Drinks and snacks on the table ( non alchoholic and low carb stuff to the right)..

I have no children tonight.. I may doze on and off throughout the evening as last night was a long one with DS.

Had an interesting convo with school .. Ds is now not showing any signs of distress... And has been Cured... With a touch of maturity!
Damn.. I didn't know he just needed to grow up..
< shucks>
anyway i mentioned that his anxiety was coming out physically ( bad belly for weeks and sleep talking non stop... Which is keeping the house awake every night)... And guess what?! ... It's better it coming out that way than through hard work behaviour at school.!

I. Give. Up. !

I think the only creditable social life is nights out with friends and no children...

I want your hubby's job!

auntevil · 28/01/2011 17:48

On that score i had 1 film and an afternoon tea as social life last year. It was a b**y good afternoon tea though! Grin

starfishmummy · 28/01/2011 17:51

Dh will be late home tonight - retirement do at work. SAys he wont be too late and will be back to put DS to bed.

TV for me tonight. At least I wont have to watch the bl**dy simpsons repeats!

IndigoBell · 28/01/2011 18:03

Friends? Confused To go out with? But you guys aren't 'real'....

LollipopViolet · 28/01/2011 18:08

Will be back on properly later. Just popping in to say I HATE WHEN HAVING A DRIVING LICENCE IS MADE OUT TO BE THE BE ALL AND END ALL OF GETTING A JOB AND/OR LIFE!

Oh, and if you didn't see, I've agreed to do Race for Life in September, so need to get fit

bigcar · 28/01/2011 18:23

dameedna, sounds good, haven't been to the dungeons in aaagggggggggges, hope it warms up for you.

lollipop, have you started your training yet? I'm way too unfit for anything like that!

LollipopViolet · 28/01/2011 18:31

Not yet bigcar. My friend wants to walk it, and she's taller than me so I will probably have to jog to keep up. I need to do some training though.

You know how sometimes, your body assumes it's natural shape? Mine's trying.

It wants to be perfectly spherical.

Dameednabeverage · 28/01/2011 18:36

Lol @ Lolli

bigcar · 28/01/2011 18:39

haha, me too!

superfantastic · 28/01/2011 18:41

Evening all sorry im late! :) ...just in time for oiled up bouncers though. Grin

I will be on wine shortly and doritos. :)

This week was odd, not much sleep teething/anxiety tag team, random down day (all teary ..not like me), ongoing argument with DDs class in her home/school diary....apparently if the TA doing her 15 min SLT has to write something down to tell me what DD is learning they will reduce her SLT time to do so!!!! I personaly think they are not doing any SLT, they havent since Oct when she was assessed. GRRRRR. Angry

And dp did not get the job. :(

But who cares SPA DAY TOMORROW!!!!! Grin Grin Grin A whole day off, dp babysitting. Soooooo excited I may just pee my pants! :)

bullet234 · 28/01/2011 18:43

I have had a lovely morning spending 90 minutes cutting out material and 90 minutes copying information onto labels in a very quiet room completely on my own in my museum voluntary job.
The museum may not think it so lovely when they realise I'm not the best person to try and cut material in a vaguely straight line though.
Ds1 and Ds2 both at school and both had quite a good day today. Only time Ds1 got upset was when he bit his mouth and Ds2 has possibly been helping to make a puppet. I say "possibly" as the note says "we have been", whereas anything that he definitely does is written as "J has been".

AtYourCervix · 28/01/2011 18:45

DD2 jsut told me she got sent out of drama for refusig to lie down and relax.

DD doesn't do relaxing. Particularly not when surrounded by other people.

She said the teacher said 'DD either lie down or get out of my class' so she went out.
Another teacher onto my email hitlist then.....

LollipopViolet · 28/01/2011 18:47

I swear my dog knows I can't see well, therefore will try and trip me up!

I've just been into the bathroom, just as I was about to go through the door, he positions himself in front of me so I walk into him, push him a bit (feel bad about that :() and then has the cheek to give ME the filthy look!

He won't be doing that if I make him wear a bell so I can at least hear him coming! Grin

auntevil · 28/01/2011 18:49

LOL - a perfect sphere, good for a downhill race, not so sure if there's uphill to do Lollipop.

At least there's no windchill in a dungeon - it's a pretty biting wind down here at the moment Dame.

