Time for a new thread ready for another week of waiting.
Hopefully lots of us get the results we're so desperately awaiting 🤞🏻❤

The appointments are 5th and 9th he went on to. Say he won't be waiting for the outcomes as he feels. He has enough evidence but I was to. Contact them after apps with outcomes I did say takes a while for reviews of apps. To. Come back. To me though

Then I would say if you called at like 1 they would have made there decision and it would be on the system by then. Don’t rely on getting a text they don’t always come. Good luck I feel like today is your day to hopefully get some positive news

I would write a week diary of what he’s like and send it in, I filled out my daughters form but felt it didn’t really go into detail enough of what’s she’s like on a daily basis so I sent in a diary, still waiting for a decision but I’m hoping it’s helped

That's a good idea. Will be doing this, thank you x

I am unsure if you’ve already got a decision outcome if you haven’t then you can send in some extra information. If you child attends nursery it might be worth getting them to fill in support of this behaviour or any plan that he has.

His 1:1 wrote a statement in the DLA form and tbh it was well written and explained so much but little about his behaviour because he masks a lot at nursery, gets constant attention because he has a 1:1 but obviously its different at home, sometimes I have to say no which is often when he hits me and also the dishwasher still needs loading, other child still needs time with me so at home is a lot worse that nursery.
I have mentioned it and shown his support worker at a group he attends so maybe they could write something up for me.
Thank you for the advice, I appreciate your reply

Yeah I have considered ringing later this afternoon I'll see how the day goes have ya heard decisions being verified by a manager before?

BusyMamma4 · 02/07/2024 11:22

Anyone know what date they are up to now? I’ve seen some end of feb and beginning of March been awarded or how long are claims taking? I’ve seen some taking 15 weeks some taking 20+ weeks.
just trying to see if they have caught up on the backlog to stop my obsessive brain going into overdrive 😅

I always thought that case managers had to get the decision signed off by the decision maker but I ask the call handler last week and he said there just starting to call all the decisions makers the same thing now a case managers, so I’m just not sure anymore they all say different things

Nothing is plain is it even the dm when talking was muffled I had just pick out what I did hear and he repeated some. Stuff to me but taking 2 weeks to. Sign a decision off seems far fetched

I wonder if they’ve changed there system because on Wednesday I was told mine was with case manager waiting for dm ( sounded like it just needed signing off ) and now I’m being told that it’s with dm but they won’t tell me if it’s been looked at or not just that it’s with one, so that’s really confused me. I wonder if they go into a pile now to be signed off 🤔 I’m going to call at 1, feel like I’m harassing them but there not being straight with me so I have to keep calling, I just keep being told a few days despite being told loads of times I would have a decision by Friday just gone

TwinklyFox · 02/07/2024 11:46

Scan date 9/4
Hoping it won't be too much longer 🙈

MVhx · 02/07/2024 11:46

@BusyMamma4 hey im SD 13.03 and still nothing! It’s been with DM nearly 10 days though and I sent new evidence (special delivery yesterday) so hoping it’s any time x

Fingers crossed you get awarded what your child deserves soon.
this waiting is absolutely soul destroying.
everytime I’ve rung i keep getting told different wait times so I’ve given up just going to wait it out (well hopefully) 😅 x

Shazzle88 · 02/07/2024 12:02

@PollyH3 have you had your decision text yet? Xxx

MVhx · 02/07/2024 12:07

@BusyMamma4 i know it really is! It’s such a ridiculous time scale especially considering all our situations with our children. We really don’t need anymore stress and uncertainty in our lives.
I’m going to call around 3.30/4 and do that everyday now.
on a postive note for you- my eldest (ADHD) SD was 28.03 and went to DM on 24th June and was rewarded a couple of hours later. His was less complex then my youngest claim (he’s non verbal ASD) so 🤞🏼 you hear soon too and you get what the outcome you child needs ❤️

Aussielover · 02/07/2024 12:08

I was told, 2 weeks or so again, new evidence/forms/info is taking upto 2 weeks to be scanned on, and not before 7 days because of back log of documents they've got to scan x
Does anyone know if that's changed x

