co. would like to hear what advice you would give your younger self about skincare and how to maintain a healthy routine.

Here’s what [[https://uk.thenueco.com/discount/mumsnet?redirect=/pages/barrier-culture?&utm_source=partnerships&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=mumsnet&utm_term=sponsoreddiscussion&utm_content=cta
The Nue Co.]] has to say:

“Whether it's uncomfortable bloating, restless nights or low immunity, we could all use a little help sometimes to make life easier. Our supplements for stress, gut health, immunity, skin, sleep and more are clean, proven and sustainable.

Our new launch, BARRIER CULTURE, comprises a cleanser and moisturiser duo, offering a universal, preventative approach to skincare that rebuilds the skin’s barrier, protects against pollution, and reduces plastic waste.

Plus, BARRIER CULTURE is 100% vegan, non-toxic and safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.”

Did you try out hundreds of different products before realising that a simple skincare routine works best for you? Did you swear by an expensive product for years only to find out that a cheaper alternative works just as well? Maybe you only recently discovered that your preferred skincare products were not environmentally friendly? Do you wish you had simply removed your makeup before going to bed? Or perhaps you would tell yourself not worry because you’re still searching for the perfect vegan product for your skin type.

Whatever you wish you could tell your younger self about skincare, all who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

I would tell my younger self to moisturise her neck religiously every time she moisturised her face.

PickAChew · 31/03/2021 18:55

Try harder to find some facial sunblock she wasn't allergic to.

BristolMum96 · 31/03/2021 19:24

I would say to start a skincare routine much earlier than I thought necessary

Theseptemberissues · 31/03/2021 19:42

Ditch the make-up wipes and PLEASE wear sunscreen!

StellatheCat · 31/03/2021 19:54

I would say to younger self - dont start smoking and dont overload your face with harsh chemicals to rid yourself of spots because you will end up with a red (and still spotty!) face. And do sleep Grin

Miisty · 31/03/2021 19:58

I would tell my younger self not to cover myself with baby oil and fry like a chicken to get a suntan .Wear sunglasses to a avoid cataracts as well as a hat Wear over factor 30 sunscreen .Drink plenty of fluids and lots of fruit and vegetables .In the 50sand 60s fruit was expensive

MummyBtothree · 31/03/2021 20:12

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!!!!!!

Asuwere · 31/03/2021 20:31

Drink plenty water, eat healthily, moisturise and DON'T pick spots!

ShowerOfShite · 31/03/2021 20:44

I'd tell my younger self to stop bloody smoking!

WowOoo · 31/03/2021 20:44

I would remind myself to not get too much sun. And to wear SPF. I did a lot of work outside in a hot country. I wonder if I could have avoided sun/age spots.

FreshBedding · 31/03/2021 22:11

Use the natural products as these benefit your skin the most, stop over complicating skincare

EvilHerbivore · 31/03/2021 22:33

Be grateful for the oily skin - we've still no wrinkles even 20 years later
(Or that might just be the day plumping them out!)

CocoandCleo · 01/04/2021 00:56

I would tell my younger self to wear sunscreen everyday, never forget to take your make up of overnight and keep your routine simple. You don't need a million products

littleburn · 01/04/2021 06:52

Wear SPF 50 everyday and your skin care routine needs to include your neck and décolletage!

BigGreen · 01/04/2021 07:08

I'd tell her to enjoy her beautiful radiant skin and not worry about make up.

DolphinDreams · 01/04/2021 07:11

Put sunblock on your hands as well as your face

QueenPaw · 01/04/2021 07:50

Step away from the paint stripper exfoliant 10-0-06 and wear SPF

waitingforsun · 01/04/2021 08:58

Wear SPF and products don't have to be expensive to be effective

emphasisofmatter · 01/04/2021 09:18

I'd tell my younger self to not be so lazy and remove all make up before going to sleep! And to use sunscreen way more often.

NativityDreaming · 01/04/2021 09:20

Sunblock and moisturiser every day! The sun’s damage, especially to the very fair skinned, is brutal.

ClearMountain · 01/04/2021 09:21

Get Botox at 30 BEFORE the wrinkles appear!

Nerakdrol21 · 01/04/2021 10:16

Always get as much sleep as possible wear a sunblock and a hat and always remove every scrap of makeup before bed. Be proud of your good skin

Oatsamazing · 01/04/2021 11:16

Always wear sunscreen and only use cleanser when you have to remove makeup. And welldone for eating so many vegetables, it's kept you looking young Grin

weebarra · 01/04/2021 14:22

Use sunscreen and don't smoke!

FindingMeno · 01/04/2021 17:56

Don't smoke.
Use sunscreen.
Smile a lot so you get happy wrinkles and not grumpy wrinkles!
