The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

We have had lots of staff changes in the team this year and sadly RebeccaEMumsnet is leaving us at Christmas to go back up north - we wish her the best - she’s a Star.

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A Just for Tots weekend break at Butlins in Minehead in May - this would be for a family in a newly refurbished Seaside Apartment with premium dining (worth more than £800) or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend in Matalan or
~ A REN skincare Moroccan Rose Otto Luxury set worth £49

In 2016, we have given away over £50,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

Our faves this year have been giving MNers and their families money to spend in PizzaExpress on their new menu, sending them to the Slumberland factory (and then hearing how their new mattresses helped make bedtime bliss), having a Wizarding Time with a massive MN group at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Watford and being one of the first to try and hear loads about new Coca-Cola Zero Sugar at Coke HQ. We LOVED your imaginary play tales for MegaBloks and we were thrilled when our baby names survey made the headlines.

For a chance to win one of the prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel * - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on our new-for-this-year twitter page @MumsnetInsight *

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin
AnnMumsnet, PoppyMumsnet, EmmaMumsnet, JustineBMumsnet (not that one), and RebeccaEMumsnet.

I am fairly new to mumsnet and have just joined the panel.

So far the support, advice and help have been phenomenal. I would love to give something back by testing and reviewing products, foods, days out anything at all really that would help this fantastic community

BabCNesbitt · 28/12/2016 13:33

C. I've signed up for the insight panel. I'm about to have DD2 and would be interested in testing out anything aimed at co-sleeping, as we did that with DD1 (now 5) but I'm impressed by some of the new 'pod' type products I've seen on the market since then!

Mine is along the same lines QueenYnci in that I'd like to do some mystery shopper visits especially if they were related to businesses being ASD friendly. Sympathetic staff, restaurants that will accommodate needs (e.g., table in a certain section, sauces on the side and so on), stores with lower noise levels, etc.

The management team of our local shopping centre has made a commitment to the ASD support group in this area that they will work to make their centre as ASD friendly as possible. They've created a sensory garden and a quiet space, have given staff training in how they can support visitors with ASD, allow you to prebook slots for first come first served events such as Santa's grotto if you ring ahead so that you don't need to queue (subject to availability), hold quiet shopping sessions and so on.

I think businesses who do things like this deserve recognition and would definitely back some sort of mystery shopper test where they could be given a mumsnet ASD friendly award like the mumsnet family friendly awards places like Butlins have.

I would be beyond delighted to test out and review any family-friendly holidays - anywhere at all! Would also be great to test any home fitness products or family-friendly health clubs. Product test new toys?

Trolleybus1 · 28/12/2016 14:07

taking and being a mumsnetter

alibubbles · 28/12/2016 14:20

I would be delighted to test or win anything. I think my name has gone into hibernation as I have been on the panel from the beginning!

I enter everything as soon as the pleading emails come through and then get grumpy with the constant emails reminding me to enter when I did it days beforehand!

PeggyMitchell123 · 28/12/2016 14:32

I enjoyed receiving a tablet from EE for my son to test, he uses it alot when we need a distraction and it really comes in handy.

I would like to test out more toddler snacks, we tested little dish go go biscuits a while ago and we now buy them. Its nice to be introduced to a new product that you would not have tried otherwise.

Have followed on twitter

brooksl38 · 28/12/2016 14:34

I've joined the panel for 2017....

xtoniax · 28/12/2016 15:01

I've done a couple of different nappy tests this year which has been good. Would love to test out a family holiday 😉.
I've also followed the twitter feed

asuwere · 28/12/2016 15:01

I've been lucky to test a few things this year: go go snacks, nappies, suncream, nasal spray. The DC enjoy testing things and giving their opinions.

It would be great to test steam mop/cleaners, iron or vacuum - the type of thing that reviews are really important as its annoying to pay for one to find out you want/need different features.
Although, to be honest, I'm very happy to test anything :)

Thanks MN!

annarack99 · 28/12/2016 15:20

car seats - we are really stumped as to which are the best type for our children and it would be great to try before we buy!

BellsaRinging · 28/12/2016 15:33

Any educational AIDS for dyslexia, cars (!) as am looking for a new one, new food ideas, good books for 12 y/o boys, days out in the uk...anything really!

lexy444 · 28/12/2016 15:40

We tested some pasta sauces which was good fun. I'm happy to test anything really, would just like to get selected for another trial.

But my favourite Mumsnet activity of 2016 was going to the Bookfest. Hope they do that event again!

DurhamDurham · 28/12/2016 15:58

I love taking part in the product tests and discussions.
I was lucky enough to take part in the Nice n Easy hair colour test with my daughter and we had great fun taking photos and trying out the hair dye.

I don't get chosen for as many product test and put that down to the fact that both my children have reached adulthood now so I probably don't meet the criteria. I'd love more product tests for me and my grown up family; most of the people I know who read Mumsnet have grown up children so there's definitely a market for it. I'm not at the stage to want to go to Gransnet and want to carry on using Mumsnet for as long as I can.

Thanks Mumsnet for another great year 😀

Icedsilhouette · 28/12/2016 16:05

I tested an anti-perspirant aimed at new mums and pregnant women. Was perfect as I had my little girl 2 days before it arrived 😊

Flower752 · 28/12/2016 16:49

We would love to test a new washing machine and a cordless vac and a steam mop, things I know would help me as a mum. Days out for families with teenagers would be good to test and cook books, cos I'm always looking for new ideas. We are all foodies and would enjoy testing new food products too.

DurhamDurham · 28/12/2016 16:57

Flower Yes to food testing, that would be the best!

impostersyndrome · 28/12/2016 17:30

I've enjoyed reading and commenting on books, especially as they've encouraged me to try new authors.

Shufflebum · 28/12/2016 17:49

Would love to test a Dyson or mattress, need both but so much choice. I have been very lucky inning things in competitions on here so can't complain!

BigBugs · 28/12/2016 18:01

I am on the panel. 😊 Also I absolutely loved testing the AEG tumble dryer!

JS06 · 28/12/2016 18:43

I would love to review some review sites so that we can drill down those we can trust and rely on.

I'd also love to be involved in some projects to do with teenage financing - i.e., early interventions with small amounts put away in stakeholder pensions

Summerholidayblues · 28/12/2016 18:49

I would love to product test children's clothes, toys and books and family days out / experiences. Basically anything where I get to see / hear my children's reactions too! That and food and beauty stuff which would be more for me!

underitoveritthroughit · 28/12/2016 19:31

I've tested a few things over the last few years so unsure exactly what was this years.
Perhaps the concentrated Comfort Pure which actually lasted ages and I am still using the smaller bottle to decant into to keep less clutter under the sink.

I'd love to test a fridge freezer or sofa as I can't afford to replace my 12 year old suite or the freebie fridge I was donated, who's seal has gone and I think it's just a matter of time before it gives up on me.

Food is also a welcome test and we enjoyed the pasta sauces we were sent (though that might have been last year)

Thanks to mnhq for selecting me for previous tests and I'm looking forward to more next year.

wannabestressfree · 28/12/2016 19:32

I won one of the insight prizes for computer games and won some love to shop vouchers last January. I have been having treatment for a serious now looking like terminal illness and it paid for my shopping for two months at a time I was skint.
I honestly cannot thank mumsnet enough. I thought others always won and it was me :)

Tigerlily13 · 28/12/2016 19:39

I've loved being on the Cadbury panel and testing chocolate! The baking using giant buttons was great fun.