Just had to buy another pair of school shoes for DS1. He has managed 3 pairs since September. Partly kicking walls, partly kicking spherical objects (watch out lollipop Grin ) but mainly the general tripping and bumping that gangly dyspraxics tend to do. As his feet get bigger, the choice gets smaller when you have to take laces out of the equation. Slip ons slip off too much, so we're back to the king of kings - my hero - VELCRO [falls at feet emoticon]

LollipopViolet · 28/01/2011 18:49

Should point out, the walking into him pushed him, not me deliberately doing it! Blush just read that back and sounds bad!

auntevil · 28/01/2011 18:54

Sorry to hear about your Dp not getting the job Super.
Hope you find tomorrow supremely relaxing. Do not think of anyone but yourself and enjoyment.

mariamagdalena · 28/01/2011 18:55

fab, a floppy eared comedy dog at the friday night party. I'll have a bailey's and sneak him some crisps under the table.

superfantastic · 28/01/2011 19:06

Thanks Auntevil...will keep looking....and I intend to relax, then get a little drunk. ;)

We struggle with annoying teacher issues, they just is not enough training/knowledge/common sense, maybe we can start a campaign that resembles the 'TANGO' campaign...random running in suprising and running out...at least they may ask what it was all about! OOOh a flash mob??? In school! Grin

Back later, must get the DCS to bed. :)

OverflowingMum · 28/01/2011 19:19

Evening all...
Definitely positioning near the wine and full fat food - I have been good all week, and have just done a 4 mile run, so am treating myself tonight Grin

Seem to be on a good stretch with school too just now...(lots of letters, threats and meetings with LEA are paying off LOL) and DD has had her 3 1:1 sessions this week , and has a date for her Ed Pysch assessment which is next week (finally LOL)
Lets hope it continues!

As predicted however she couldnt cope with after school sports club on Tjurs after trip to local secondary school that same afternoon...godd thing I waited around at school pick up time to see how she was!

DD4 and DS2 in bed Grin
DD3 almost settled
DS1 being delivered to Scout camp by DH
and DD1 and 2 hovering around somewhere...

Pizza in the oven (how naughty is that!) and wine chilling...Grin

Now going to try and catch up with thread...

...hands wine to those having bad weeks (or diet coke for those that prefer)....

lisad123isasnuttyasaboxoffrogs · 28/01/2011 19:21

well im glad that weeks is over and finally feeling better, well phyiscally atleast :(

lisad123isasnuttyasaboxoffrogs · 28/01/2011 19:23

DD2 in bed, DD2 watching TV, DH at gym, cant wait for dd2 to go to bed so I can get some peace.

signandsmile · 28/01/2011 19:40

Hi and bye again guys, DH is sat with Sad face saying I haven't seen much of you, (guilt guilt)...

Ah well wine open, sherlock on the dvd and miniegg bag ready to go.... RL calls!

Marne · 28/01/2011 19:48

Both dd's are in bed (dd2 will be filling her bed with toys like she does every night, i will have to go and memove them once she is asleep). DH is home and reading his book whilst watching the soaps), i'm ment to be sorting out the tax return but can't be arssed Grin so i am on MN instead (dh thinks i'm doing tax return).

moosemama · 28/01/2011 20:08

Why am I always late for the Friday night thread. Harrumph! Was just trying to read and catch up but the threads growing faster than I can read.

Carrot, so sorry your ds is suffering. Ds1's anxiety presents with bad reflux, bad stomachs, insomnia and night terrors - so you both have my sympathy.

Thanks for the low-carb stuff, by the way - always nice when the host takes everyone's dietary needs into account.

Speaking of food Dh is now telling me that I have just burned my dinner. Sad So I'm going to have to go again now. Will hopefully be back later.

I dunno - supposed to be no carbs after 6.00, but with my life its low carbs after 8.00. Hmm

intothewest · 28/01/2011 20:13

Ha Ha Marne- I HATE tax returns

Lolli- your dog reminds me of one I had-He once 'fell in' teddington lock(and several canals...)he used to trip me up. Now my cat just does it in the morning

I am officially Envy of SUPER

tomorrow,I have work and then a 'soft play ' party with ds and a load of nt kids-I went shopping for a present and was a bit Confused- I mean ds likes washing up sponges....
