Scan bran challenge definitely works in that respect...but only if you drink enough water, otherwise it has the opposite effect haha!

Massive work deadline finally met at about 11pm last night, so decided to go for a long walk this morning...just under 3 miles so far, and about the same still to go...

EmilyK83 · 25/08/2016 11:00

Dinner plans have changed! Apparently it's national burger day today - would be rude not to...

Going to do mine bunless, and topped with bacon, pickles, a cheese slice and my syn-free BBQ sauce! Plus SW wedges and salad. Drooling already...

Sixpencenonethericher · 25/08/2016 11:26

Morning , I've put on another 3 pounds so that's 6 in 2 weeks but I'm back on it today

WingDefence · 25/08/2016 12:14

Mmm national burger day. Might have to have a cheeky one (without bun) at the BBQ later. it's due to rain here later which is a pain.

Hi Sixpence - is the gain expected? Hopefully you're a fast gainer/fast loser?

B apple, strawbs, bluesb and last FF lemon yogurt.
L last of my mushroom soup. Amazing value for 50p plus storecupboard ingredients.
D 'overnight' (just made them) scan bran (hexB) with strawbs and cherry muller light. Possibly a burger on its own for syns. Not sure about hexA.

wishingchair1 · 25/08/2016 12:22

Yesterday was

B. Yoghurt and wheat bran hexb
L. Pastansauce with lots of spinach leaves
D. Spinach, 1/2 pack lentils, poss 2 syns, tomatoes, balsamic vinegar.

Today
B. Melon
S. 3 crisp bread 2 with low low spreadable cheese and marmite and one ff cottage cheese. 1/2 Hea
L. Spinach leaves, tom, spring onions and ff cottage cheese.
Dinner. Marmite potato wedges and salad.

BasinHaircut · 25/08/2016 12:58

Day 3 for me. I went and got some 'Tim's dairy' Greek yoghurt with honey to have with my fruit instead of the total stuff. Delicious but I think about 6.5 syns for half the small pot! Gonna have to try and find a different one that is just as yummy.

So today's plan is:
B - banana, raspberry and strawberry and yoghurt.
L - leftover spag Bol and green beans
D - not sure yet. DH is out so its just me. Might have a small Chinese takeaway, what's good to go for?

ALemonyPea · 25/08/2016 13:33

I have DS2+3s friends here today. Could quite easily hide in my bedroom inside a multi pack of crisps.

Don't know what's wrong with me today, every time I stand up I feel all wobbly, fine when I'm sitting down though. Meant to be going to Clubbercise tonight, hopefully I'll feel better.

B: yoghurt and hifi bar (HEB)
D: ham and egg salad, 4 tucs with hea cheese
T: SW chicken curry with rice

abigwideworld · 25/08/2016 13:40

Really struggling with slimming world this week. Just want to eat biscuits and ice cream! I have reflux at the moment which is putting me off a lot of my favourite syn free foods.

WingDefence · 25/08/2016 14:02

Basin boiled rice is free and chicken in oyster sauce is something like 7 or 8 syns and totally delicious. Or chop suey (the beansprouts one) might be fairly low as it's mostly veg, again with boiled rice.

ALemon, could you have low blood sugar or low blood pressure? I get both which make me feel dizzy and light-headed. Have you got any bananas you could eat? Or perhaps have a small jacket pot for some carbs? (Obviously I'm not a nutritionist but that's what I'd have if I was feeling like that.)

abig I wonder if gaviscon is synned?!

abigwideworld · 25/08/2016 14:12

Haha I already googled that this morning, it's free 😂 Thank goodness. Will deffo be having some.

ALemonyPea · 25/08/2016 14:17

I was thinking low blood pressure maybe as my blood pressure is normally in the lower scale anyway. Will add extra salt to things to help raise it and see if that helps maybe. I'm not a big salt eater as it is, rarely add it to anything.

I love Gaviscon, lived on it when I was pregnant. DH thought I had an addiction. Strangely, I've never head heartburn since I started SW, used to get it quite regularly.

abigwideworld · 25/08/2016 15:05

I have a hernia from before pregnancy so I get heartburn quite a lot. Don't seem to get it on SW either! I've only had the odd day of it, usually after I've been off plan for a few days Blush

MollyRedskirts · 25/08/2016 16:35

I reckon it's low blood pressure. I get exactly the same thing and extra salt sorts it right out I got mine in the form of ready salted crisps at 5 syns a go .

EmilyK83 · 25/08/2016 17:31

Am exactly the same - was on omeprazole for my reflux pre-SW, not been a problem since I started! Happy days!

Never knew that about salt and blood pressure, learning lots from this thread!

froubylou · 25/08/2016 18:15

My BP is always low. Was 98/65 the other day.

