No text but money has appeared in the bank account. SD 7/3 backpayment of £1596.20

Am thinking that’s probably MR care and LR mobility which is what we got last time (I didn’t get the renewal done in time so this went in as a new claim).

Christyyyy · 02/07/2024 07:19

Awarded Fri. Was due back pay today ... nothing as of yet

Same date i was awarded eagerly awaiting the postman for the letter to say what we have been awarded too and how long for 🤞🏻

Christyyyy · 02/07/2024 08:38

@Kayleigh32 have you got your back pay yet?

Christyyyy · 02/07/2024 08:40

Me again

I saw on gov site about the child disability element And then 2 amounts (around £100 and something and the £400+) which one determines what you get?
I know the 400+ is for "severely disabled" child element. But how do we know what we're entitled to? Does anyone know what rate DLA is for what rate of disabled child element?

If your on uc you can update your child to get disability elements, it’s something like £186 for low and middle care and £480 for high rate care, you can also add the carers element with is nearly £200 if you provide 35 hours or more of care for that child, you can ask for it to be backdated to when your child was awarded Dla from aswell I will send you the screen shot on how to do it

Hrc= 400+ severely disabled element
Lrc or mrc = 170+ disabled element

I have a question, since I filled in the DLA form my son (2.5) has started scratching my face, slapping me, pulling my hair, biting and leaving me with noticeable marks all over my face. He sleeps worse now than what I stated on he forms, I did make clear he has sleep problems anyway but its become so much worse. Lastly, sounds ridiculous but I know you'll all understand, his needs are so high that I HAVE to sit on the floor 18 hours a day playing with plastic cups or he'll have a full blown meltdown and hit me/himself, it sounds stupid but im not exaggerating when I say it is all day, I wouldn't dare get up because the outcome is always horrendous to the point where my life in other areas and my mental health is seriously deterioratjng 😢
I can cope with playing, always played with my first born - I love playing but there's playing and then theres being held hostage every second of the day, cant even go for a wee as its not worth him hurting himself. My question is though his needs were high when I filled the form in but so much higher now? Is this worth mentioning or would you leave things as they are?
Im clearly having a bad day so don't know if im right to update them or not or if there's even any point at this stage

Ffs, that's so shit.
So they didn't give you a decision just sounded like it was a no? You cant really tell from their voices as most people in that line of work naturally have miserable voices/no soul.
I still have my fingers crossed for you Lindsey ❤

I would write a week diary of what he’s like and send it in, I filled out my daughters form but felt it didn’t really go into detail enough of what’s she’s like on a daily basis so I sent in a diary, still waiting for a decision but I’m hoping it’s helped

I am unsure if you’ve already got a decision outcome if you haven’t then you can send in some extra information. If you child attends nursery it might be worth getting them to fill in support of this behaviour or any plan that he has.

I wouldn’t think the worst it might be that he’s offered a lower award than they wanted to give and then when he has his appointments and you tell them he might qualify for a higher award, keep positive, it sounds like they will make a decision today, they usually make it after that phone call, good luck

Hi so this is very much my life sometimes it can get very hard especially with not much sleep we can be very grumpy but my DD is now nearly 4 (still not understanding anything) and it does get easier to deal with 🙏🏼 hold on there I’m not even allowed to go on my phone it gets threw across the room I have to hide lol my full attention has to be on her! But now I see the funny side and tell her she is cheeky and find a distraction but this took a while to figure out you will get there when they are younger it’s so much harder x

I don’t see why he said 2 weeks because he’s got your claim open right now looking at it to make a decision, the only way it would be 2 weeks is if they was waiting for you to have the appointments and you calling to tell them ( assuming they are in the next week or 2 )

The appointments are 5th and 9th he went on to. Say he won't be waiting for the outcomes as he feels. He has enough evidence but I was to. Contact them after apps with outcomes I did say takes a while for reviews of apps. To. Come back. To me though
