Hi all. I have had my first day back on plan after my gain so hopefully it's onwards and downwards Grin for me!

B: Sultana Bran (HEXB) milk (1/2 HEXA)
L: took leftover spag Bol to work, Apple, hifi bar
D: Chilli and rice topped with cheese (1/2 HEXA), mini roll

So ended on 9 syns which is where I'd like to be for the rest of the week. Also trying to drink loads of water. Feel much better for it.

emwithme · 01/09/2016 22:24

Hi all! Still no poo (I feel so bloated and actually am bursting out of my trousers) so more laxative inbound tonight in the hope that something happens in the morning.

Tonight DH and I went out for date night, so I had fish and chips and curry sauce and it was bloody delicious. We have discussed my weight loss (with a chip in my gob!) and he thinks that if, even with trying properly, I lose nothing over the next month, to call it a day and call target now, as my body is obviously telling me something. I am comfortably a size 14 and am happy ish with that, although I'd love to be another stone lighter. We shall see. We have also planned meals for the next week and I am reinvigorated to get back on plan tomorrow.

MargoReadbetter · 01/09/2016 22:59

Em - size 14 is good (I don't know where you started from) and if you can maintain that, great. You'll know if or when to start again. OTOH you feel reinvigorated so...

Holidays... TBH I wished things would come with separate sauces and dressings. I know that's what gives taste to lots of dishes but often they felt too thick and cloying. I'm too much of a wuss to make a fuss and ask for separate preparation.

MargoReadbetter · 01/09/2016 23:03

Lemony - two trouser sizes down must feel good. Well done!

Constipation: my favourite is fybogel (not "fun ogle" as my phone suggests). Senna too mild. Dulcolax too brutal.

MargoReadbetter · 01/09/2016 23:08

Chefwhoslims - I'll definitely have a look at your blog. I'm on the lookout for light lunches I can have at my desk, preferably using one hand only. Actually writing that down makes me realise how poor my eating habits are - I need to change this!!

A mini boast: I cooked about a dozen pain au chocolat, pain au raisin and croissants tonight for the kids and I didn't even taste a single one. They're from Waitrose and are frozen, need 18-20 minutes in the oven to be ready. I have no idea how many syn each and I don't want to know either. Living vicariously :)

iklboo · 01/09/2016 23:13

Lost 2lb last week. DH's best mate was up visiting on Saturday - he was our best man - so not on plan that day. Posh burgers, wine & vodka / diet lemonade. I've reduced my syns this week to as near to 5 a day to try & recover. I hope I still have a loss.

Plan next week:

Mon - spicy mince & rice
Tue - pork steaks, mustard mash & greens
Wed - minute steaks, SW chips, mushrooms, peas & onion gravy (about 2.5 syns)
Thu - salmon 'en croute' (use Kingsmill sandwich thins as 'pastry' - HEXB, roast baby news & loads of veg
Fri - SW curry & rice
Sat - salt & pepper chicken stir fry & noodles
Sun - gammon dinner

tabulahrasa · 02/09/2016 00:38

"At my meeting, we were discussing weight loss for people who have more to lose (like myself) and one of the elderly ladies, who reached their target after losing 1 stone 5, was horrified that anyone could let the self go like that and why anyone would do that to themself. Can't remember her words, but the were very scathing.mnot having a great week really."

Urgh, I can't be arsed with people who think weight is some sort of moral issue.

OrianaBanana · 02/09/2016 08:41

Morning all, I'm trying to get back on the wagon now after a period of pregnancy sod-it! Hopefully the weather will turn and I can start to use my slow cooker more (hate the heat...)

B - choc shreddies (HExB1), milk (HExA1), coffee, strawberries
S - apple
L - smoked salmon and prawn salad with ff dressing, plenty of speed, sugar free squash
S - free yoghurt, satsuma
D - grilled chicken with mash (rest of HExA1), asparagus and leeks. Fruit salad

May have a bit of cheese on toast in the evening to use up HExB2 and HExA2. Does that look OK? Out of practice! Blush

EmilyK83 · 02/09/2016 08:45

Hey Oriana, all looks good to me! Smile

Finished yesterday on 7 syns...determined not to let tonight's meal out scupper me!

So...today's plan...

B - raspberries and sweetened quark
L - Heinz tagine chickpeas (free) and veg
D - meal out with dad. Going to choose as well as I can, and stick to Diet Coke.

May have a skinny latte in town later as my HexA, not sure about HexB... And syns will be spent on the evening meal. Saved 15 syns over the last 3 days, so hoping it'll all be ok...

EmilyK83 · 02/09/2016 08:46

Actually, I've saved 20 syns...result!

emwithme · 02/09/2016 08:55

Looks good to me, Oriana

Excellent NSV Lemony but definitely talk to your consultant about that person at group. It's really not on. It doesn't matter whether a person has 7 lbs or 7 stone (or 20 stone) to lose, they should all be welcome at SW, without being judged.

In excellent news, I pooed this morning Grin and according to my scales, lost 3 lbs during it but I doubt much of that will show next week! But it is what it is and at least I am not feeling like a politician now full of shit
In less excellent news, I re-popped the rib having the fucking poo Angry but it seemed to go back into place straight away, so I've just taken ibuprofen in the hope that it'll all settle down in the next couple of hours. I could do without this.

