I'm on it 100%!

Have 3 stone to lose, aiming for 1lb a week so all going well I'll be there by September

Have lost 1 stone 8 so far but haven't been motivated recently but I'm completely in the right frame of mind now and I'm going to do it

I've ordered 2 new sw cook books (curry one & fakeaway) and bought the 12 week journal so I've got some new ideas to try

Just weighed my healthy extras which is something I haven't done in months.

Today's plan
A - milk in coffee/cereal
B- wholemeal bread

Breakfast - scrambled eggs on toast
Lunch - tuna jacket & salad (2 syns Mayo)
Dinner - porky light sausages (1), mash, veg, bisto (2)

  • auto correct!! You know what I mean I'm sure!
Beckyr86 · 10/01/2017 21:21

How's everyone got on today? I've had,
B: two eggs scrambled with quark and mushrooms, coffee (2syns for coffee mate)
L: leftover BBQ pulled pork and salad sandwich (2syns for coleslaw)
D: mushroom pasta made with quark and cheese.
I've also been snacking on fruit and I've had a packet of salt and vinegar squares.
I'm really hungry again now though so I might have to go to bed Sad

AnnabellsAunty · 10/01/2017 21:26

I think today was my best day so far...
B: porridge (heb) with blueberries
Snack: low fat yoghurt with raspberries
L: couscous with roasted veg (idea swiped from upthread - thanks!)
Snack: crackers (6 syns) with cheese(hea)
D: chicken breast with rice, tomato and spring onions
Treat: Freddo (5syns)

My first weigh in is tomorrow, am eager to find out if I've lost!

Beckyr86 · 10/01/2017 21:42

Good luck for your WI

Thingymaboob · 10/01/2017 22:23

Not as good a day as hoped. It's time of the month!
B: HE bread with quark and smoked salmon.
L: roasted veg cous cous with Feta (HE)
Melon
D: salmon fillet, salad and roast pots (fry light)
Syns:
Freddo 5
Rocky Rd 3
Tbs light mayo 2
1/2 tbs balsamic glaze 1 syn
Babybell light 2 syn
13 syns! Feel so guilty!!

TheresAlwaysTimeForTea · 11/01/2017 03:39

I've felt quite hungry this week. I've been having omelettes in the morning made with quote sausage, tomato and mushroom and a little sprinkling if cheese. I cut the omelette in half so it does two days. Been having the omelette with small slices toast as healthy extra.

Brought carrot sticks and mango to snack on in work. Lunch is typically a leftover of a SW meal. Yesterday I had homemade tomato soup which was tasty but not that filling. Dinner is usually something quick with quorn and veg.

I guess we need to power through the hunger a little! Scales moved down another pound this morning so it is working at least! Hope you're all getting on well!

Fatloser · 11/01/2017 20:42

Well. Done everyone staying on track. I am still managing to resist the mountains of chocolates and biscuits at work.

Still sticking to plan. Just eating a delicious spaghetti bolognese.
Done 13000 steps too 😄

IamnotaStepfordHousewife · 11/01/2017 22:13

12st 3lbs fuck! Heaviest I've been since being pregnant. Rejoined today and want to get back to 9st 7lb / 10st. Will do it this time as got so close a year or two ago. Good luck everyone. Just had that microwave fish which is syn free and microwave veg and rice as starving plus a low fat yoghurt.

Thingymaboob · 11/01/2017 22:22

Hi guys,
Hope you're ok. Got WI tomorrow, so we will see!
11 syns today!
Could murder a glass of wine.

Fatloser · 12/01/2017 06:47

Good luck with the weigh in Thingymabob! Going to have another good day today hopefully.

pineapplepizza1 · 12/01/2017 13:04

Hi all

I joined SW on Tuesday and just wondering if anyone knows how many syns beef biltong is? Not the pre packed stuff the one you get from the South African shop.

TheresAlwaysTimeForTea · 12/01/2017 13:25

Having an ok day, not great. I had beans on toast for breakfast (HE) Mango and banana and two slices of toast for lunch (6 syns) (I brought homemade soup but it tasted funny so I didn't eat it). I also had half a very very small slice of chocolate cake (someone's last day at work and it was too good not to have a bit) (reckon about 6 syns as was only a tiny bit)

We are going to a comedy night tonight so will need to try to pick a healthier dinner if poss. I'll try better tomorrow I guess! Weighing in on Monday.

