NOW CLOSED

With a school half term in our midst, you may be thinking about the ways you can keep your children occupied and active. Arla BIG Milk would like to hear about the Big Adventures you have planned or have been on this October half term.

Here’s what Arla Big Milk has to say: “We know how important it is to get your little explorers out in the world around them, so we’ve partnered with Magic Light to bring you yearlong BIG Adventures. From Gruffalo nature trail walks to BIG Adventures craft videos, there’s lots for you and your little one to get involved in. We’re also running an on pack monthly prize draw, available across UK grocery retailers, to give you the chance to win an amazing trip to Chessington World of Adventures. Arla Big Milk is simply fresh whole milk that’s enriched with essential nutrients so if you want to join in on the adventure, come visit our site to explore activities for your half term.”

What days out do you have planned for the half term? Do you have a trip to a theme or adventure park pencilled in? Perhaps you have plans to explore the great outdoors with your children? If you’ve already been on adventures this half term, what did you get up to?

Whatever your half term plans, post them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

During school holidays I feel exceptionally lucky to live by the sea as lovely walks and fun activities on the beach are completely free and only a five minute walk from our house. My middle child hates the feeling of sand on his feet and is even fearful of getting sand in his shoes so when he was younger he had to wear wellies on the beach at all times as it was the only way we could get him near the sand!
So this and every holiday has been spent enjoying our natural surroundings.

My son loves anything to do with Aviation so we will be visiting the airport to see Concorde and watch the planes taking off!

When the weather's kind, we spend as much time outdoors as we can. Once the clocks go back, darkness always seems to come too soon

caz123456 · 04/11/2018 15:42

Visiting the local escape room, and generally catching up with each other :)

We've been to Reyjavic, Iceland. Absolutely amazing and the kids loved it. Whale watching was the highlight but also the kids loved the Puffins. We went up a volcano which my son thought was the highlight. Beautiful place and will go back as soon as we can. :)

Derbyshire walks

HelenSw4les · 04/11/2018 17:24

Well I've just seen this and half-term is nearly over :(
We've had a lovely time, we visited our local country park on a dry but cold day and picked lots of leaves for arts and crafting and we made some lovely pictures.

We spent a couple of mornings improving our swimming and a had a tea party with friends on Friday too.

As you can see from our activities, you don't need to spend a lot of money to have a good time with the children.

This half term I'm spending time with my niece. I love spending time with my niece but she's a teenager now and she doesn't really want to get out of bed and definitely doesn't want to go out of the house. It was so much easier when she was little - she wanted to go everywhere!! At least it costs me less money if she wants to stay at home - as long as there's something with Ariana Grande on it, she'll be happy!!

This half term we had an halloween party and on Saturday we had a firework display at home

angela121262 · 04/11/2018 19:42

A trip to Knowsley Safari Park

ptak5566 · 04/11/2018 20:30

We have been busy baking, walking, collecting and be creative with what we have collected. Also some tv time and a shopping trip.

A Theme Park trip and swimming

babyloi · 04/11/2018 20:41

Ours was jam packed full of Halloween fun - from picking pumpkins, to carving them, to decorating our 'ginger-dead men', making crafts to spook the house up and hosting our Halloween party (and yes we did the monster mash!) Spook-tacular fun!

travelled the length of the country to meet up with both sets of Grandparents. It's exhausting being so far away from family.

Blondie1982 · 04/11/2018 21:18

A few days out exploring

lynsey1978 · 04/11/2018 21:58

A holiday to feurtaventura. The first time the children will go on a plane

EllaAutumn · 04/11/2018 22:00

Half term is over now, but I took my children to Adventure Valley, where we had a great day doing all the activities and carving pumpkins.

Lydia30 · 04/11/2018 22:15

We home educate so tend to work through the holidays. But, when all the children have gone back to school we do a lot of nature walks in the quiet country park

plavender · 04/11/2018 22:18

Spending some time with grandparents, several play-dates, a few autumn walks, and some down-time at home.

Jocelynne123 · 04/11/2018 22:43

Not that much fun for my daughter this half term but we will be painting. My dog grooming business burnt down when the shop next door caught fire. We found a new premises but it needs totally decorating and we are starting t from scratch. She did have fun painting with family. We did go to the cinema and to see the fireworks. But she has been so understanding about why we can't do lots of fun things this half term xx

blue25 · 04/11/2018 23:25

Gardening, trip to the seaside, DVD day and homework day

Ffeyone · 04/11/2018 23:35

Family films and board games.
Trip out on grandparents boat and a couple of meals out.

TargaryenDragon · 05/11/2018 00:17

We went to a local theme park, a light show in the park and swimming.

Bellroyd · 05/11/2018 07:54

Just try to getb through the week unscathed. It's hard to try to entertain them for a whole day at a time so I encourage them to play with their friends.
