Drinks and snacks on the table ( non alchoholic and low carb stuff to the right)..

I have no children tonight.. I may doze on and off throughout the evening as last night was a long one with DS.

Had an interesting convo with school .. Ds is now not showing any signs of distress... And has been Cured... With a touch of maturity!
Damn.. I didn't know he just needed to grow up..
< shucks>
anyway i mentioned that his anxiety was coming out physically ( bad belly for weeks and sleep talking non stop... Which is keeping the house awake every night)... And guess what?! ... It's better it coming out that way than through hard work behaviour at school.!

I. Give. Up. !

Carrot, 34GG/H depending on range here, used to be 30GG before Bravissimo appeared - that was a proper pita. When I'm breastfeeding I go up to a K cup! Shock

I think I'm more unhappy with my weight at the moment because I can't exercise. I hate swimming - so that's out and even doing the short walk to school and back is so painful. I used to walk 4-5 miles a day and I really miss it.

I can't believe I broke my foot back in June 2010 and its still causing me such pain. I've gained two stone since then as well. Sad

Starting physio next week though, so am hopeful I'll soon be moving again.

As for the arms, I am old and unfit so, bingo wings agogo. Blush They're not as bad as some I've seen, but I'm rather less than proud of them and feel the need to keep them covered unless its ridiculously hot.

I used to be skinny years ago and have never aspired to it since. Dh has been with me through every single size and loves me no matter what, bless him. 'Nicely covered' - as my Mum puts it, is what I'm aiming for these days really.

My actual diet is pretty healthy vegetarian, but I crave comfort food after the dcs are in bed, which is of course the worst time to eat it and definitely eat far too much chocolate.

Haven't had any cravings since Tuesday though, so the low carb thing must be working. Also haven't been hungry at all, just tired and foggy and very bored of my food options. Am going to google for some recipes to try and spice things up a little.

Ha moose I'm a 32 F .. ( hugs kindred norkage person!) and thank the lord for bravissimo!

Surely going low carb as a vegetarian must be a nightmare... Love get that garlic, chilli, spices and anything else going! And make loads of soups ( they keep you fuller for longer).

Moosemama under a leather type corset/waistcoat i was thinking the prim and proper high collar blouse, or silky satiny type - add your own trims or distress as appropriate. Alternatively, you can build up from corsets with contrast fabrics in big chunky box pleats/flounces, and then add your own elasticated cap sleeves to hide bra straps.
This is turning into a craft fest. If you want any ideas/ suggestions closer to the date, pm me and i will help. Sewing is my bag.
Just remember that too skinny and GGs are a bit too 'jordan' - there has to be a balance. I also think that as you get older, too skinny actually makes you look older, particularly in the face. There's a balance to be had in there somewhere.
I'm off to spend the night with my piles - of ironing. No sign of of wine here, just diet caffeine to alleviate the boredom.

Thanks carrot, it is a nightmare and I wouldn't be doing it if I wasn't desperate. I don't 'do' diets, I prefer healthy eating and exercise and usually finds the weight just falls off, so this is really frustrating.

I'm hoping to be very strict for a couple of weeks, then gradually ease back into a normal healthy diet (minus the comfort food) as the physio sorts my foot out and I can increase my exercise.

AE, That's what I thought you meant. I was looking at cap sleeve, peasant blouses with corsets this evening, but still umming about the arm exposure. High collar prim blouse thing is a great idea though, I will away to ebay and have a gander.

I don't think there's any danger I'll ever be too skinny again - I've gone too far the other way in me old age. Grin

Thanks for all your advice - I love this place. SN advice/support AND fancy dress advice all under one roof - there's no other place like it! Grin

Moose, how about a 3/4 sleeved white gypsy top under an underbust corset? If the undershirt was made of very light linen or muslin type fabric, it wouldn't get you too hot; and you could bare your shoulders but not your upper arms if you were feeling particularly daring?

I couldn't handle leather - you need specialist equipment - but there's some nice faux suedes about. Rivet inserting devices are pretty cheap to...

Can you get a yoga or pilates or tai chi dvd to do at home to keep the activity level up? I'm sure you can rent them from the library if buying on is expensive. My best diet tips are: drink far too much water to make you feel full; and eat something oat based for breakfast. I love porridge or muesli with a massive handful of dried fruit, grab a quick snack at lunch time - weetabix if I'm at work - and a boiled egg or something in the evening. DP cooks yummy dinners when I'm not working, though, which doesn't realy help me much LOL

Hi purple, I've been mooching on ebay again tonight and fallen in love with a dress. Its quite corsety, but doesn't show too much bust, so - arms would still be on display, but I'll just have to keep my cape on.

Its too expensive, but dh says he will buy it for me for valentines day.

I want to wear it with red and black stripey tights, DMs and a red cape.

I've tried pilates and couldn't get into it. Which is odd, because I used to be massively into callanetics in the 80s. I know it works, both my boys and my Mum do it, but it just feels to slow and gentle.

I can't eat oats on the low carb diet, but normally love porridge. In fact we all have porridge and fruit every morning normally. Dried fruit is also out and so is weetabix - but I can eat the egg!

I normally eat porridge for breakfast, salad and some sort of protein for lunch and we have eat pasta with home made sauce, risotto, veg stew or soup etc all made fresh in the evenings - all of which are a bit heavy on the carbs.

I'll get there, just have to stick with it and be patient.

Off to bed now. Thanks for all your help. Smile

Oops, didn't link to the dress here it is.

I want to be a very dark, horror type little red riding hood and this dress really seems to fit my theme.

Night.

purplepidjin · 30/01/2011 08:56

Oooooooh, love the frock. And lovely DH buyiing it as a pressie!

Low carb works fantastically for my mum but just makes me feel shit, so I stick to healthy food and trying to up the exercise. Hard when battling the depression lethargy Sad but needs to be done.

Can you not get a callanetics video and take that up again? Ok so it's not exactly fashionable any more, but if it works it works!
