Hi there
I'm newly back to SW and just getting to grips with it again. After years of calorie counting, I sometimes struggle in my head with it but find it so much easier! Would you mind checking over my day? I think I'm on track!

B - boiled eggs and banana
L- couscous chicken salad with mixed beans salad dressing (5 syns)
D- salmon, roast veg and packet of veg rice (1 syn)

Snack- total yoghurt with blueberries and skinny syrup

2x alpen bars = hex. B
Milk for tea and coffee = hex a

Welcome *@waterlane*. Looks good tho you seem low on syns

After a Sunday off plan for Mother's Day I was trying to keep the syns low yesterday! I ate more carbs than normal and feel heavy today but I guess it's what you have over the course of the week that matters isn't it
Blondeshavemorefun · 16/03/2021 09:00

Very true. Think we will all be reining back after Sunday 😂

JingleAndTonic · 16/03/2021 09:02

Yes your day looks pretty good to me too @waterlane Smile

L - tomato soup with melba toasts (3?) and some cheese and onion filler (2)

T - spaghetti carbonara (HEA) with a schar GF ciabatta made into garlic bread (HEB)

S - apple and skinny whip bar (4.5)

wildthingsinthenight · 16/03/2021 13:42

Hi waterlane
Looks a good day of food

I am back on plan today!
B- yoghurt banana strawberries and grapes 1/3
L- 2 x bread HEXB, ravioli 3.5, cheese HEXA
D - chilli rice and veg

No speed with lunch as I am fed up of salad Grin

waterlane · 16/03/2021 14:05

Thanks guys. Do most of you use your syns every day? Do you have 1/3 speed with every meal?

troppibambini6 · 16/03/2021 14:29

Hiya, welcome waterlaneSmile

L-mushroom omelette
D- campfire stew leftovers with green veg

I try to have speed with most meals but only if it make sense. If I'm having something that I don't want speed with like spag Bol I will just pretend it's there so adjust my portion size.
No I don't have all my syns. Unless I'm falling off plan like I did this weekend and then I do!

wildthingsinthenight · 16/03/2021 14:35

I do have speed with most meals. Currently fed up with it thoughWink
I have 10 to 15 syns a day

JingleAndTonic · 16/03/2021 16:49

I'm a fusspot so tend to include the speedy things in meals, e.g. spag bol = tomatoes, onions, carrots, definitely a speedy meal Grin and try to have a lot of homemade soups with veg in, but otherwise no my plate isn't necessarily always 1/3 salad/veg

I try to stay around the 10 syns region through the week so I can have more treats at weekends Smile

waterlane · 16/03/2021 19:15

Today's menu:

B- oats with banana
L- chicken salad (5 syns for dressing)
S- ham and mushroom omelette with beans

Alpen light bar 3 syns

So another good day I think but only speed with lunch, probably would've been better to have salad with the omelette as well. I definitely like to save syns for the weekend!

wildthingsinthenight · 16/03/2021 23:34

Good day there waterlane
Maybe you could have had some speedy fruit on the side of your breakfast too?

waterlane · 16/03/2021 23:36

@wildthingsinthenight

Good day there waterlane Maybe you could have had some speedy fruit on the side of your breakfast too?
Yes I thought that, maybe blueberries and strawberries instead of the banana. Sounds silly but I know the little things all add up and help to get good losses!
JingleAndTonic · 17/03/2021 09:03

Your mushrooms count as speed so not completely without it for tea @waterlane! You've got me fancying an omelette now Grin

L - butternut squash, sweet potato and coconut milk soup (HEA for coconut milk) with a coronation chicken sandwich (HEB & 2 syns)

T - cheese and onion omelette (HEA) with beans and SW chips

S - apple, skinny whip (4.5) and quavers (4)

waterlane · 17/03/2021 09:10

Ah yes good point jingleandtonic! I had blueberries with my porridge today to try to be extra good. I'm a few pounds heavier this week, I reckon it's the weekend catching up with me so trying to be extra good to pull it back, really want to shift the rest of the baby weight now! Coronation chicken sandwich for 2 syns sounds amazing!

wildthingsinthenight · 17/03/2021 10:44

You've made me think about a cheese and onion omelette for lunch Jingle Yum

B - yoghurt, banana, strawberries, blueberries, apple
L - cheese and onion omelette, beans, veggie sausages HEXA
D - salmon and pea risotto, veg

Snack - granola square. Syns unknown at the moment!

I maintained my weight this week after a week of going over my syns several times, so trying to be good this week

Yesterday
B 2 hifi bars (HEXB)
L chicken salad, fruit
D egg “muffins” with ham and pepper, cucumber, hummous (1.5)and babybel (HEXA)
S quavers (4.5) and 2 mini kinder bars (7)

Today
No breakfast
L chicken and feta (HEXA) salad
D sea bass, rice, broccoli and baby sweetcorn (2 syns for a tsp of oil)
S quavers (4.5) 2 mini kinder bars (7)

wildthingsinthenight · 17/03/2021 21:15

I did the same MadeOfStarStuff

troppibambini6 · 17/03/2021 21:36

Must be the week for maintaining, me too!

L- bacon asparagus spinach and poached egg
D-chicken curry, lentil Dahl and rice
S and v rice cake (2.5)

It took me ages to get the speed thing. I used to add it as extra rather than replacing some other food with it. I just used to end up with massive plates of food! Grin

wildthingsinthenight · 18/03/2021 08:04

troppi Grin Me too. I finally figured it out that it has to be on the side and take the place of some of the main bit of the meal. Not just to add more veg into my mountain of spag bol or whatever!

B - biscoff spread on toast HEXA 3, apple, banana
L - leftover pasta from dinner, big salad
D - Not sure yet!

waterlane · 18/03/2021 09:01

Finding my weakness is snacks after dinner. If I don't use hex b for breakfast, I can have two bars otherwise I have to syn them. Did have fat free yoghurt first but still craved something sweet, thinking it's probably more a bad habit than anything else!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/03/2021 12:01

Well done all the sts :)

The sw korma was actually bloody lovely - had with Aldi free rice

Will def buy again

B toast b cheese spread 1/4 a marmite fruit

L Aldi balls 1 pasta tom abs veg sauce cheese a

T lamb kofte 3 jacket veg