OneGreenBird · 02/07/2024 12:12

ArtfulJoker · 02/07/2024 10:13

Hi so this is very much my life sometimes it can get very hard especially with not much sleep we can be very grumpy but my DD is now nearly 4 (still not understanding anything) and it does get easier to deal with 🙏🏼 hold on there I’m not even allowed to go on my phone it gets threw across the room I have to hide lol my full attention has to be on her! But now I see the funny side and tell her she is cheeky and find a distraction but this took a while to figure out you will get there when they are younger it’s so much harder x

Its extremely hard at times isn't it, yeah you're right lack of sleep etc definitely play a huge part 😫
Can 100% relate to the phone/constant attention situation my son is exactly the same!
I hope so, im glad things do get better. Thank you for giving me hope, I really needed that so appreciate your message ❤

I tried to phone this morning to update them on my sons decline in hearing despite using his hearing aid he’s more dependent on lip reading but after over an hour on hold I give up the music was driving me insane 😅
my son doesn’t have any diagnosis or he’s not on any pathway etc so think it’s going to be decline despite him only attending school for 1 hour a day because of his behaviour since February and I’ve had to stay in the school incase I’m needed to get him he runs off, no sense of danger or stranger danger, personal space (he will try and hug everyone) I’m the one to restrain him and calm him down, despite him having a risk assessment at school they wouldn’t fill in the someone who knows the child part because he don’t have a diagnosis (he’s got severe behavioural problems, GDD and hearing loss) sorry for the long post but it’s been a tough couple of months x

I know I've been keeping up with the thread to follow you as you was todm by Friday last week I was told on thru day decision was imminent obv not but told. Me he was looking at it Thursday and Friday then yday told me no update still with him then he said he's waiting his manager sign it off but could. Be 2.weeks he just weren't making sense like send the outcomes of your apps so. I thought maybe he's waiting in them then then he said he's made his decision on the evidence and won't wait for them. Apps but send the outcomes when I have them this is why I came. On here to question it in case anyone had the same of its a decline I'll use the repowrtss from apps coming up. As extra I guess maybe that's what he was getting at. Cx

The music is very annoying!
oh hun that sounds so hard I bet it’s been extremely tough- I think the school should be doing a lot more! Neither of my sons have an official diagnosis - they are both on pathway though and the school and nursery filled out the people who know part (no detailed at all though!)
have you tried to push the school? Sounds like he needs to be on a pathway at the very least. My youngest has been extremely differcult too, I wake up every morning thinking I can’t do another day! He’s 3 and crying from the minute he wakes up, gets very frustrated, scratching and seems to be going through a phase of taking his trousers off 🤦🏻‍♀️ so I was there at 9.15am in a soft play trying the keep my child dressed before I’d even had chance to get a coffee 😂.
really hope they take it all into consideration, sounds like he really needs the extra care element and you do. It would be nice to feel seen and heard!
take care, keep me updated xx

I wanted to give you reassurance on hearing loss as my child is diagnosed and also ASD (waiting diagnosis) this is pre school and was awarded. Does your child have a teacher of the deaf? I think they are very helpful when writing supporting statements.

Hi thank you for your reply he was diagnosed with glue ear and hearing loss in his left year in 2022, he’s awaiting ENT appointment for grommets. No he hasn’t got a teacher of the deaf. His teacher pulled me 2 weeks ago stating he’s struggling with hearing in class (he’s only in school 1 hour) and he’s relying more on lip reading. I’ve phoned audiology and it’s going to be about 6-8 weeks before they can offer him an appointment 😩 in the meantime looks like he’s going to have to struggle with not being able to hear properly unless I can get a private audiologist appointment for him

I went through the exact same thing a year ago due to the glue ear we managed to have the operation last year. You really have to chase them up for the appointments. I think the headband hearing aids are not great for ASD kids maybe request the ear ones as my LO kept pulling it off. You can request the referral through the audiology department at your next appointment. We sorted an ECHP through them. They’ve been amazing! Although the lip reading is still there apparently takes some time. We got awarded DLA last year just sent the audiology and ENT letters so I think you will be fine. Doing a COC now as needs have significantly increased. Hopefully you hear good news soon. 🤞🏻

Just called, my daughter has been awarded MRC for 2 years, I do think she qualifies for HRC but she hasn’t been seen by paediatrician etc yet so I’m happy with that until renewal, I will put in for LRM before her 5th birthday because she more than qualifies for that ☺️ good luck to everyone still waiting