I have also found my digestive niggles have improved since eating better. Though I have snaffled a slice of white toast today and have indigestion.

I really am not great with bread.

abigwideworld · 25/08/2016 18:23

My BP has been a bit low too lately but I haven't found a solution yet. 59/40 the other day Hmm not usually as bad as that though. DP keeps nagging me about the salt thing but if you're not in the habit of using it, it can be hard to remember!

emwithme · 25/08/2016 19:31

My blood pressure is up and down like a whore's drawers, as my gran used to say like nobody's business, but I have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome - basically when I stand up, or have been standing up for too long, my blood pressure drops into my boots and my heart rate races) so I'm kind of used to it!

WI today was a maintain. Bit disappointed with that, as I've been on plan all week, but had some medication changes last week which could explain it (even though it's a reduction, I find the week of any change is pants as my body tries to work out what's going on).

I am ridiculously hungry at the moment too. Am trying to throw in some low/no-syn snacks so I don't get hangry, but it's difficult. I know it'll pass in a couple of days though!

Today's food:

B (Post WI): Breakfast muffins
L: Pastrami salad, apple, pear, satsumas
Post-work snack: Apple & cheese (mini cathedral city) - still hungry so had a small (1/3 last night's) leftovers portion of chicken noodles. Am glad I made DH package it up for the fridge rather than the bin!
D: Cottage pie, carrots, cabbage
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars.

WingDefence · 25/08/2016 20:59

Unlucky em with the maintain but hopefully it'll come off with a good loss next week.

I never thought about having something salty for low BP - I'm learning too!

Had one burger and some fried onions (can't resist them) but no bun at the BBQ. Plus lots of watermelon. I've realised I've not had an SP day but no carbs either. feel knackered tonight though for some reason.

EmilyK83 · 25/08/2016 21:02

Agree with Wing, Em - will hopefully come off next week!

I'm off for an early night shortly. Too many stressful evenings of working till 10pm, need to just chill out and read for a bit!

maygirl · 26/08/2016 00:15

I put on 3 pounds too, carryover from last weeks off the wagon, even though on plan this week Sad
Away on a hen do for weekend tmr which involves afternoon tea and lots of eating.
Ate very lightly today and hopefully will be in right frame of mind to draw a line and start over from Sunday night. Got the scan brans in ready for next week!

I'm another one who's lost the minimal bust I had whilst maintaining an ample booty and thighs!
Happy bank holiday weekend all!

froubylou · 26/08/2016 07:23

You see I have a huge bust and not sorry to see some of it go! It's also gone from my arse and legs though which weren't too bad. But I still have a fat belly. Am a typical apple shape so end up looking like a weeble!

Today will be an off plan day. Out for a pub lunch with my best friend and then we are out for a curry later. I don't think I will be losing this week. Sigh. But it's getting towards the end of the holidays so will be back in full control soon. Plus we have back to back horse shows this weekend so lots of body magic and calorie burning coming up!

WingDefence · 26/08/2016 07:47

Hey froub, have you looked at the pub lunch in advance? Are there any choices you can make to limit the damage? Try visualising saying no to that extra glass of wine or burger and chips?
Have a lovely day whatever you have though :)

EmilyK83 · 26/08/2016 08:46

You can do it May!

Frouby - enjoy!

Finished yesterday on 12 syns, which I'm happy with. This is today's plan...

B - melon and yoghurt
L - Singapore curry Naked Noodle pot with veg
D - hunters chicken with HexA cheese, chips, veg

Cereal bars as HexA, all meals syn free so have all 15 to play with for evening treats...

BasinHaircut · 26/08/2016 08:50

Ended up with a Chinese takeaway last night and just got the usual.

Chicken fried rice and crispy chilli beef. Ate the lot Blush I reckon about 25 syns total but please shout if I'm sounding too low!

Altogether yesterday I was 31.5 syns so going to try and stay low syn today to compensate.

B - yoghurt (6.5 syns but its yummy!), raspberries, strawberries and banana
L - cheese (HEXA), chicken and huge salad
D - SW curry, rice and veg - probably carrots and mushrooms

I'm also going to do run1 of week 2 c25k once the sun goes down.

UnicornsAndMarshmallows · 26/08/2016 09:19

Hi everyone!

I'm just back on the Slimming World wagon, trying to do it from home this time as the classes in my area aren't on at time I can attend :(

I'm still pretty au fait with syns and things, however I've really gotten into eating these Korean Black Bean Noodles, but have no idea of the syn value as no longer have access to the calculator online and since it has a free food I can't just syn it outright.

If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it - the noodles (wheat) are the free food :)

Here's the nuntritional info -
Average nutritional value per 70g
