Well done Groovster, 6lb is epic!

Back from my evening out. It's so hard drinking Diet Coke while everyone else is drinking fabulous cocktails.

Place marking.
I'll be back.

Chatelherault · 19/01/2017 23:18

I lost five pounds, so I am very pleased indeed.

emwithme · 19/01/2017 23:59

Well done losers!

Emily I'm glad to see you back! I'm thinking of doing the consultant-thing, but I need to finish my college course first (hopefully July) as right now all my spare time is taken up with that.

Well, the wagon circled past this morning and I picked myself up and got back on it. Managed to maintain this week (fuck knows how that happened) so am still sitting precisely at target, which is a lovely place to be. Have meal planned for next week and written DH a shopping list for his day off tomorrow not that he knows it yet

Groovee · 20/01/2017 07:00

Well don Chatel

FaithAgain · 20/01/2017 07:45

Great stuff em. It's tough to get motivated again so good on you.

Excellency start chatel! Grin

BasinHaircut · 20/01/2017 07:50

Wow some more great losses yesterday!

And em bet you were well chuffed with that.

Another day at home today because DS is too poorly to send to nursery so need to make sure I stay on plan! Luckily as its the day before the big shop there isn't much food here and almost zero snacks (which might be an issue unless DS feels to poorly to eat).

Have last night's leftovers for lunch, which was yummy so looking forward to that. Going to have weetabix for breakfast I think.

alibongo5 · 20/01/2017 08:45

Well done to you all! Still on plan here so am hoping I can keep it up over the weekend! I really need to see a better loss as I seem to have been going forever and while I'm happyish with my 11lb (I think) loss, am soooo jealous of you lot! (There I've said it!)

Breakfast - berries, yoghurt and muesli
Lunch - cauliflower rice (leftover from last night), salad, smoked salmon and a dressing I made with fromage frais mustard and Worcester sauce. It is ridiculous how much I'm looking forward to a salad with a dressing as I have been having it plain since I started SW!

Groovee · 20/01/2017 08:53

I bought the SKY R natural fat free yoghurt. It's too thick for me but will use it to do baked oats.

Got one child at the orthodontist then 2 hours later the other child at consultant orthodontics department. Have planned naked noodles and if I get time a salad or else will grab fruit.

LavenderRains · 20/01/2017 10:48

Some excellent lossesStar
I'm trying an sp day today. Not done many at all.
So far I've had
Chicken tomato and cheese omelette
A nectarine and a satsuma
planning chicken, b squash and carrot stew for teaConfused
And probably a ham and salad sarny for lunch.

BasinHaircut · 20/01/2017 11:55

Who was talking about MFP the other day?

Just stuck yesterday's food in to see what was what and it came in at just under 1200 calories for the day Shock

Seriously, eating non slimming world friendly could have seen me consume that at breakfast - 2 pastries and a latte.

I was worried that I was eating too much this week but based on yesterday's intake it appears not.

ALemonyPea · 20/01/2017 12:46

Welcome back onto the wagon Em, and well done on the maintain.

Well done to the losers.

Feeling so hungry today, not sure why. Might be because I had my tea at 4 yesterday and didn't eat again til 10 this morning. Not good.

Food today looks like this:

B: 2 hifi bars, pear, orange
D: chicken salad
T: pork chops, jacket potato with cheese, curried beans, side salad

Syns for salad dressingsressing, Tesco bites and probably mikado

Anyone tried the jars of deli toppers? They're lovely and tasty and great in salads.

Basin I track with MFP and have done since May...at which point my losses really sped up. I was eating the right stuff, but obviously far too much of it. I still follow the SW rules but aimed to hit the calorie target from MFP for losing 1 lb per week (but without beating myself up if I went over but wasn't over syns). I'm now using it to help me maintain.

BasinHaircut · 20/01/2017 13:15

em did you find you were losing 1lb a week when doing that? 1lb per week has me at 1600kcals per day.

It's mad because the sort of stuff I was eating a few weeks ago could have taken me to probably double that on some days, and I'd say 100% of days we'll over that. No wonder I was gaining weight!

Good idea about using it to maintain too.

Think it's going to be a long afternoon of trying not to snack today.......

laurieloo30 · 20/01/2017 18:39

I'm really worried I have messed up with tea!

