Universal credit and disabled child element backdating

Hey all, my little one was awarded DLA on the 7th of December. MRC and LRM which was backdated to the 31st of July. I updated my journal same day requesting disabled child element to be added and backdating was told they will investigate this. Heard nothing else so sent message in January to be told the same thing. I sent another message on 9th of February to be told its been sent to decision maker and as soon as they have an answer will update journal. Anyone else still waiting for element to be added as well as backdating???

I am waiting 7wk today, if there's no decision in 1 more week I will write again in my journal 😮‍💨

A decision for what though? If you get DLA them you’re 100% entitled surely?

so you just call and say i want to make a complaint then they have to push it? normally when i call they just don’t want to know and tell me to write in the journal?

I had to fill out the complaints form online but basically yeah. I had to keep leaving messages and calling and the sorted the disabled child element. I've just now after another round of calls messages and quoting legislation and outright asking are you taking the carers element off my overpayment or not they've answered today saying that a decision has been made a few weeks back on carers element and they'll try to get payment to me next week. If it's been decided a few weeks why they've done all this I'll never know. Like we don't wait enough for consultants appointments dla decision they want to add weeks of stress aswell 🙄🙄

So we've had our change of circumstance accepted, absolutely nothing on when we'll get the payment through though

I just recived a letter in my journal, they accepted change and under special circumstances it will be updated from October.
Now I think I need to wait for another letter with how much will be backdated

Ive just recieved 2 letters from the DM to say theyve agreed under special circumstances to back pay disabled child element and carers element. What happens next? Do they update the statements straightaway? Or sbould i reciece another later sayin how much im owed.

that wasn’t very long then.

I made mistake .. it was 18.07 so almost 2 months 😅

So on the 2nd of September I put a message in my journal asking for my claim to be backdated and the disability element added.
I looked today and no response so I sent a message asking for someone to contact me regarding back pay
Got a response saying can I explain why I'm asking for back pay.. I said DLA took 20 weeks etc but said I did do this on the 2nd.
Reply was I will send to the decision maker but can't say how long.
I then said I told you about the change on the 2nd so why is someone just responding now and only sending to decision maker today, the reply..... We didn't see your message 😂 you couldn't make it up!
So I'm probably gonna have to wait until Xmas to see any sort of back pay gathering from others that have been waiting up to 2/3 months.
It's like applying for DLA all over again 🙄🫣

I asked for the backdated payment on 29.5.24, On 5.9.24 got the letter saying it had been agreed....still no payment made though!

I got sent 2 letters on thursday after 5 weeks of waiting after being sent to a DM. Theyve agreed under special circumstances to backpay. But not sent anything else about how much is owed or when to expect a payment. Ive replied on the thursday and wrote a msge today asking for a further update and as of yet heard nothing. So annoying.

Just got my backdated carer's element in my bank today...it took 5 weeks from me asking. Weirdly there's been no messages or letter about it in my journal since I was told it was with the decision maker, but the payment can't be anything else. Good luck to everyone else still waiting

I still haven't received my backdated payment for disabled child element and carer's element. I've been waiting since March 😩 but UC statement for disabled child element and carer's element was updated in August but no backdated payment from March

Anyone got any advice because I'm at the end of my tether. My backpay for carers elememt was supposed to be done last week (case managers said) she also said if she didn't have time to do Wednesday she'd do Monday, I messaged Monday and she still hadn't done it, over a week later I've still not got it. Backpay was authorised a few weeks ago, got disabled child element no problem

got the letters yesterday saying that both cater and disabled element will be backdated.

Can you not ring up and make an official complaint? Ive read somewhere on here you can ring or do it online i think.
I got the letters last thursday about agreeing to backpay under special circumstances but heard nothing since. Been ignored since last thursday on my journal. Ended up ringing yday and was told a case manager will be intouch by 6pm today. Heard nothing as of yet.
