NOW CLOSED

With a school half term in our midst, you may be thinking about the ways you can keep your children occupied and active. Arla BIG Milk would like to hear about the Big Adventures you have planned or have been on this October half term.

Here’s what Arla Big Milk has to say: “We know how important it is to get your little explorers out in the world around them, so we’ve partnered with Magic Light to bring you yearlong BIG Adventures. From Gruffalo nature trail walks to BIG Adventures craft videos, there’s lots for you and your little one to get involved in. We’re also running an on pack monthly prize draw, available across UK grocery retailers, to give you the chance to win an amazing trip to Chessington World of Adventures. Arla Big Milk is simply fresh whole milk that’s enriched with essential nutrients so if you want to join in on the adventure, come visit our site to explore activities for your half term.”

What days out do you have planned for the half term? Do you have a trip to a theme or adventure park pencilled in? Perhaps you have plans to explore the great outdoors with your children? If you’ve already been on adventures this half term, what did you get up to?

Whatever your half term plans, post them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

We will be going on nature hunts, baking for Halloween, going to the cinema, and a trip to the Big Smoke

We've already had half term in Scotland. We got away to the sun for a week in the Canary Islands. Best day out was at the zoo, where we fed giraffes. Close second was jumping in the waves on a windy day at the beach.

missymousey · 23/10/2018 20:50

Making turnip lanterns (that's more for DH than DS, he's never made one!); walks in the woods; digging up the garden; watching diggers.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 23/10/2018 21:27

My son is not in school yet so we will be miffed all the toddler groups are not on but will be exploring the local parks more.

whitsunfells · 23/10/2018 21:32

The weather has been absolutely mingin here so trips outside have often ended in a sneaky stop by our favourite coffee shop for hot chocolate! My kids are hardy though and still love throwing stones at the beach at this time of the year (unfortunately for much less hardy me).

We've got lots of plans for half term next week, I can't wait! Me and DH are both off work with DS5, we're going on a pumpkin trail at a local museum, a Halloween mini disco, den building and bush craft at our local woods. DH and I are even getting a day to our selves thanks to DM, which we haven't had for a long time. Really looking forward to some time together after a busy half term.

juju3 · 24/10/2018 21:03

DitaFajitaJones · 24/10/2018 21:29

We have a day of Halloween activities arranged, a trip into our local city to go to the museums and galleries, a good ol' cinema trip and plenty of walks, cycling and swimming too :)

I try to have activities available to do but will let my daughter pick what she would like to do each day :)

farhanac · 24/10/2018 22:24

Already over for us - flew by far too quickly

clareycat · 24/10/2018 22:52

We're kicking off our half term with a stay at Butlins Minehead for an action packed Halloween weekend spectacular. After that we will be heading to Novichok central (AKA Salisbury) to visit Gramps. Some lovely leafy autumn walks and forest exploring is calling us.

vickyors · 25/10/2018 07:46

We're off to Dorset with the extended family. Walks, swims, trips to the beach.. puzzles! Cannot wait!

sootyo · 25/10/2018 10:46

Walking the dog, exploring the countryside with home cooking.

rhinosuze · 25/10/2018 12:00

The grandparents are coming down for the week to entertain her so we can save our holidays at work. They will be doing a few days at centre parcs so a quiet house for us this half term

pixelwife · 25/10/2018 12:18

We've got a 2 week half term so week 1 we're baking a Halloween rainbow cake and pumpkin picking. On week 2 both of my children are doing a football camp all week, which they love!

Didiusfalco · 25/10/2018 14:04

Off to the countryside - we live in a city so its nice to get away somewhere quieter. We will enjoy the autumn colours, go to a National Trust place we like and hopefully if its not raining look at the stars on a clear night (the light pollution is bad where we live). Can't wait.

emmmaaa26 · 25/10/2018 16:09

Half term plans are to do lots of crafts to prepare for halloween. Also going to go pumpkin picking and carve them out. Plan to go to one of the theme park events a few days before halloween itself. Also just the normal stuff like going to the park and visiting family.