I slow cooked a gamin joint and sliced a couple of slices off and removed all fat. Had it with 4 rings of pineapple and some homemade potato and sweet potato wedges.
It's not enough veg is it?!
I haven't had my hex b yet so was going to have it as some toast later when I'm feeling peckish but would it be better to not have anything to counter balance the bad dinner?!
Help! Thank you!

alibongo5 · 20/01/2017 19:05

laurie I'd just eat some fresh fruit now and still have the Hexb but I'm no expert. Was the pineapple tinned? In juice or syrup? In juice is 2 1/2 syns per 100g and in syrup is 3 so don't forget to syn that too. Though 100g sounds like quite a lot so it doesn't seem to me like much damage done!

Buttwing · 20/01/2017 19:07

Laurie it's not a bad dinner!! And don't punish yourself by not having a heb. Just make sure you don't do it all the time. Sometimes I don't have as much speed as recommended in a meal eg spag Bol but I just try not to do it too often. Were the pineapple rings fresh or tinned? The tinned have a few syns I think.

Buttwing · 20/01/2017 19:10

No don't eat extra fruit that's not a good idea (sorry Ali!)

The point of having a third of your plate speed is to stop you overeating on the rest of the meal. Don't start adding food at the end of the meal that will not help your weight loss the speed is supposed to be part of the meal not an added extra. Or if you are hungry in between meals and you need a snack reach for the speed.

laurieloo30 · 20/01/2017 19:11

Thank you for your replies!

It was tinned but in its own juice not syrup. Oh no I thought it was free?! Didn't realise there were syns?! Thank you for letting me know!

I have had lots of speed with breakfast and lunch just didn't really know what else to have with dinner.

Thank you for your advice. I'll make sure I'm more mindful tomorrow!!x

BulaBaby · 20/01/2017 19:43

Good evening all. I just had a free yogurt before going to work as I met a friend at a local cafe afterwards. I had baked beans, 2 bacon, and 2 eggs. Just need to syn the oil the bacon and eggs were cooked in. Just had fruit the rest of the day until dinner when I had jacket potato wth beans and tuna mayo, just need to syn the mayo.

Only have 6 weeks until a friend's wedding and another 4 weeks after that until my sister in laws wedding. Would really lived to lose another stone before then so the dress I bought last year looks as good in me as it did when I bought it.

BasinHaircut · 20/01/2017 20:37

Evening all!

Just settling down to 4 squares of dark chocolate to finish off my syns. Managed not to fall off track today even though I was unexpectedly at home.

B - weetabix and milk (HEXA&B)
Sn - banana
L - leftover Mongolian beef, rice and broccoli (4 syns)
Sn - muller bliss (4 syns)
D - salmon, green beans and uncle bens Risotto rice (2 syns)
Treat - 4squares dark chocolate (4syns)

Groovester · 20/01/2017 21:02

Thanks again for everyone's good wishes. I'm still grinning. A few different people at work today commented on my weight loss so that felt good.

I skipped breakfast today.
L - leftover Indian style rice with mushrooms, onions and peppers.
D - lentil soup.

Hex b - wholemeal bread.
Snacks - grapes, melon and fresh pineapple.

Had some upsetting news tonight so I've just eaten a hifi bar and 2 chocolate covered jumbo snackajacks. I fear I may not be finished yet.....

Well done on all of the losses.

BasinHaircut · 20/01/2017 21:06

Flowers groovester, hope you are ok.

Frouby · 20/01/2017 21:24

Hope you are ok Groove.

The book says eat 1/3 speed where appropriate. So sometimes I have free food but no speed with it because it's not appropriate. So beans on HeB for instance. I make sure I have plenty of speed for the rest of the day. But sometimes the amount of speed doesn't affect the amount I will eat ie beans on toast. Or if I have hifi for a b choice. I usually save them for night times so wouldn't eat anything else afterwards. And a portion of fruit for instance would only increase the calories for that day.

But if I have beans on toast for lunch and want something else before my tea I reach for fruit or speed before free food.

Food optimising isn't a magic formula to lose weight. It's about satisfying your appetite with low calorie, appetite satisfying foods. So as long as 1/3 of what you eat each day is speed and the rest low.sugar low fat you should be ok.
