Really going to struggle this week. It's the last week of the holidays and we are out and about for most of it. Plus it's my birthday. We went to a pancake and waffle house today. London tomorrow... can have salad for lunch there though. Meeting friends who want to treat me on weds... argh.

Sorry. Just needed to get that out. As you were Grin

Hello all

Not a brilliant day yesterday. Had a nice syn free speedy brunch but then had a fuck it moment and agreed to an Indian takeaway. Takeaways have been my downfall for the last couple of years but a line has been drawn under yesterday.

Today was always goin to be a risky day as have been showing the pony all day. However picnic was rubbish and dry by the time I got chance to have a rummage so had a bag of crisps all day. Tonight was always going to be hard as everyone is bloody knackered. But have shoved some jacket potatoes in. Will have a jacket spud, pasta and salad. Are the bachelor's pasta and sauce still free? Will check I think. If not will do some plain pasta with cottage cheese stirred through.

Lots of body magic today though too. Am fucking knackered! Feet are throbbing and I have been on them since 8am.

Hoping for a decent Wi as away next weekend to butlins. But also star week is approaching so might be scuppered. Aiming to stay on plan until thursday and back on it tuesday.

Should be easier from Tuesday as they are all at school and dp is working afters so no man food to prepare!

maygirl · 29/08/2016 17:13

Shattered after amazing weekend away!! Fri night was able to choose mussels instead of battered fish, less syns and enjoyed it more. Rest of weekend was v synful, afternoon tea and champers.
Back on it today
Brunch heB wrap, heA cheese, Heinz Mexican beanz 0.5 syn, spinach.
Out for afternoon with DCs, snacked on tomatoes, ham, satsuma
D will be chicken breast, butternut chips, veg, maybe some syns on a homemade sauce for the chicken, as been away not sure what we've got in and what DHs used up. Sure he didn't use up much veg though!

maygirl · 29/08/2016 17:16

Hope feeling better Lemony

Evening all!!

Todays beautiful day has been wasted travelling about, such a shame. Ok food wise though.

Like iNeed I have a difficult week of eating out this week - daughters birthday party tomorrow, her shopping trip and lunch Weds, night out inc meal Friday.

I nearly didn't join because of it - but then I realised there would probably always be something, because that's life. I've done so many crash diets, I want to just reset, into making the right choices.

So anyway, today's food:

B - weetabix (HEB) and Skyr Honey (1syn)
L- while travelling, I had a pack of the Bernard Matthews bbq turkey, some veg sticks. Fruit.
D - now this was LUSH - chilli and garlic chicken pasta, with a hidden veg sauce(so my kids would eat it) tomato, spinach, carrots, pasatta. Yum yum yum. And there was enough for leftovers.

I'm a teacher so going back to work on Thurs. I'm hoping to make most of my teas with leftovers to have the next day for lunch, so I don't get drawn back into having the god damn awful school meals because I forgot to bring anything. I'm also planning on leaving my purse at home so I can't stop off at the co-op on the way home, regardless of how bad a day I've had. Grin

ALemonyPea · 29/08/2016 21:03

Evening everyone, mjust back from a very busy day. Hope everyone has had a good bank holiday.

Got up this morning and went straight to a park with the DC until 3. Managed to grab a hifi bar and banana on my way out.mhad lots of water while I was there and also had a couple of DH's chips.

Then went out for half 5 with DH to a Brazilian barbecue. Had one glass of rose (7 syns) and going to count 8 syns for oils on any of the meats and potatoes. Not bothered if I am slightly out as have saved my syns all week for this.

Wi tomorrow for me, hoping that my eating out tonight doesn't show as a gain. I had a sneaky WI and have lost between 4-6 lbs(my scales can be either spot on or up to 2lb out) so hoping I'll have a loss.

Chewbecca · 29/08/2016 21:20

Hello - I'm all signed up to join SW tomorrow evening so thought I'd have a look around for meal ideas & found this fab thread. Lots of inspiration here and great losses (well done!) so I'll keep checking in if that's ok.

For breakfast I usually eat either cereal & milk (skimmed) or fat free yoghurt (Greek) with fruit. Would both of those be ok without using syns?

My other concern is lunch in the office, I don't like to bring a pack up so am looking for ideas about bought lunches. Are there any good websites listing shop bought stuff? My fave lunch is sushi from ITSU, not sure how SW friendly that is. Also like Pret sandwiches/salads.

Thanks in advance.

Toofondofcake · 29/08/2016 21:27

Can I join in? I just started on Friday and have had a couple of good days but I'm not convinced I'll actually loose weight - I've eaten literally a tonne of fruit and veg and can't imagine I'll still be even a pound less! Also I'm a little bit confused over healthy A and B - I am currently counting them as syns is that right?

Also I think about ice cream all the time. I'm not sure I'll last. Help?

ALemonyPea · 29/08/2016 21:33

Welcome Chewbecca and Cake.

Chew, the yoghurt and fruit would be fine. You also get one healthy extra A which is your dairy and one Healthy extra B which is fibre a day, so depending on your cereal. You could have that for breakfast.

