The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

We have had lots of staff changes in the team this year and sadly RebeccaEMumsnet is leaving us at Christmas to go back up north - we wish her the best - she’s a Star.

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A Just for Tots weekend break at Butlins in Minehead in May - this would be for a family in a newly refurbished Seaside Apartment with premium dining (worth more than £800) or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend in Matalan or
~ A REN skincare Moroccan Rose Otto Luxury set worth £49

In 2016, we have given away over £50,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

Our faves this year have been giving MNers and their families money to spend in PizzaExpress on their new menu, sending them to the Slumberland factory (and then hearing how their new mattresses helped make bedtime bliss), having a Wizarding Time with a massive MN group at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Watford and being one of the first to try and hear loads about new Coca-Cola Zero Sugar at Coke HQ. We LOVED your imaginary play tales for MegaBloks and we were thrilled when our baby names survey made the headlines.

For a chance to win one of the prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel * - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on our new-for-this-year twitter page @MumsnetInsight *

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin
AnnMumsnet, PoppyMumsnet, EmmaMumsnet, JustineBMumsnet (not that one), and RebeccaEMumsnet.

Fun being on the panel for decorating your own Easter egg

bloodywellhowmuch · 05/01/2017 18:46

Joined the panel.

Happy to test almost anything ( new car?)

With older children it's always interesting to see how they react to new products ( as try this because I said so no longer works)

SpecialStains · 05/01/2017 21:45

a) I'm really chuffed to be testing a new cot and mattress for my baby. The cot colour even matches my nursery!
b) I'd love to test a cordless vacuum cleaner (god, I'm getting boring and old! I could say anything in the world, and yet I'd love to test cleaning equipment!).
c) Have already joined the panel!
d) I'm sadly not on twitter. I wouldn't have anything interesting to tweet, and the people of facebook already see far too many pictures of my cat.

Thanks Mumsnet!

I did the trial at David Lloyd and I'm now a member there following that. It's expensive but loads for me and the kids to do and healthier, happier mum.

AVT5 · 06/01/2017 15:17

would love to product test anything baby/ young child related! toys are great for product testing aswell :)

KitKat1985 · 06/01/2017 19:32

I'd love the chance to review some family attractions / days outs or restaurants to see how family friendly they are.

ColdCottage · 06/01/2017 19:42

Followed on Twitter.

Really enjoy testing out the products. Thank you. Keeping my fingers crossed I will in a voucher one day Smile

Would love to test out and feed back on hotels as lots of the smarter ones, whilst lovely aren't always that family friendly room wise if you aren't in a suite. (I used them for work, sadly I don't have personal 5* hotel budget).

Quietvoiceplease · 07/01/2017 00:10

This is tragic but true, I would really lovely to test those cordless battery vacuum cleaners that you see everywhere now. My MIL has one and the children fight to vacuum her house with hers (really, they do, which is weird because if I ask them to do anything at our home it seems to be some sort of affront to their human rights apparently). Anyway, basically, I'm keen but don't want a vacuum that needs charging after each room.
Other household items are always good to know: along the lines of MBPE, always good to know those things which are genuinely labour saving or helpful, rather than something that sits in the cupboard.
Books, definitely.
Oh, I could go on...

Quietvoiceplease · 07/01/2017 00:14

Oh, and to add... products deslgned for tweenagers/teenagers/young adults.... it would be great to allow my t(w)eenagers to review products. Partly because it is good fun, but also because it is a great learning opportunity for them about how market testing works, and how consumers can influence manufacturers.
(perhaps household cleaning products aimed at teenagers could be a winner??!)

RueDeDay · 07/01/2017 05:42

We were lucky enough to be one of the tablet testing families, and DD loves hers so that would definitely be the favourite! I am a member of the Insight Panel as well and quite enjoy adding my 2 cents worth... As a single Mum, no one ever asks me for my opinion so it makes quite the pleasant change!!

sealight123 · 08/01/2017 10:38

a) I have really appreciated taking part in all the threads this year. Whether it has been product testing, having a discussion on one of the forums or by just reading through the comments. It is reassuring (especially as a first time parent) that there is a community of people that are going going through some of the same experiences as me. Also...it's nice to have a chuckle with them too. You have really created a great community here.

b) I'm sure a lot of people will thing I am a right buzzkill but I would like to see some more threads on educational/development product tests. My daughter is 5 and loves science/planets/bugs/exploration...just everything! It would be nice to see what other parents do to keep their children inspired, motivated and happy with education :) To be honest though, I would just be happy with any product tests, they are always different, always fun. keep it up!!
c) Part of the panel and proud :)
d) I am now a twitter follower. Woop woop!
