Trying to keep within syns today- ended up having too much bread yesterday...

B- egg muffins and grapefruit
L- roast chicken on a slice of toast (1/2 hexb), fruit and a hi fi (3 syns)
D- leftovers from last night- chicken and veg in tarragon and mustard sauce with rice

Syns- 4 butter (going to have other slice of toast hexb for supper) 2 sugar, 6 hi fi

EmilyK83 · 17/07/2016 08:48

Finished yesterday on 9 syns - a few more than I was aiming for...

Today's plan:

B - strawberries and fat free cherry yoghurt, Alpen Light (half HexB)
L - leftover Moroccan chicken, tzatziki and salad
D - SW burgers with HexA cheese, chips, salad

Another Alpen Light as the other half of my HexB, no more than 5 syns of treats...

ALemonyPea · 17/07/2016 14:30

I only had 4 syns yesterday, didn't need any more than that. Going to try for a low syn day again today.

B: fruit, hifi bar for HEB and yoghurt
D: ham wand pease pudding wrap, orange, yoghurt, pufts for 3.5 syns
T: pork chop, baked potato with hea cheese, salad with maybe 3 syns of salad cream

emwithme · 17/07/2016 15:05

I'm also back from my holidays - a week in Cologne with more beer and gin, bread and ice-cream than is possible to contemplate. Scales this morning show a 5lb gain from last Saturday. Back on plan this morning, and have scan bran in for my HEBs for the week to try and pull some of it back.

Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato.

Dinner: Roast beef, roast potatoes, yorkies, carrots, broccoli
HEA: Milk
HEB: Scan bran (probably with quark or cottage cheese)

maygirl · 17/07/2016 18:35

hi all
B HeB roll, bacon and tomatoes
banana
L/D roast beef, SW potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, carrot, green beans, cauli, gravy 1 syn, horseradish sauce 3 syns
ice lolly 2.5 syns
HeA milk .

froubylou · 17/07/2016 19:40

Was dds birthday party today. We went to tgi fridays and I had a lovely JD Burger. Dread to think how many syns BUT I didn't have a starter (which I would usually) and I only ate half my frys. So actually feeling a bit smug.

Could have had steak and salad but it was nearly £20! And couldn't bring myself to pay that for something I would be a bit meh about.

I also had a jacket potato and salad for tea last night instead of the kfc everyone else had.

Just having some tuna and sa lad as I was starting to stare in the fridge and poke birthday cake lol.

Hi, I'm new to this site. I've followed original and green days in the past and now about to start extra easy. Does it work as well? Find it difficult to think you can eat lots of meat without weighing it like I used to on a green day (which I mostly followed). Any advice would be appreciated as I'm doing it by myself at home and not going to a group.

calzone · 17/07/2016 22:43

I have been neglecting you all.

Am so sorry.
Am still around and trying hard and going to weigh in every week.

I lowered my target but seem to be going up not down!

Have decided that when I come back from Italy, I will start again. I'm now 11 stone 4 down from 14stone 3lbs but maybe I need to relook at the scales to get down to 10 7lbs.
What do you think?

OP posts:
ALemonyPea · 17/07/2016 22:44

Welcome Bella. I did red and green days years ago and hated it. Much prefer this way.

I do 1/3 protein, 1/3 carbs and 1/3 speed, or half protein half speed if not eating carbs that day. You don't have to have loads of meat if you don't want to.

I prefer going to class as gives me an aim, and Helps me to stay focuses.

ALemonyPea · 17/07/2016 22:46

Xposted with you Calzone.

You can do it, you've done amazing so far. Enjoy Italy and we are here with that stick when you get back. One does not go to Italy to eat lettuce.

bellakjo · 17/07/2016 23:15

Thanks for that Alemonypea. Does it help to do no carb days do you think? I'm used to having cereal for breakfast and sandwich for lunch which was allowed on old plan so will have to re-think lunch but appears to be lots of other food to have so will have a go!

EmilyK83 · 17/07/2016 23:21

Hi Bella!

No carb days don't really seem to do much for me, but everyone's different! I tend to just have pasta/rice/potatoes at one meal of the day, and seems to work...

You can definitely do it calzone - you're our inspiration in here!!

bellakjo · 17/07/2016 23:25

Thanks Emily - would definitely miss my pasta etc but suppose if I keep it to sensible portions once a day I should be ok. Day 1 tomorrow!

emwithme · 17/07/2016 23:58

I'm sitting on the sofa with a pot of quark and a knife and my HEB of scan bran. I've been here for 45 minutes and I still have one and a half ceiling tiles to go.