Cake, one Healthy Extra A and B a day, they don't need to be syned if you're just having the one portion. If you have a second, then you syn it.

Good luck both of you.

Toofondofcake · 29/08/2016 22:48

Ah thanks lemony! I've been counting my healthy extras as my syns which means that most days I haven't had any syns.

ALemonyPea · 29/08/2016 23:09

Now just think of all the syns you have saved.

Waitrose sell a tub of frozen choc yoghurt which is 15 syns for the whole 500ml tub. Go get some and enjoy!

Toofondofcake · 29/08/2016 23:15

Ohhhh that is so tempting! Does it really honestly work though? I'll be super gutted if I get weighed and haven't lost a pound!

Would that frozen yogurt undo all the good work?

ALemonyPea · 29/08/2016 23:44

It does work. I've lost 3.5 stone since April.

You can have 15 syns a day, it won't do anything.

ALemonyPea · 29/08/2016 23:44

Undo even

MollyRedskirts · 30/08/2016 00:10

Funny that the conversation has turned to ice-cream as I was coming on to tell you about the ice-cream I made! I mentioned upthread that I had cinnamon Ben and Jerrys when I was on an off-plan night out, and I wanted to try and recreate something similar, SW style. I did it today.

If you're new to SW, it's not quite the same texture as ice-cream, as it's more icy, but if you let it melt a bit, it's fairly close.

I mixed one vanilla mullerlight with a tub of Quark, 22g white chocolate Options (2 sachets worth but I have a big tub and weigh it), 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and approximately 3 tbsps of granulated Truvia sweetener (it's sweeter than other types, so you may need more of a sucralose/aspartame sweetener). I didn't measure the cinnamon but I started out with roughly half a tsp and kept adding more to taste.

I broke it up with a fork several times while it was freezing, then needed to use a knife to get a portion out when it was done, but letting it melt a bit and using the back of my spoon smoothed it out a lot. It was very, very nice, for 1 syn per portion. 4 syns for the lot, from the white chocolate Options, as everything else is free.

EmilyK83 · 30/08/2016 06:55

Ooh Molly that sounds amazing!

Welcome Chew and Toofond!

Weigh in this morning - 3lb to get to target and hoping to shave as much of that off as possible today! After that, today's food will be...

B - might take some fruit to w/i
L - Singapore noodle pot with veg
D - something off plan if I lose today - if not, then will be a tomato based pasta!

nicjayne74 · 30/08/2016 07:48

Good morning, would it be okay if i joined this thread also. Going to join sw tomorrow and my willpower isnt that great, looking forward to getting some good ideas. I need to do this this time....

Rastel38 · 30/08/2016 08:21

Morning, I'd like to join too please. Going to start this morning after many years away. I weigh heavier now than I did at full term with twins and after a horrible couple of years resulting in surgical menopause and taking tamoxifen I need to call a halt to this ongoing weight gain. This thread has been so motivational and I'm feeling much more positive, could even say excited at the thought of getting my slim inner person back out!

JOEYDOESNTSHAREFOOD · 30/08/2016 08:29

Welcome all new joiners, I'm just a few days ahead of you all and I feel amazing already.

Good luck for WI Emily!

EmilyK83 · 30/08/2016 08:59

Welcome nic and Rastel - and thanks Joey!

MollyRedskirts · 30/08/2016 10:16

Rastal - I've been there. I'm actually withdrawing from tamoxifen at the moment as I've had enough, and the benefit to me is only 1-2% decreased risk of reoccurance. It's not worth it to me, for that. But it's perfectly possible to lose weight with SW and be in tamoxifen - I know loads of people who've managed it, me included.

BasinHaircut · 30/08/2016 11:41

Morning all and welcome newbies! Hope everyone had a good bank holiday.

I did, but not on plan so I'm not weighing today. I only started back last Tuesday so I've been rather naughty! I'm taking last week as a 'getting back into the right frame of mind' week as I expect no weight loss, but it has geared me up to hopefully be much more successful this week.

I've decided (inspired by a thread elsewhere on vegan recipes) to get a few more vegan meals in the meal plan. Easy to chuck in the slow cooker stuff that can work as lunches and dinners with pasta/rice/cous cous etc as I really do enjoy that type of food and it's easy and can mostly work as syn free!

EmilyK83 · 30/08/2016 11:46

2lb off, so still 1lb to target. Know I shouldn't be frustrated but I am!! Hopefully next week - did get slimmer of the month though!

Decided to have an on plan meal after all tonight. So determined to smash it this week...

Sixpencenonethericher · 30/08/2016 12:36

Well done em welcome newbies
Forgot who asked but I lost 6 pound the first week
I've not been able to be in plan for even one day for the last 3 weeks but I'm back on it now
I gained 6 pound last 2 weeks so hopefully ill sts Thursday

ALemonyPea · 30/08/2016 14:03

Molly that ice cream sounds lovely.

Well done Emily, you'll get your target next week for sure.

I lost 3.5 lb this week, also got slimmer of the month and the week.

It's too hot to eat today. I'm not even hungry.
