How is everyone?

This week has been hectic, I feel like I am going to meet myself coming back IYSWIM, Grin

But ds had first visit to 'big school' left there for 45 mins with portage teacher. and did brill!

Also music sessions are going really well.

and my best friend is moving 2 mins walk away from me, (rather than 25 mins drive, hurrah!!!! )

I am on the Wine althou it is white not red.

and I have decided to loose a stone by the time ds goes to school. (yeah I know thats a really wimpy target, but there are a lot of stones to loose Blush and I want something that feels do-able and not another burden.)

I think i'm just wiser to the lies that parents tell - being a parent myself now.
I try not to tell any, but sometimes, when you stick to the truth to answer a question, it just means that they ask more and more awkward to explain questions.

Triggles · 13/05/2011 21:35

lol EllenJane - the rear garden, I suppose, but where would we put the barbeque then? Hmm

lies? you mean like tonight when I told DS2 that I had to get a part to fix his toy story toy so it would take a couple days, but I just couldn't bear to deal with it tonight as it's super fiddly? Blush shame on me......

smugtandemfeeder · 13/05/2011 21:37

We have just got a puppy. Why did we get a puppy?!! Its a very small one. DS is over enthusiastic with it but its great fun. It has a cage to sleep in to keep it safe which is essential. Means I cant go to bed at 7pm any more though which I was getting rather used to due to DSs total lack of sleep. It also means I have zero chance of getting up any later than 5 am now as there is no chance what so ever of the puppy, DS and the baby all sleeping later than 5am.......

Dont do it.......

DS is very good most of the time and plays nicely. its just unpredicible and we have had to put in place lots of safety measures.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 13/05/2011 21:39

DS2 reinacted Buzz's 'flight' down the stairs with his Buzz Lightyear Action Figure, and his leg fell off. (Buzz's not DS2's) I tried gluing it back on but it was never the same.

nenevomito · 13/05/2011 21:43

Puppy is definitely out as we'd have to leave it alone for long stretches during the day and I've already got a child who chews the furniture, so don't need something else.

Refreshments.

Yeah, Ellen, you can make that sound dodgy: Ahem Would you like to sate yourself with my lady refreshments?

...oooor maybe not.

BTW not kidding about DD. What the vac didn't get, winnie the poo fluffy jumper did.

auntevil · 13/05/2011 21:43

Triggles - yes, those are the kind of 'lies' that i mean. if you were to tell the truth, do you think that your DS would understand? probably not, and you would need to be prepared for the consequences if you did. 'Lies' is too strong a word - any suggestions? tantrum tamers?

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 13/05/2011 21:44

auntevil, if the venue falls thought for summer p&s is it all round to yours then Grin

we have a cat, that's gone down quite well but dd3 only likes her when she doesn't move Hmm

nenevomito · 13/05/2011 21:44

Lies: "Reality Adjustments".

auntevil · 13/05/2011 21:46

Ninja - when we were told about possible venue problems, i thought that the person who originally called me auntevil was going to suggest my house. I made a sharp exit. Grin

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 13/05/2011 21:49

haha, I will contact her and we will suggest it to P then Grin Any tribunal news yet?

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 13/05/2011 21:49

Can we all come to the summer p&s? (What is the summer p&s?)

Triggles · 13/05/2011 21:51

pmsl oh god yes - I like that - "reality adjustments" !!! brilliant!

we figured the safety gates would mean the puppy could have a bed in our sparsely furnished dining room with the safety gate on it at night. and DS2 wakes up at 5am anyway....

lol at refreshments! Grin

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 13/05/2011 21:51

Hmm, pet for junior babyheave? Chipmunk, beaver, woodpecker?

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 13/05/2011 21:52

of course ellen, it's the summer sn group for children and parents, usually runs a couple of days a week but we lost the venue to the play scheme this year so the organisers are trying to find some where else to run it it's a lifesaver

auntevil · 13/05/2011 21:54

Friends tribunal is a week away. Will need to send round suitable 'refreshments' to celebrate/console as appropriate.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 13/05/2011 21:54

Where, where?

auntevil · 13/05/2011 21:55

Not just a life saver - it's a sanity provider.

creatovator · 13/05/2011 21:57

Hi everyone, I've just switched on my computer. Can I join in?

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 13/05/2011 21:58

that's the problem ellen, we don't know yet

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 13/05/2011 21:59

will keep everything crossed aunt xxxxxx

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 13/05/2011 21:59

Everyone welcome, but some have given up and gone to bed. How's your week been, creatovator?

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 13/05/2011 22:00

Okay, I meant whereabouts? Not Gloucestershire way, by any chance?

creatovator · 13/05/2011 22:03

Ellen -week has been really good, though busy. Can't remember the start now cos so busy. Have managed to sort through some paperwork.... DCs get too much home from school. Have managed to cope with that unexpected stuff too. Ds (with AS) coped okay with thunder storm after initial panic the other day. Work's been good. Had good girly evening with daughter last night. DH took DS to Alton Towers for trip with school (very early morning start and very late night return!) meant I didn't have to so was okay for work tonight. Tired now, but life good. :)

auntevil · 13/05/2011 22:05

Sorry EllenJane - way off.
Evening creatovator - Brew Wine or your own choice of 'refreshment' winging its way through the virtual ether to you.
My time here tonight might just be coming to a close. I can hear stirrings from the bedrooms. Can't tell yet whether i will need to read the riot act, or offer water and puffers.

creatovator · 13/05/2011 22:07

Thanks aunt. Definitely wine. Hope they calm down quickly for you. Think mine are settled for the night.
