Hey all, my little one was awarded DLA on the 7th of December. MRC and LRM which was backdated to the 31st of July. I updated my journal same day requesting disabled child element to be added and backdating was told they will investigate this. Heard nothing else so sent message in January to be told the same thing. I sent another message on 9th of February to be told its been sent to decision maker and as soon as they have an answer will update journal. Anyone else still waiting for element to be added as well as backdating???

How long have you been waiting? Mine was just over a month for a decision. Still waiting for them to update the statements so still waiting for that but I'm the same, everytime I send messages they don't reply. It's so frustrating

They said something similar to me about how it's already been assigned to a decision maker and they'll let me know the outcome then I got the decision back just over 2 weeks after they said that. So I think that means yours is waiting to be looked at and decided. From when I spoke to the man on the phone and he said he is sending it to a decision maker it was just over a month then I got the decision letter

my journal shows the disabled child element .. i reported it on the 13 june and on the 21 june they said that the element will be on further payments but no mention of the backdated money,

my pay date is 24the june so am able to check my journal today and it is showing on there.

its just the bloody backdated money thats taking long

x

Mellieg11 · 18/07/2024 19:51

elliejjtiny · 18/07/2024 21:02

I'm waiting too. Found out my ds3 gets mrc lrm dla about a month ago and it was backdated to 12th February. Still waiting for UC to add it to my claim. New statement expected in 24th July so I will chase it up again then if it's not on there.

Ive only been waiting for a few weeks but its on my next statement. She said the back pay will be paid when it has been verified what does that even mean? Xx

Yeah my sons disabled child element payment was on the last statement. I'm now waiting for the backpayment. When it's verified I think they mean when they check that the information about the DLA is correct then for backdating it goes to a decision maker, then wait for it to update on the past statements that they've agreed to backdate on then after that it gets paid. So yeah I'm just currently waiting for them to update the past statements and send the payment as it was verified already and the decision was approve for back pay ❤️ not sure why it all takes so long

Have they said they will send it to a decision maker or did you request that it was? If so then its probably just on the waiting list for the decision maker to approve it or not ❤️

I was told it would be verified then sent to a decision maker on 6th June and I got the letter saying it would be backdated on 12th July so just over a month xx

When you make the change the first step is them verifying the date DLA was issued, once that is done your backdate request goes to a decision maker then it’s a fun waiting game 🫣

I don’t get how I’ve been waiting over 2 months now and nothing is getting done! She’s told me it’s date order but I know several people who’ve had there’s, they need to put the staff who want money from us on the decision makers job, probably be done quicker 🤣

Yeah it's not in date order. It can't be!! My sister told them about it and 3 days later it was verified, decision maker approved it, statements were updated and payment was sent!!! 3 days! It was a while back though but she is in the same area as me so God knows how it works!

Yep I agree! It is like they are dragging it out. Also alot of people don't know about this disabled child element and that's why alot of people are getting back payments including myself so it's clearly not spoken about enough so it's like a secret in a way hahaha!

I didn't know for 3 years and that's why I'm doing the back payment 😂 xx

they said its been referred to a decision maker that was on the 21st June. so nearly a month. it took a week or so to even get a reply from them its crazy.

Yeah it's taken months before for them to get back to me in the past. Now if it takes too long I put in a complaint so I get an answer but about this I think they'll just say "just wait" so I haven't put in a compliant just hoping it updates on my statements soon

Mellieg11 · 19/07/2024 19:17

its so bad , they know now that our little ones need this extra money to help them. but they long it out again after the massive wait to get the dla in the first place. mad system. hope you all hear soon x

N221216 · 22/07/2024 14:55

So I ended up doing a complaint on Friday as no one was answering my messages and said that they'd made the decision but I haven't heard anything since. She said it didn't need to be complaint and if no one is answering you can always phone them up.
She said that when the decision maker makes the decision they don't let them know so you can phone them up, let them know whats going on and ask if someone can do the handover.

Anyway my sons payment has been paid out now
