There's no syns in free cake, right Grin

Today's food:

Brunch: Mushroom omelette, tomato
Lunch: Free cake
Dinner: Roast beef & trimmings.
HEA: Milk
Not sure about HEB yet. Possibly apricots.
It's going to be a zillionty syns today though, and back on the wagon tomorrow...

Positive that good news everything crossed for him.
Frouby oh no poor old girl.
Bibs if I'm really struggling I make naughty food slimming world style so things like curry, rice and chips, egg chips and beans or burger and chips with corn on the cob. I don't worry too much about the speed for the first couple of days just concentrate on getting on the straight and narrow again. When my heads back on it I start making sure I've got a third of my plate speed. It's not easy though!

I had an bad day yesterday took all the kids to TGI Fridays and I had burger and chips and a few spoons of ice cream. It was pretty much all I had all day though apart from two slices of peanut butter on toast!
Anyhow back on it today

B-coffee
L-not sure yet
D-roast chicken dinner.

Hello all

hope the little man is doing ok Positive. hugs for you and your family xxx

Had a bit of a shitty day today. waited in until 3pm for my new phone which should have been delivered by 10.30 am. After lots of phonecalls I finally established there had been a courier cock up and it won't be here until Monday.

poor ds was bouncing off the walls. He doesn't do staying in all day very well and dp was at work so we were a bit stuck.

Eventually got to the ponies. My poor old girl isn't very well. She has cushings which is a growth on her pituary gland which causes laminitis which is really painful feet. The dcs pampered her for an hour which cheered her up a bit but I won't put her through another winter after this one. She was my dds pony wheN she was a baby and I have owned her for 11 years. She is like a big dog bless her. Gives kisses out and loves cuddles. She rested her head on my shoulder today while the kids were brushing her and nosed the side of my neck. So sad to know she will be gone this time neXT year.

But anyway.

Today has been a good sw day due to the fact that I didn't get to do any shopping.

b. Coffee
L. Coffee and hifi
t. chicken in black bean sauce and boiled rice. Not sure how many syns is in it but I think about 6 maybe? Loads of speed in it too.

Thanks PA, yes, avocado is a LOT of syns, I discovered this after thinking I was being virtuous having guacamole with chilli instead of grated cheese, oh well.

Just got back from Greek meal (ate early with DCs). Lots of salad, falafel, yogurt, olives etc but couldn't resist a bit of pitta bread and hummus too.

So glad to hear he is breathing on his own (well with a mask) Positive, what a little fighter he must be. Hope he stays strong.

Exciting day in the Lemony household, we've preliminary been accepted for a mortgage, out first one ever, and we are thrilled! Lots of stuff to do now though.

So I didn't have breakfast as we had to drop kids off at my mams then head to town.

Lunch was a subway salad (who says I don't know how to celebrate) and DH has made a paella for tea.

Ninny I use scan bran/wheatbran quite a bit. I missed your earlier post and cant scroll too much on my phone, but my best chocolate cake scan bran cake is:
5 scan bran blitzed (or 60g wheatbran) HEb
3 eggs, separated
1 teaspoon baking powder (0.5 syns)
1 tablespoon sweetener (now 0.5 syns)
1 tablespoon cocoa powder (0.5 syns) dissolved in some boiling water
Yogurt or fromage frais (fat free)

Whisk egg whites to stiff peaks. Put everything else into another bowl and mix, then fold in the egg whites. Oven for 25 minutes (ish) 200degrees.

This cake does not have the "scan bran" taste that so many of them have and the baking powder certainly gives it a more "sponge" texture, which is better.

There is also a very good facebook page with loads of scan bran recipes, called very imaginatively "scan bran recipes". Well worth a look for some good ideas.

Thanks for all the well wishes about DGS. He is now breathing just with a mask since yesterday. He seems to be doing ok, but it is not really his breathing that has caused issues in the past - it will be when he gets an infection or he starts having seizures again that things could go very wrong. DD2 has had a lovely cuddle with him today. She is still feeling positive and we are not giving up on him!!

Whoknows Lots of veg, fruit and salad are speed, all are free I believe. (maybe not avocado)

I'm still struggling a bit without the books and only having the useless SW website. Are speed foods basically veg and salad?

Xmasfairy, I use Frylight for Actifry chips instead of the oil: they are just as nice, and that makes them syn-free.
Also like a little Nando's peri-peri seasoning sprinkled on them before cooking.
Your egg, chips and beans are not an absolutely perfect SW meal, because, as ninny says, ideally you should have a third of a plate of speed food ("where it makes sense").
But, they are all free foods, and if it's a favourite meal, have it and enjoy it: my Consultant says it's her favourite.

Thanks ninny. Will add some tomatoes as think that's all I've got in!

Report
ninnypoo · 15/10/2016 13:26

xmas 1/3 of your plate needs to be speed so tomatoes/mushrooms/salad etc. The 1/3 speed rule is to restrict portion sizes of the other foods. If you can't include speed in the meal then use a side plate rather than a dinner one for the same effect.

ninnypoo · 15/10/2016 13:24

positive I'm so sorry to hear that. Do whatever you can do to help you cope and don't let yourself feel guilty about it.

I think I'm coming down with something- felt horrible yesterday and just had to leave a gym class halfway through (first ever time) as felt sick and dizzy and just wanted to get into bed. Need to do a food shop and will try not to comfort eat.

Not sure if my earlier post got seen but still desperate for scan bran suggestions if anyone has some!

Hi!

Long time lurker but having finally decided that I need to reign in my eating habits I have chosen to return to the slimming world way of eating!

Haven't found a suitable class yet but is anyone able to tell me the suitability of eggs chips and beans for my lunch!?

Chips in the actifry (with oil), fried (fry light) eggs, and baked beans.

I'm so sorry to hear the news about DGS as well PA, thinking of you all.

I've been off plan a bit for a couple of days (went out for an Indian on Thursday nigh and ate poppadums and starter, but stuck to diet coke, chicken tikka and boiled rice for main so not too bad), then had a sandwich buffet lunch out yesterday, but I reweighed this morning and am still the same as on weigh-in day (Thurs). Eating out again tonight, Greek this time, so I will have to try and choose carefully. I feel much more in control generally though, I'm 5 weeks in and this is where it usually all goes wrong for me, so I need to watch out for temptation.

It really helps having this thread to read for motivation as I don't go to group, and the new SW magazine arrived yesterday so I will be reading that later.

Morning all

not sure what is happening with my weight this week. Wednesday on my home scales which are about 1.5lb heavier than sw scales I was 12.1.8. yesterday I was 12.0.2 This morning I am 11.13. bizarre but in a good way!

It is very nice to be 11 something though. On my scales 5 months ago I was 14.2. Am still in denial though. kept trying to type 12.13 on that last bit of post.

Todays plan will be slightly flexible as it's curry night.

b. Coffee
L. Probably jacket potato with beans at soft play
T. chicken sag, boiled rice and a popadom plus a couple of g and ts.
