Some good loses ladies, well done. I have got another 1lb off tonight. I am not going to say "only 1lb", but I am just pleased that it is still moving in the right direction still. I am 0.5 off my next interim target and 2lb off my 4 stone. And people are beginning to notice!! Grin It's taken a long time and I was beginning to think that people would never notice, but the comments are beginning to flow now, which is making me feel good. I was thinking that I was either still looking huge, or that I had never looked huge to others. I can certainly feel a big difference. If I did a photo comparison I know it would look massively different, but I suppose people just see what is in front of them at the time.

Enough rambling from me. Bed time me thinks. Exam day tomorrow and I feel so very unprepared!!

Good news for me, lost 1.5lb! Couldn't believe it, but very pleased. 5lb off my next award. Could do it by the end of Jan if I had two really good weeks!

Well done PA I'm a stone (loss wise) behind you. I think 3 people at work have actually asked me if I've lost weight, out of 60+ people! And others sort of look at me as if they know something is different but they don't know whatGrin
my uniform is starting to hang off me now which is a great feeling as it was very tight before!
Good luck for your exam tomorrow.
How is your dad now?

Well done too owlina Star

Lavender I read an article that said that people don't actually click that you have lost weight for while, which was encouraging. For quite a long time I have had a lot of "You are looking very well" comments, which this article said were classic "pre-realisation" comments. Then suddenly it clicks that you are looking well BECAUSE you have lost a lot of weight. I was beginning to wonder if people still saw me as huge, or whether they had never actually thought saw me as any different than I am now, IYSWIM. I have now come to the conclusion that I am not doing it for anyone else, so if I feel better for it that is all that matters! One colleague did ask if I actually ate anything, or just starved myself! This is because we have a team breakfast every Monday morning, which consists of criossant, pain-au-chocolate, cheese twists and doughnuts!!! Not exactly SW friendly!! So I always have breakfast before work and don't eat anything during the meeting. I have taken fruit and yogurt occasionally. I can honestly say that I don't feel tempted to join in now at all.
Thanks for asking about dad. He is STILL waiting for his "emergency" operation - 3 weeks now. His toes are still attached - just. We have an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow and hope to have some answers and a plan for the way forward for him. I am taking him with my brother and we are both prepared to be "strong" (ie: have a strop) if dad is not dealt with properly. (I am an ex-nursing sister and brother is a solicitor, so a good combination to kick ass!!!)

Well, exam day is here and I have been awake half the night thinking about all the things I don't know!! Hmm

Last night after WI I went to our works "Christmas" meal. I had "proper" chips for the first time since June - I haven't missed anything. Much prefer the SW variety - so much tastier! the hot fudge cake was bloody lush though Back on it 100% today.

Good luck PA! And well done on the loss.

Weight loss wise, I found no-one but my family (who knew I was doing SW) noticed the first half stone, maybe 3 people commented after the first stone (one was a neighbour who saw me going out running). At 1 1/2 stone (which was about 10% for me and moved me into the 'overweight' category instead of 'obese'), several people have noticed! I'm getting lots of You look well type comments. I don't think that's just because of the weight loss though. I feel better in myself, less sluggish, more confident. Colour in my cheeks from exercising. Clothes fit better and I've bought new clothes too which is noticeable I think.

Can't believe you're still waiting for your dad's op PA. That truely is shit. Have you spoke to PALS at the hospital?

Buzi, how the hell did you spend £114 at Lidl? Did you buy the whole shop?

I don't like the SW curry sauce, tasted nothing like chip shopmcurry. Had a coconut taste to me.

I do like the SW onion gravy though. Have 5 pots in my freezer.

PA that's so awful for your dad but that hospital has been in the news a lot for being over stretched. I think you should kick ass and get some answers. Enough is enough! Good luckFlowers

That's not too bad lavender, 2 syns over will likely even itself out over the week anyway. Hopefully it killed the urge too!

Talking of evening out syns, how do you do them? My consultant says she gives herself 105 at the start of the week and subtracts as she goes through the week until they are gone. When I mentioned my love of takeaways she said that if I used 60-70 on 1 meal and then used the rest over the week that was ok, but I thought that wasn't right?

I'm not planning on doing that, if I am ever having a takeaway I think I'd just have it and draw a line under it but would be nice to be able to do a naughty dinner for maybe 20-25 each week and just keep to say 12 syns rest of the week. That's easily doable. Does that work for anyone?

summerblonde · 18/01/2017 09:12

Basin - I didn't realise your could do that. I tend to set myself 15 a day use what I need. I don't know if I have enough willpower to use lots at the beginning in the week for example and then ration the rest of them. 😊

Well done losers!

Has anyone seen a wagon? I fell off it SO HARD this weekend and I cannot find it again Grin Blush . I know precisely why I fell off but I just can't get my head back in the game. Oh well, will WI tomorrow, take the gain, and then hopefully get my mojo back. Just hope it's not so much of a gain to take me out of my target zone.

Positive you go kick ass for your dad!

Summer Before I got to target, I tended to go for around 20 - 25 syns on a Saturday/Sunday and 10 the rest of the week. It worked for me. If I wanted more than that on a specific meal (going out or similar) then I'd just have what I wanted and get back on plan the following day, and accept that the loss may be a little lower that week. I'd try to have more SP days that week though to balance it out.

Re quark: I use it in tuna pasta - mix with a little water and some mustard powder and then add to chopped veggies (peppers, celery, cucumber-with-the-seeds-removed, radish, onion, mushroom), tuna and pasta. I also tried adding a white chocolate options and using it to top fruit etc but I could literally eat the whole tub in one go that way without it even touching the sides so have stopped that!

BasinHaircut · 18/01/2017 09:38

I bet it's not too bad em.

That's a good idea though, more syns for the weekend and less through the week. I guess the answer is it will work for some people and not others. I just can't help but think that too many in one go (I.e. 70 as suggested by my consultant) is just so far outside of the spirit of the plan it doesn't make sense.

Hi all!
Would you mind if I joined you?
I lurked on some earlier threads when I first started SW months ago but gave up after about 3 weeks Blush However I'm back on plan and have my head completely 'in the zone' now!
I have roughly 3 stone to lose to get to my target. Started officially on Monday so will be WI on a monday morning.
I love reading the recipes on here and have buttwings chicken & chorizo stew in the slow cooker for tonight - can't wait to try it!
My downfall is wine though (hence the username!) and love a glass of wine in the evening .... however one glass becomes two etc and the syns soon add up! Any ideas for nice alcoholic drinks other than wine so I feel I'm still having a treat?

Report
summerblonde · 18/01/2017 10:33

em sounds like a good idea - weekends are when I want to indulge that bit more and am happy to restrict my syns more during the week x

Welcome wine, I can't help you with the alcohol but enjoy your butt casserole! Grin

I'm out for dinner tonight. Going to have a steak, no sauce, and Caramelised root veg. Steak will be free and I'll have about 12 syns leftover hopefully that will cover whatever the veg is cooked in!

Sparkling water for drinks.