Thingymaboob · 12/01/2017 17:59

Lost 3lb this week! Bloody marvellous

Fatloser · 12/01/2017 18:38

3lb well done!!! You must be really pleased. Is anyone else on here over 40? I find it so much harder to lose weight than I used to. Just wondering if anyone else is finding the same or if I'm going wrong somewhere.

Today i'be had two slices of wholemeal toast (small loaf) with a bit of jam, a pouch of rice and ham for lunch and am having a jacket potato with bolognese for tea. I've had 2 babybel lights as HE and have snacked on fruit. Will probably have a muller light too. Does that sound ok?

Thingymaboob · 12/01/2017 18:47

Sounds fine but have you measured the jam and worked out the syns?

Fatloser · 12/01/2017 18:51

Yeah maybe. I just reckoned that's the only syns I was having today so didn't bother. You're right though I should measure things like that. Just hope I get a better loss than last week's 1.5lb!

Thingymaboob · 12/01/2017 18:51

I would increase your speed foods fat loser. I have just eaten a whole twirl. It was delicious. I've decided that if I have a loss, I will eat and syn a choc bar as a treat.

Fatloser · 12/01/2017 19:41

Sounds like a plan to me Thingymabob, you deserve it! Will have to have a look back at my books at speed foods. Am counselling myself that if I lose it slowly it'll go back on slowly...please don't tell me that"s not how it works 😉

AnnabellsAunty · 12/01/2017 21:14

How's everyone doing?
I lost 3.5lbs this week!
Feel like I'm still figuring things out but delighted with that start.
We had Quorn sausages with homemade chips (I synned the oil for the chips, don't have fry light yet) and veg. Sausages were surprisingly tasty!

Beckyr86 · 12/01/2017 21:29

Congrats on your losses.
Fat loser I think you need to be eating more speed foods too, I have in my head that a third of everything you eat should include super free foods.
I'm not doing great today, I made a curry with a patakd jar, 22 syns for the whole jar but it was supposed to feed four, I ate half Blush so 11 syns, I've also eaten everything my son has handed me today, how many syns in someone elses crust?
I'm determined to do better tomorrow, I've got a holiday booked for the 24th so I'm hoping I'll be half a stone down by then

Thingymaboob · 12/01/2017 22:36

I have not prepared anything for tomorrow. So tired today with bad period pains. Might make a smoked salmon omelette in morning and have that for lunch. Hmmmmmmmm.

Fatloser · 13/01/2017 06:21

Ok, thanksThingymabob and Beckyr86. Any ideas for super free packed lunches? Just looked on the other slimming world thread for a nosey and they're all eating 10-15 syns a day (well maybe not all of them)!! I wouldn't have even managed to lose my measly 1.5lb if I'd done that!

Beckyr86 · 13/01/2017 08:53

I've tried slimming world before and was really disappointed with my losses, last time I was scarewscarewd roneat my syns and scared to eat too much! This time I've fully embraced it, I have at least 10 syns and I eat pretty much all day and I've had a sneaky WI today and I've lost half a stone in leas than two weeks.
Its important to use your syns and more important to eat your super free, for example....
Last time I would eat laughing cow on toast for breakfast, now I have some tomatoes on it too.
I try to have soup or salad for lunch, mostly soup in this weather, then I know lunch is packed with supwer free food and the more speed foods the better.
For dinner I cook whatever I feel like with lots of veggies but then I still add them to the plate as well so I know I'm getting plenty.
My consultant says even if you have a Miller you should have some fruit with it too, I don't understand how eating more things helps but I'm realising now it clearly does.
Hope I haven't waffled on too much, good luck

Beckyr86 · 13/01/2017 08:56

Oh dear I need to stop writing posts before I've finished my coffee, sorry it doesn't make much sense but for the record I don't have miller with fruit, I do however have muller light with fruit

Fatloser · 13/01/2017 17:40

Gosh how strange to have to technically eat more calories...I'm up for trying it though, thanks Beckyr86.
Thingymabob I have bought couscous and veg, never done couscous and don't generally roast veg. Please talk me through your couscous and roasted veg method. I've even bought an aubergine which i'I've never cooked before. Do all veg go in at the same time or do some take longer? How long do you roast for? Thanks x
