The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

We have had lots of staff changes in the team this year and sadly RebeccaEMumsnet is leaving us at Christmas to go back up north - we wish her the best - she’s a Star.

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A Just for Tots weekend break at Butlins in Minehead in May - this would be for a family in a newly refurbished Seaside Apartment with premium dining (worth more than £800) or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend in Matalan or
~ A REN skincare Moroccan Rose Otto Luxury set worth £49

In 2016, we have given away over £50,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

Our faves this year have been giving MNers and their families money to spend in PizzaExpress on their new menu, sending them to the Slumberland factory (and then hearing how their new mattresses helped make bedtime bliss), having a Wizarding Time with a massive MN group at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Watford and being one of the first to try and hear loads about new Coca-Cola Zero Sugar at Coke HQ. We LOVED your imaginary play tales for MegaBloks and we were thrilled when our baby names survey made the headlines.

For a chance to win one of the prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel * - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on our new-for-this-year twitter page @MumsnetInsight *

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin
AnnMumsnet, PoppyMumsnet, EmmaMumsnet, JustineBMumsnet (not that one), and RebeccaEMumsnet.

We loved testing the Lloyds sunscreen - it was great for my dd with sensitive skin.

ssd · 31/12/2016 11:14

I really appreciate when bigger value items are tested, like hoovers or washing machines, as I save up for these items for ages and dont want to spend money on anything that hasnt been tested by someone like me!

dannydyerismydad · 31/12/2016 14:44

I had a great time testing a steam mop a couple of years back. Would love to test more gadgets, days out or anything edible!

Leeanne111 · 31/12/2016 15:51

Thanks for choosing us to test pedigree chum, our dog really loved the trial. I would like to trial any household goods or any pet products again. Thanks

cookiefiend · 31/12/2016 16:09

Pit rock was great- a permenant place on our shopping list now. The Breast pump (right at the start of the year/ end of last?) was also great.

I love trying things and often end up switching to them and reccomending them so I can see how it benefits the companies who sell them too.

I would love to try any gadgets, but equally any lotions and potions for me, the children or the house.

cather · 31/12/2016 18:35

I have enjoyed reviewing books this year. I would love to test some nice skincare products like Clarins or Clinique

HattietheManatee · 31/12/2016 19:17

I've been a bit too busy settling into a new job this year (full time with three kids, eek!) to put myself forward for much. But I'm following you on Twitter, and would love to see product tests on washing machines (mine is leaking after 10 years solid performance!), short family breaks (Centerparcs type ones) or anything that could make my life easier!!! (Mid week meals prepared for me please?!) I'm hoping that 2017 I can get more involved.

ILikeBigBumpsAndICannotLie · 31/12/2016 19:28

I've loved the chance to do product testing. I was ridiculously excited by the bin bags and potato tests. They've prompted big debates, especially the bin bags. Hope to be chosen for more next year.

jumie · 31/12/2016 20:57

I loved testing the Milton Solo steriliser. Still use it most days.

feejee · 31/12/2016 21:01

I think my ultimate item to test would be a robot vacuum cleaner! Its the stuff i dream of.

HungryHorace · 31/12/2016 21:37

We've loved the bin bags (I just had to buy a new pack as they ran out!), Pizza Express and the kids' tablet.

Next year I'd like to test more restaurants, a vacuum cleaner (ours is dying!) and (very, very wishful thinking and never going to happen!) a Volvo ShockGrin please.

Lilbratz · 31/12/2016 21:50

I have followed you on twitter and joined the panel.
I would love to test a fitness tracker, pet food, bedding, I'm pretty open to new things! :)

TheFrenchLieutenantsMonkey · 31/12/2016 22:29

I've joined the panel. Also willing to test anything. Especially bedding ... I have wiggly sleepers and they can't keep their duvets in the covers. And pillows. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect pillow. Cat food or help with allergies (gadgets or remedies) I have 3 cats which I'm allergic to (along with dust, pollen, feathers and other animal fur...i know I'm dropping to bits)

Nikx85 · 31/12/2016 23:39

I have just joined, can't wait to have my opinion heard and test some new things x

GiGiraffe · 01/01/2017 08:04

Would like to test small appliances, and see more reviews of kitchen tools particularly

EmilyRosanne · 01/01/2017 08:41

I would love to product test a high chair this year. With little one weaning and so many to choose from!

ChoccyJules · 01/01/2017 16:44

D) followed on Twitter :-)

Fumnudge · 01/01/2017 18:42

Beauty products. There are so many threads about what works, what might be good, etc. so an honestly answered one from multiple testers would be great.

tootssweet · 01/01/2017 19:40

I've been on the panel for a few years & have been quite fortunate this year in that I won two different prizes. One for attending an Angry Birds preview that didn't actually get shown (but the Trafford Centre Odeon staff were amazing & went above & beyond to turn it into a positive visit for my family!) I was then lucky to win the prize which included a years supply of pepperami (that was a big box - and I'm vegetarian!Grin)
I also won a voucher for commenting on (& stealing) ideas for Halloween. Sadly my local Lidl made me feel like I was a shoplifter when I went to use it.
I'd like to see more family friendly events, venues, restaurants etc reviewed as even DP will say 'consult Mumsnet' before we go places or buy big ticket items.
Fitness products, tweens & teens products/ activities or things for families with a wide age gap/range in dc's e.g. toddler & tween as it's very hard to find days out or holidays that have enough variety to appeal/ justify expense

misshoohaa · 01/01/2017 20:17

I'd love to test herbal teas! There's so many popping up on the market, I would love to try before I buy.....

Also any product testing to make housework easier.

LittleMoonbuggy · 01/01/2017 20:28

I'd love to test a family friendly restaurant or attraction for a day out.

happy13 · 01/01/2017 20:42

RupertsMum2 · 01/01/2017 22:23

I would love to product test children's shoes/boots or clothes and anything edible.

jo4chelsea · 02/01/2017 07:35

following on twitter and RT'ed , I would love to have the opportunity to test and review more children's toys / gadgets xx

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 02/01/2017 08:58

I've enjoyed being part of the insight team and having the opportunity to try a few different products as well as complete surveys. My favourite product was the PitROK deodorant, amazing stuff which has changed my life (well my underarm skin anyway!)
Thanks for the opportunities to get involved and try out different products. And good luck Rebeccamumsnet in your move Star