Today's food:

B: Eggy muffins
L: Ham salad, apple, pear, satsuma
D: Haddock, new potatoes, veg
HEA: Milk
HEB: Cashew nuts

OrianaBanana · 02/09/2016 09:04

emwithme total sympathies with the poo trouble, pregnancy is not being kind to me in that respect. I'm hoping the boosted veg intake will help there, but I'm really trying to up the water too (as I've gone off tea and coffee I suspect in just not drinking enough fluid). Hope the rib's OK x

BasinHaircut · 02/09/2016 09:13

Morning all.

Good job on the 3lb poo em Grin

I'm a bit annoyed at Tesco this morning as I've literally had to chuck away about half of the fruit and veg I bought for this week, which means that I've nothing left for my lunch today as planned. Had to use today's salad for speed last night because the green beans had to be binned. Anyone use Tesco and noticed how shit the fresh stuff has been lately? Even the meat seems to only have a shelf life of about 6 bloody hours (slight exaggeration).

ALemonyPea · 02/09/2016 09:59

Woohoo on the poo Emily Grin

Oriana, mthere is a woman at my group who started when pregnant, and she had her baby las week.mshe got weighed yesterday and lost 23lb! Obviously that was mostly baby, but it's lighter than she was before she got pregnant.

chough · 02/09/2016 11:27

Hello, all.
Lemony, hope you won't take to heart what that lady said in group.
The meetings should be a safe , non-critical place for us, so I hope your Consultant intervened with a few wise words.
Emily, I will try those M&S teacakes.
maygirl, there might be something that you can have at the school lunch, as well as what you take yourself: some salad or fruit, maybe? Other people will probably be too busy scoffing their own food to notice what you're having, so no need to feel awkward.
em, the usual cure-all for constipation is scan bran.

maygirl · 02/09/2016 19:20

They ordered in dominos but I'd taken a tub of salad veg and sneakily ate that along with 1 small slice of veg pizza. Avoided the piles of cake at lunch and tea break. Not going to worry about the syns.
B baked zoats using half oatbran (this was not a good idea to eat after the load of scan bran yesterday and on first day of new job when get nervous tummy anyway! I think I must have dropped 3 pounds too!! Nearly had to turn car around go again at home! BlushPlus point felt slim in new work clothes lol!!
L as described
D baked sea bream with samphire and stirfry veg.
2 small wine 8 syns,

trinitybleu · 02/09/2016 19:39

MargoReadbetter · 02/09/2016 20:08

Quick hello from me, just spending some time on MN whilst waiting for all kids to get home so I can do the prawns & pal Choy stir fried noodles from the most recent SW magazine. I hope DH gets the urgent text that we need soy sauce.

I find MN excellent as a distraction tool for the evening when you feel like biscuits :)

PositiveAttitude · 02/09/2016 20:12

Bloody munchies!! I have been terrible all day today. First time in the 11 weeks since I started. Too many syns to count. I just want to go to bed and start again tomorrow, but too early and DH is working late, so I need to be restrained until he comes home. Only another 2 hours.

I am putting this down to stress over the past 48 hours. Our newest grandson was very poorly and we didn't think he was going to pull through, but today he seems to have improved a little. Plus DD2 (new mum) is waiting to hear if she has been accepted as a tenant in a new flat. I am stressed to the max, let alone how stressed she must feel!

I will start again tomorrow and hope that one terrible day wont have a huge catastrophic effect on WI day (Tuesday) I am 2lb off my 2 stone, but I am not so sure that will happen this week now. Sad

chough · 02/09/2016 20:15

Positive, those extra syns are completely okay when you've had such a worry.
As you say, you can just start again tomorrow.
Be kind to yourself.

Musicalpolarbear · 02/09/2016 20:45

Those tea cakes look yum! Will have to try them.

Totally sympathise with the constipation, pregnancy has messed me about too.

Very sorry to hear about the judgemental comments at group, it seems to me that it goes against the spirit of SW. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it's rather disrespectful to voice something like that in front of a room of people it seems designed to offend. I have a lot of weight to lose (pregnancy notwithstanding) and can testify to how easy it is to stack on weight without going bloody mad on chocolate and cake.

Well done on the losses, and on resisting temptation - really good work!

Coulddowithanap · 02/09/2016 20:51

I gained 1lb this week (I'm on my 3rd week and lost 1lb both previous weeks) not sure what I've done wrong

My typical day is like this:
B - porridge made with water (hxb) milk (hxa) is used throughout the day in tea and coffee.
L - usually some kind of salad with tuna, egg, ham or chicken.
D - something home cooked like spaghetti bol, curry , roast etc
Snacks - lots of fruit, frozen Muller light every evening, sometimes I'll have crisps of a curley wirly.

Hopefully I'll lose next weekend.

MollyRedskirts · 02/09/2016 21:30

Coulddowithanap, if hand on heart, you've been counting syns correctly and having at least 1/3 speed, it'll just be one of those things and should show next week.

Em, I am in awe of your poo! I've had similar difficulties this week and I weigh in tomorrow, so earlier I resorted to a sugar-free energy drink for the caffeine, followed by a mug of licorice tea. It did the trick.

I still don't think I'll lose tomorrow, but we'll see. I was looking at my weight tracker on the SW site and my losses have really slowed over the past six weeks. I know a lot of it is losing and gaining the same odd few pounds through not sticking to plan, but it made me realise I WANT this.

I want the week ahead to be my best yet. I'm actually considering trying SP.

ALemonyPea · 02/09/2016 21:44

Flowers Positive. Hope your Dd2 gets the flat.

I went out and bought those mini tea cakes today. They're lovely.
