Decline for us. One of the reasons being that she can attend school for half a day despite me sending evidence that she hasn’t attended for a full week in over a year, hasn’t attended at all since January and now has medical provision for education via the LA. They’ve literally said a load of rubbish and gone on about how her dizziness is managed when that’s only one of many symptoms. Ffs.

Aww no sorry you got declined , are you going to do a mr ? x

NimbleQuail · 15/07/2024 15:59

Long Covid..will do a MR but I’m not holding out any hope. Her life has literally been ruined she’s lost all of her friends and can’t leave the house.

I'm so sorry to hear this, how cruel and unfair.
If only they lived a day in your life, they would understand then!
Agree that you should definitely ask for a MR.

Hello a quick one about UC. Does anybody know how long it takes them to back pay carers and disabled element on universal credit? They’ve told me it has to be verified before going to a decision maker. Thank you!

I would like to know this too! I just received a letter on my journal saying they've agreed to pay from my award date. Not sure what happens next lol x

I’ve now even had that 😂 I literally got awarded dla Thursday last week so rang to find out my date it started undated uc they’ve put my carers element into this months payment but have said there’s no time limit on the back pay and it has to be accepted my a DM first. It’s so annoying I just like to be in a routine and know when I’ve got money coming in and out. It will go into savings for my kids but still be nice to know when lol xx

Im also still waiting to hear back from them i done all my changes messaged in journal heard nothing so bit the bullet an called them the man i spoke to said all had gone through to be verified and will be added to next assessment period but he said i cant tell you how long it will be for back pay as they have to go through it all to make sure they pay the right amount owed, i had a message in my journal a few days back asking if i was claiming cares allowance which i said no as i work 22 hours and earn over the £150 a week so didnt think i could not heard anything else since no letters or messages from them

It took a little over two weeks for the decision to be made. I thought it would be a bit quicker than that tbh but at this point I'm used to waiting lol hopefully you'll hear back soon. I'll let you know if I get any updates x

babybellx · 15/07/2024 17:24

Is anyone still waiting around the times of 11/03? 18 weeks today still no decision:( x

I'm sorry to hear this. It's so disheartening when you get a decline and the reasons for decline can be another kick in the teeth.

I’ve been told it needs to be verified and go to a dm. Can I ring up and ask if this info has been passed onto Dm? Because they take ages to reply in journal. I also don’t claim carers because I work part time too

I ended up just calling in the end as was asking for help on how to do the changes but i seen back on here someone added a pic detailing how to do it so went off that added a message on journal saying can someone get back to me if everything was done right nothing for 3 days so i called an he said yes i had done everything right 🙈 sick of the waiting game now so just called them in the end no harm in calling to see whats what though, have they not added the disabled child element for you also?

No they haven’t! Just carers element this is what confused me. Apparently the disabled bit has to be verified. Its winding me up because I don’t know what I’m doing lol

If it is a joint claim then you are probably right. However, if separated he can claim career element.

Princess23 · 15/07/2024 19:05

Ye it’s joint hun thanks for getting back I thought so was just checking thanks again ❤️

They really need to start updating the waiting times it should now say minimum of 18-20 weeks not ‘up to’ as it gives people the impression it will be done before then. I’m 20/3 rang up Friday to see if additional information had been scanned then asked very nicely to check it would be put into my file before it reached a DM and apparently it would as it was in a holding queue to go to DM, it was much busier than this last year and we waited 22 weeks for a decision (different child) I’m not going to call again now until end of July - beginning of August if I’ve not had a decision by 19-20 weeks

The thing that cheeses me off is that I have proof of delivery two weeks before the scan date. So really their admin delays with opening their post means its 20 plus 2 weeks.

Mommy2boys30 · 15/07/2024 20:19

Anyone done a COC lately is it still about 13+ weeks

I get carers for my daughter and the carers element on uc she's 16 on pip
Iv asked if my husband can claim the carers element for our 2nd daughter if she's awarded dla and they said as long as he cares for her for 35hrs a week then he can
It's a joint claim and the carers gets taken out like for like from the uc

KB1994SD · 15/07/2024 22:43

do you guys think this is good evidence to state care needs from my childs preschool?

he is 3 years old (so a year behind but other reports state he is working at 18-24 months)
on the pathway for asd but paeds suspect adhd too.

i’ve sent every school report, health visitor 2 year review and waiting for paediatricians report.
im hoping for MRC

he also has absolutely no sense of danger which is stated in other reports too

After 21 long weeks iv had the surprise of seeing 2080 pounds pending in my account. Does anyone know what my son has been awarded ? I'm thinking potentially middle rate care low rate mobility ? What does everyone think. I'm so over joyed as was thinking the worst.
