Glad you liked it wine

Emily!!!! It's great to "see you" back I'm really pleased your group is going well.
Well it's day four of no sugar and I had a peek on the scales and I've lost 3lbs!!!
I've got parents evening for dd1 tonight and we are going to go out for food afterwards but I'm having steak and salad. There will be oil involved but I will not have any syns so should be ok.

BulaBaby · 19/01/2017 09:53

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. 5.5 offSmile

EmilyK83 · 19/01/2017 10:09

So good to see you're still going strong Butt!

Ahhhh Bula amazing, well done! x

alibongo5 · 19/01/2017 10:10

Bula - happy for you!

Was on track yesterday - no syns so I can go slightly over today if I need to (meeting friends down the pub, and not driving!)

Trying an SP day today so:
Breakfast: Spinach and poached eggs
Lunch: Chinese style turkey soup with shitload of fruit to follow (but I brought a banana which I've just remembered I shouldn't have on SP so will save for tomorrow
Dinner: Chicken and veg curry with cauliflower rice
Syns: Beer! (probably 2 pints = 18 syns)
Hex A and B: Cheese on toast when I come home from the pub and want to be bad!
Additional Hex B for SP day : cereal bar when I get home from work.

That sounds ok doesn't it?

BasinHaircut · 19/01/2017 10:42

Sounds great ali although I'm not really familiar with SP days yet.

Some great losses there today so far!

Emily they sound like cracking ideas and a really good way of mixing it all in together. Wish I was in your group!

I'm working from home today so know the temptation to snack will be there. Found some English muffins in the freezer and thought mmmmmmm, but then looked them up and they are 7.5 syns each! So left them there. Might even bin them tbh. Had porridge instead polishes halo.

Had a feta and cous cous salad planned for lunch but know that won't suffice at home (would be fine at work) so went and got a pasta and sauce from the shop so will have that with feta and salad instead and that should stop me from snacking this afternoon.

Trying a 2 chubby Cubs recipe (Mongolian beef) for dinner and will post a pic later. It looks yummy on the website.

EmilyK83 · 19/01/2017 10:45

Looks perfect alibongo!

Awww Basin if you're ever in Bristol, come find me! Smile

alibongo5 · 19/01/2017 10:55

basin - I'm not really confident with SP but I think it's basically no free food, all Speed and Protein plus your normal HexA, 2 HexBs and normal syns. So basically no carbs or yoghurt.

And I love Chubby Cubs - their blogs are brilliant as well as their recipes (usually, I have had one meh one).

ALemonyPea · 19/01/2017 11:39

Well done losers, and welcome to the newbies.

Good to see you Emily. So pleased that you're a consultant, you were fab on here, and well done on your 5.5 award.

Been to the gym this morning. Quite enjoyed it (must be crazy).

Going out tonight, luckily not for something to eat, I'm driving so can't drink.

Groovee · 19/01/2017 12:31

I've screen shotted the Mongolian beef recipe. It looks great.

BasinHaircut · 19/01/2017 12:57

Ill let you know what it tastes like later groovee!

Groovee · 19/01/2017 13:19

Our local Chinese used to do Mongolian lamb. I'm not a fan of lamb but I liked the Mongolian one.

Got some sugar snap peas and have eaten them raw. Forgot how good they are.

Making pork chow mein today. Marinated the pork earlier. The veg is ready. Thinking about making baked oats as a carrot cake on.

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 19/01/2017 13:27

Checking in, maintain for me this week but can't complain as I have been slacking Blush. Hoping for a better week this week.

OwlinaTree · 19/01/2017 14:27

Glad you are enjoying being a leader Emily. I'm considering giving up staying for group. Just seems to be about what you can get away with eating rather than good advice at the mo. There's been no mention of body magic for example.

We have food tasting week next week, can't decide whether to bother. On the one hand it will be quite sociable, and I might get some new ideas. On the other hand I'll have to cook something. Grin

I feel like I want to stay to group especially as there are a lot of new people at the mo, and I think it's nice for them if there are a few people there who've been doing it a while. However I don't know if I'm getting much out of it at the moment. I quite like chatting to people though, especially as I'm on maternity leave!

LavenderRains · 19/01/2017 15:45

I know what you mean owlina our group has never mentioned 'exercise' in any shape or form. Just people moaning what they can't eatGrin I rarely stay now but feel I need to go and be weighed by someone else I might cheat!!
I had only 3 syns yesterday.
Today I've has melon but then went to ikea and had meatballs and chipsBlush so not much else for me today.
Need 3.5 to hit 3 stone target so need to stay on plan.

Does anyone know how many syns ikea meatballs are? My app isn't working today for some reason.........

Groovee · 19/01/2017 15:48

Thanks groovee much appreciated

BasinHaircut · 19/01/2017 16:28

I read that as per 2 meatballs and almost fell off my chair!!!

harderandharder2breathe · 19/01/2017 16:30

B 2 alpen light bars
L subway salad bowl with double meat (ham, turkey, lettuce, cucumber, onion, pepper and sweetcorn)
D 5% fat beef mince, onions and carrots with butternut squash chips and gravy (about 2 or 3 syns from the gravy depending how much I have)
S hard boiled eggs, puft (3 1/2 syns)

SP day so might have toast later with my other HEXB or more alpen bars.

alibongo5 · 19/01/2017 16:43

Agree with lavender and owl about exercise - very rarely mentioned at group and when it is, it is usually to say that "exercise won't help weight loss, only tone you up". I just inwardly sigh.

Groovee · 19/01/2017 16:44

They have said "what can you do for body magic" at my class. My consultant stresses you do not have to join a gym. That walking can help,

FaithAgain · 19/01/2017 16:53

I firmly believe in the 80/20 rule for diet and exercise - 80% diet, 20% exercise. I've exercised without a healthy diet and lost weight (trained for a half marathon!) but when I stopped training I lost more weight. In retrospect I think I lost muscle Confused I've dieted without exercise and it's hard to sustain. Now I'm doing SW (which rarely feels like a diet anyway) and I exercise at least twice a week. I have an active job which covers a fair bit of ground and I'm on my feet all day as well. That's definitely helping me to tone up as I lose weight. Our leader always says Body Magic boosts your weight loss by 2-3lb a month. I've done bronze and I'm working on the silver. It's definitely motivated me to do more exercise.

Groovee · 19/01/2017 17:29

Found this on pintrest. Pork Chow Mein with mushrooms, bamboo shoot, baby sweetcorn, broccoli, mange tout, sugar snap peas and carrot.

LavenderRains · 19/01/2017 17:45

That looks nice groovee might try that.
I had couscous yesterday and hated it!!
Did lovely roasted veg and chicken but didn't like the texture of the couscous at all.

I've not done any exercise but I'm on my feet for 13 hours at work. I do now use the stairs instead of lifts and I've found it increasingly easier since losing weight.

I guess the meatballs arnt that bad syn wise, but I did have chips tooBlush
currently snacking on lean ham and a lovely juicy nectarine

user1484578224 · 19/01/2017 17:59

how do people " work it"....save up syns/ have a few skinny days and more at the weekend/
I'm finding sad as it is, I can't get through 24hours without some treats.

buzibuzi · 19/01/2017 18:03

hello Ladies
I despise cous cous lavender i ate it daily with grilled chicken during year when my mum was doing phd and had no time to cook for us
then i discovered it not a grain but man made product so actually not that healthy as my mother told us

Good news for me i lost 1 lb this week
i know its not a lot but after maintaining last week im very pleased
also i drank lots of water today- all thanks to filling massive jug in the morning and leaving it on the counter, it really worked for me!

5 syns on 1/2 avocado as usual