Send reinforcements. I don't think I can do 4 days of this or at least I need to start chewing earlier so I can go to bed at a reasonable hour

It HAS to show on the scales...

calzone · 18/07/2016 00:15

Thanks ladies.
Will try harder this week.....

Hello Everyone just some advice, I had my baby 4 months ago and have started SW but finding it really difficult this time, did anyone else feel the same? What can I do to get my mind set motivated.......really need some advice.
Thanks in advance Blush

PositiveAttitude · 18/07/2016 07:11

Welcome Joanne and Bella I will leave it for the more experienced ladies (and gents) on here to answer your question, well, maybe the gent wont be able to answer the baby question. Grin

I am off on holiday this morning. Have just weighed and I do have some wriggle room to be able to have a small gain and still maintain on the WI day weight from last time. I return next Sunday evening, but Monday is DD4's birthday, so we have takeaway night and cake planned. The doomsday WI day is Tuesday. No time to lose anything before then. Eeeeek.

EmilyK83 · 18/07/2016 07:25

Em - scan bran is easiest to eat if you eat it with something with loads of sauce...like baked beans - the juice soaks into them and makes them a bit softer! Or the tiramisu I made with them before ;) Just make sure you have two days without the scan bran before weigh in to give your body time to sort itself out after eating them!

EmilyK83 · 18/07/2016 07:26

Today's plan for me:

B - ff yoghurt and strawberries
L - chilli con carne and salad
D - beef and bean hotpot bake and veg

Skinny latte for HexA, Alpen Lights for HexB once again... Finished yesterday on 5.5 syns, aiming for similar today...

ALemonyPea · 18/07/2016 07:41

I don't tend to do many days without carbs, but I only have one meal with carbs. I don't class my HEB as carbs either. So I either have potatoes/pasta/ rice with either my dinner or tea, and the other meal is just protein and speed. I do the odd SP day, but they don't really make a difference to my weight loss.

Unsure about eating your head around the diet after having a baby, I take my hat off to anyone who can diet while still doing night feeds. My baby is now 7 (years) and I'm only now in the right place to lose weight Grin

EmilyK83 · 18/07/2016 08:58

Joanne - maybe batch cooking/prepping when (if!) you have any time is the way to go? Chop veg sticks to snack on, make big batches of chilli, pasta sauces etc so you've always got something syn free to eat?

KittyOShea · 18/07/2016 09:44

Had an SP day yesterday to try and make up for the week ahead in Spain.

Today I'm having
B- porridge, cinnamon, fruit
L- last of the egg muffins and salad
D- chilli con carne with lots of veg and rice

Syns- 2 sugar, 3.5 small skinny latte, 6 hi fi

On hols I'm aiming to stick with healthy options for breakfast and lunch and have what I want for dinner with a wee glass of wine most days and a lot on the day of my nieces wedding
Hoping with a good week this week that I could have a maintain or even a loss at the end of 2 weeks without a weigh in.

maygirl · 18/07/2016 13:51

Have great holidays Kitty and Calzone!

Joanne, can't help with motivation much right now as my own has walked out the door lol! I would say be kind to yourself, no negative self talk and make it as easy as possible for yourself to have quick meals on plan by having the right foods in the house. E.g plenty of frozen veg, those steam packs are good if cooking just for yourself at lunch times for example. Ready prepped salad bags, stir fry veg packs and 4 min dried noodles. Salmon fillets, chicken mini fillets are super fast to bake, and fill fridge with cooked cold meats, yogurts, cottage cheese/quark. Plan some nice syns to look forward too when baby sleeps! Keep some hifi bars or similar in changing bag so you always have something when the biscuits come out at baby groups! And if you are breastfeeding make sure to have the extra healthy extras you are allowed, they make a huge difference to how good you feel on slimming world.

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 18/07/2016 14:17

Hello! I've just signed up to SW online. I weigh just over 12 stone atm and would like to get to around 11st 5. Do you mind if I join you on here?

Today has been:

B: 2 X weetabix + 75ml whole milk, raspberries, satsuma and banana

L: ham, boiled egg, baked potato, level tbsp butter, rocket and tomatoes

Dinner will be: Spag bol

Have had one milky tea as well but sticking to milk free and water / maybe a diet ginger beer for the rest of the day.

Syns: 6 in total

It really doesn't feel like a diet so far as I'm not hungry! Amazing. Hope I actually manage to lose weight... I've tried SW once before and think I put myself off it by forcing myself to eat all the low fat dairy (muller lights etc) which I really can't stand the taste of. This time I'm planning to cut that out and just have small portions of full fat and either add it as Syns or as healthy choice a.

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 18/07/2016 14:45

Should have said 175ml whole milk btw, not 75.
